  1. On that day, they allowed us to get off the ship earlier before the all clear announcement; I was in the middle walking to the Bus stop when the announcement made at about 11:15; the bus 25 I got on did not leave until very close to 12:00.

    The stream of ship passengers asked and got answer from the driver of the same destinations questions over and over, bus ticket/ fares and changes, etc making it a very long process.

    The bus did not leave until it was fully loaded to the standing capacity and with a standing queue at the bus stop. Like I said, I was very surprised no other 25/27 has turned around and back in that time frame.

    When coming back from Norresport/Osterport, maybe those passengers know in advance what is in for them and come prepared with tickets in hand? and also not the whole boat of people coming at the same time? that certainly would make it a total different experience than at Oceankaj.

    Bus 27 drivers need to adhere to the published schedule for the locals, they probably would not try to engage a lengthy Q/A with the tourist passengers. But not the shuttle Bus 25; no defined schedule, making the rounds for the ship passengers.

    I strongly believe that the outbound bus 25, should be of exact /no change; and/or when condition warrants, free to board, to Ostorport/Norresport, with an IOU to the passengers to pay on the ride back; and to whoever needs, an easy to read Bus 25 route map showing Oceankay , the Bus Stops/Schedule and nearby major tourist attractions, making life easier to ALL (drivers included)

    ---------------------- ----------

    I wish Oceankaj well in the future time frame as you described; but NOT now going through a mixed sand-rain dust beating you up trying to walk in the wide vacant Terminal 1-3 area. It was certainly not a pleasant experience.

    I am not sure what feedback you would get from those of Terminal 3 needing to walk up the whole length of pier to the Bus 25 stop.

    At Kiel of similar length of walking the pier, at least you walk through an extended elevated gangway partially protected from the elements.

    ------------------------

    Unlike some other ports, the Oceankaj terminal building was closed except for embarkment/disembarkment; you need to walk around the building outside to the gate to exit the wholly fenced pier area.

  2. The Oceankaj is a terribly desolate area that is being pushed up to the suspicious cruise passengers.

    The same is for the Helinsinki's Hernesaari pier the ugly hell hole that HAL sets up for us; at least they should have some courtesy to warn us in advance of the difficulty and the transportation alternatives. (the city bus #14 is highly recommended to reach city center.)

    Both ports should have provided some free shuttle option as Corfu, Greek does from the ship to the Port area boundary to earn for the Town of our tourists money.

  3. ... Continuing from the previous post (#285)

    a) The Nørreport Bus 25 Stop picture (Post 204 by Danish viking) is actually quite misleading; the bus 25 stop post is hidden directly behind the Yellow 42 post; not easily seen that I walked up 2-3 times not noticing it until one helpful lady at the stop inquiring what I was looking for?

    I would advise the instruction: " with the Macdonald's at Nørreport on your right, walk all the way to the end of the station to the yellow 42 Post to find the 25 stop behind."

    b) when I was there, I noted that a revised bus 25 timetable attached to the stop Post that Bus 25 would run 8A-3P when the cruises are at Oceankaj. As such, I missed the 3:45 as referred to by my bus driver.

    I then rode DSB Øresundstog train to transfer to Bus 27 at Østerport which was quite full when leaving the stop, per instructions (Post 204) with no difficulties.

    I bought the one-way bus ticket form the phone card shop (WC) at the Townshop corner at the same price, but with 2 hours, vs. 1 hour sold on bus for transfers.

    Since it has been 15+ days, I am wondering whether the bus authority has reverted back to the previous Bus 25 timetable

    " the posting attached to the post definitely differed from what is on the web (posted since mid May )

    http://www.moviatrafik.dk/Timetable%20Resources/25-0025-080515-r.pdf"

    *** maybe Danish viking can investigate and verify this?

    when I showed a print-out of the Nørreport station plan

    (http://www.moviatrafik.dk/Terminalkort/%C3%98sterport.pdf); not many people (including station security) could help reading it?

    *** maybe Danish viking can post one with MacDonlad's as reference;?

    Hope this helps in all immediate future planning to take Bus 25/27 to Oceankaj.

  4. Hi, Danish viking/ acbat1

    of your Post 141 and subsequent discussion,

    On my May 20 (Wednesday) travel in a shared taxi at about 12:30pm from airport to Oceankaj for Eurodam (4PM departure), I noted a stream of walkers with luggage in tow (not sure starting from where, but likely Østerport), even one person pushing a occupied wheelchair, most likely to get to Oceankaj.

    On May 31 (Sunday) returing to Copenhagen for overnight stay, the ship docked and gave all clear signal around 11:15AM; soon afterwards I was at the Town Shop (Terminal 1) bus stop for Bus 25.

    I missed the first 2 buses (too far to recognize the route #). I was then the first one taking seat on the next bus 25, then waited for 45 minutes for the bus loaded/ driver handled questions/ tickets/ changes etc before departing. I was also very surprised that no other Bus 25/27 returning to the Stop for the interim. The bus driver also made an additional stop at the Palace between Østerport and Nørreport.

    Before stopping at Nørreport, the 25 driver announced that the last return bus from Nørreport was 3:45PM.

    The next day (June 1, Monday); there were not many taxis seen at the Terminal; from my pre-arranged taxi for the airport, I saw a line about 20-30 at the bus stop; many walkers with luggage on the road out of the terminal.

    ... Continuing on the next ( I was warned being too long)

  5. I'm scrambling because I just realized that the Oceankaj isn't the pier that I had all planned out the directions for.

