The reason we keep coming back to Thomson/Tui/Marella is for reasons like this! I’m a very early riser and am often wandering around with coffee by 5 am. On every cruise I’ve been on some staff member has come forward and asked me if I’d like them to see if the croissants, etc., are ready yet. I think the buffet will open early for this, but the staff are so helpful I’d just ask.

When we did a Central American cruise our daughter was 17 and was allowed to drink wine at dinner. She had something on her lanyard that said she was over 16 but under 18. However, we may have been asked if we allowed it - which we would as we then lived in a country where the drinking age was 16.

As long as we get to Iceland on time, I have no issues of when we leave on Saturday.
Even my American husband just asked me if they’d be showing the match on board

Many thanks for your helpful responses. Yes Fire & Ice from Newcastle on Saturday - can't wait!
If the forecast is right Reykjavik on Tues is going to feel very cold - a high of 12 degrees after leaving Newcastle with 23 degrees!
Thanks again Rachael.
That’s quite warm for Rvk this time of year. Beware of the sun - the only time I’ve ever been burnt was 8C in southern Iceland.
Isafjordur is meant to be 6C on Wednesday! I got funny looks buying fleeces recently :)

An Icelandic friend who lives in Akureyri has recommended Keli Sea Tours to us for a less touristy whale-watching trip. We’re going next week so will report back.
Marella Cruises - why do passengers return?

We like the fact that the ships are small, and we can be as laidback as we like. We don't dress up for dinner - we usually don't use the bookable restaurants anyway. My husband will have a glass of wine, but I don't really drink. For us, we want a friendly base where we can unpack our bags once, but see the world without the hell of airports. The whole family can just do their own thing - but I know they are all enjoying themselves, but near at hand if needed.
The reason we keep coming back to Marella? We look at other lines and other cruises, but, so far, only Marella have gone to the locations on the dates we want. And that is why we're here yet again LOL
