Being Canadian   she may have to clear Customs if it is the 1st Canadian  port

@emmy  you may get the Customs card in your cabin  before you get to Halifax    we have not done that route  so cannot say for sure

Thank you   I am just thinking back years ago on sailings in particular a transatlantic out of Florida that customs and immigration came onto ship in Ireland our first port of call and we had to line up, present ourselves with passport in hand in dining room.  It was long procedure.Just curious if this MAY be the case on this cruise

  2. We will be cruising out of Bayonne to all Canadian ports on Jewel of the Seas.  The cruise ends in Quebec City.  Our first port of call is in Halifax Nova Scotia.  Will all cruisers have to go through Canadian Customs the day we arrive in Halifax? Do custom agents come on the ship that morning for clearance before going ashore?

I am questioning the length of time this will take to try and plan a private tour in Halifax. Port stay is only 7 am to 4 pm

    any experiences?

Prevailing rates.....that's the clincher as we all know rates have done nothing but go up. Especially for those who booked early.

We are in same situation on the fall westbound TA. Seems inequitable that they would price protect Reflection cruisers going from older ship to a newer one.  Very disappointed. Prevailing rates are high and most of the Europe and other TA’s are less days 😔

Nope, not a public beach, it’s Public Beach. 😉

When people talk about Public Beach, they are generally referring to the public beach at the far end of Seven Mile Beach from the port, beside the Kimpton Seafire.  Other public beaches pretty much all have either a different name entirely, ie Smith Cove Barcadere, or they are referred to with the name of the town or district, ie Cayman Kai Public Beach.

And the only beach club left is Coral Beach.  None of the others are planning to reopen at all, let alone any time soon, at least as far as articles in the newspapers state.

will be in Grand Cayman early Feb on Celebrity Beyond.  Any idea if there are beach chair rentals there at ‘Public Beach’?

  5. These are my thoughts on Oasis transatlantic. Yes I would love to book a westbound one if there is one in 2024.

so eastbound is April 21/24 + 14 nights gets her to Barcelona May 5.   Her first Med sailing is on the website at May 9 not enough time for a drydock before Med season.

Perhaps the drydock will come after the Med season as they did in 2019 Oasis last drydock.  That year there was NO revenue transatlantic and they used crossing to complete changes on the ship. Last Med sailing on website is a 3 night Rome to Barcelona

    Sept 26/24

the only westbound transatlantic that Oasis has completed was in 2014 after her quick 2 week drydock in Rotterdam

Fingers crossed there is a fall TA in 2024.

  6. If anyone is up early and would like to watch Oasis of the Seas pass under the Verrazano Narrows bridge you can watch live streaming on https://www.nyharborwebcam.com/

This should happen about 0630 - 0730 AM eastern Wed Aug 18 give or take.

after she passes under the bridge you can watch her progress to her docking  on

    https://www.portnywebcam.com/

This is the first time an Oasis class ship will arrive in NJ/NY area

Well, here is your daily update.  The person I know sailing this Saturday from Florida just received a call after he was told this morning they were meeting to discuss the matter.  They just told him (again) now that for this weekend's cruise HE IS considered UNVACCINATED because his Pfizer shots were more than 42 days apart.  They say talks with the CDC are still ongoing.

Just when I thought we were getting somewhere after Michael Bayley himself said that we are considered fully vaccinated, this happens...

I would like to know the ship he is sailing on this Saturday out of Florida   Is it a test sailing perhaps.   I am holding on tight to the ‘they say talks with the CDC are still ongoing’   My B2B is Sept 12 out of Bayonne

To update everyone on how this stands currently.  I am awaiting word back personally from RCCL regarding the topic in this thread that I started.  My email to them was acknowledged on Monday that it had been received and is being investigated, but they have not called me back yet or emailed me again.

That said, I can confirm another Canadian traveler who I know has been told that he is considered unvaccinated for his cruise this week and he had 2 doses of Pfizer and he missed the 42-day cutoff date by a few days.  This is just not right.

We are hearing all this data saying that delaying the 2nd shot gives you more protection, but we moved our kids' 2nd doses up so that we could go on this cruise.  The kids got their 2nd shots at 45 days and they are considered unvaccinated.  The frustration, anger, and tears that will come out of this and the way it is being handled is agonizing.  I can't imagine how the kids are going to take it either when they find out if RCCL does not change this policy.

Been following this thread and also posts on other social media outlets.  I am double Pfizer dose 72 days apart with a B2B on Oasis in Sept.  I am mentally exhausted by all the logistics and planning I have had to do re insurance, making sure I was vaccinated, trying to find flights since as you know the land  border is not open ( our preference is to drive to Cape Liberty) finding a place locally that will do the PCR test for my flight.    Holding off on booking flights and then this potential issue surfaced.   I do not understand the difference in wording re accepted vaccines between RCG and Celebrity, I  listened yesterday to a webinar where Celebrity rep explicitly made no mention of the duration between vaccines.

I lifted and shifted to quantum in that same route in 4/22.

im just curious why you folks chose radiance when you could have sailed on quantum at the same price.

I chose Radiance because I liked itinerary better.  I have been to many places in New Zealand and Radiance out of Brisbane went to ports there I had not seen. Radiance  out of Brisbane was the only sailing that went to Great Barrier Reef which I have not seen on my previous Australia visits .  Pricing was less For Radiance TP as  I did not lift and shift but simply transferred 2 existing bookings to these two Radiance sailings.  I have cruised out of Sydney two previous times and dates of Radiance worked better for us to add a visit as my daughter & SIL who live in Sydney.

We just booked the Radiance TP in April 2022 from Brisbane to Honolulu.  It was a Lift & Shift.  I will be really bummed if this is changed!  I am also wondering how it would affect the L&S?  I would hate to lose the great price we got with that.

Watching these developments closely. We as well as you know are on Radiance same sailing in 2022 and I also have one March 31/22

on Radiance to Great Barrier Reef out of Brisbane.

Looking closer at the brochure nothing is longer than 10 days which is less than the Covid incubation period of 14 days.  I wonder if there is a deliberate correlation at least for now.

actually on the brochure under ‘Pacific Voyages’ there are couple of 17 night sailings to Honolulu on Radiance out of Brisbane