    My hotel is near the Vesterport Station. Is the best way to Oceankaj to take the S train to Osteroport station and then take the 27 bus to Oceankaj? I can't find anything to show where the stops for the 27 bus are.

    How long would this trip take? I was planning on dropping my luggage off at the port and then go back to squeeze in some more sightseeing, but I don't know if it would still work with this new location.

    You find 27 Stop (Sløjfen) in the below station plan; but take into consideration of what Danish viking has suggested in another post (enclosed below)

    You can also watch out for 25 (no finite schedule).

    " Under all circumstances you will have to take the Øresundstog train from the airport to Østerport.

    If you are 2 persons or more then one person can walk up to the pedestrian bridge at the end of the platform and see if there is any lines at Sløjfen bus stop.

    If there is not then its just to keep your train ticket and show it to the Bus driver.

    If the lines are long then walk up to the main hall and find the taxi ranks outside the main hall.

    But from my experience its easier to get a taxi from Nørreport or the central station.

    They are the previous stops on the line before Østerport. "

  6. Dear Danish viking,

    would you please verify , with Corrections/ Updates as needed,

    the below CityPass info as quoted from the officially sound but an .co.uk site?

    Per the info quoted below:

    1) City Pass (24 or 72 hrs) is sold at the DSB Ticket Offices/ ticket machines/ smartphone APP;

    2) Time Countdown starts at the first Use of it;

    As such, I will then buy the Pass at the Airport DSB ticket office before taking the train to the Oceankaj embarking;

    use it for the 25/27 Shuttle into Town when returning to Copenhagen for the overnight stay.

    BTW, how much $DKK is the CityPass (24/72 hrs)?

    ... it is possible to buy various tickets and travel cards such as a single ticket, Flexcard 7-days, 24-hour ticket, Copenhagen card and a City Pass. These can be purchased at machines or DSB ticket offices at most stations or via the internet or your mobile phone.

    If you don't want to worry about calculating zones and time, the so-called City Pass may be a perfect solution for you. They are available in 24 hour and 72 hour versions, and allow for unlimited travel in zones 1 to 4 for the designated period.

    You simply stamp your City Pass the first time you use public transport in Copenhagen, and it will be your valid travel ticket until the 24 hours or 72 hours have passed. The CityPass can be purchased as a ticket on your mobile phone (via app or internet) or in DSB ticket offices.

  9. Hi, Danish viking,

    Congratulation on your Big 30.

    1) do transit and/or railway stations offer WiFi free to all?

    b) about downtown/main tourist attractions?

    2) To navigate the train stations/train/buses, what is the simple Dansh

    North, South, East, West; Next ;

    3) How to find individual bus route map: e.g. #11 which was quoted/linked frequently in the previous years' posts, but "not available now", what is the new link?

    4) 24hrs Pass: In the widely expected post after your site tour upon the first Oceankaj cruise arrival, please also comment on where in which terminal and the store hours to buy the 24hrs Pass?

    Thanks.

  10. The newly updated (26.4.15) Østerport Station plan showing in the lower right corner both 26 and 27 (20m down north) Stops.

    Hope that they will place 25 SB Stop with 26 close to the Station (saving the walk to catch the train), NB Stop with 27 (both toward Oceankaj).

  11. To be honest I have seen that video a few times :D

    Its actually very relaxing to look at.

    Hi, Danish viking,

    " Finally, Got the Quote thing going."

    Glad that you have found relaxing to watch the train ride video.

    But I was interested in finding out the distance between the stations by KM posts along the railway; can you tell from the video which ones are the KM posts? if you have got them, what are the KM for Kastrup Lufthavn (Airport); København H (Central Station) ; Norreport; Østerport

    Or where the DSB hides in the web, the official Railway Chart/Scheme showing the info?

  12. Dear Danish viking

    1) How to take Øresundstog train (direction Nivå or Helsingør) as you suggested in Post #159) from Airport to Nørreport or Østerport

    2) I found from the Airport there is a DSB Øresundståg that seems to also stop at Nørreport or Østerport as well - Are they two different rail lines ?

    But rejseplanen.dk does not seem to offer trains other than M2 for the journey?

    From : Airport (Kastrup Lufthavn, Udenrigs (Tog, Metro, Bus))

    To : Oceankaj 2, 2150 Nordhavn, Københavns Kommune

    Itineraries mostly would offer M2 to Kongens Nytorv ; then transferring to Bus 26 /27 etc

    3) How to force rejseplanen.dk to offer other rail lines from the Airport?

    4) Where to find DSB Øresundståg weekday schedule between airport to Nørreport or Østerport ?

    Thx.

  13. Hi, Danish Viking,

    RE: #159 Report Post 04/27 03:27 AM Danish viking

    ======================================

    am confused by your reference of train(s);

    if possible can you be more specific e.g. M2; S-tog, DSB etc

    Arriving to Østerport by train (M2 ?)

    Bus 25 is reached by walking up to the main ticket hall, walk left when you get out on the street....

    If you take the Øresundstog train (direction Nivå or Helsingør)... ((DSB Øresund ?)

    Thanks.

  14. Quote:

    "Christianshavn is a pretty safe area to walk around in"

    "If you talk about Davids Samling then its off the beaten path."

    "Just stay away from the freetown if you don´t like shaddy people"

    "main square in front of their historic City Hall.

    Right around the corner from Tivoli"

    Terms "freetown" "city hall" in Danish? the name of the SQUARE in front of it?

    where to find a map showing all those interesting places quoted in this thread so far?
