  1. We are UK citizens.  We applied for and received the sub-class 651 e-visitor visa but now I'm wondering if that will not be sufficient and we need the ETA instead. The website does not make it clear to me the difference between the 601 and the 651 so we applied for the 651 as that is what we used last time in 2019. Can anyone advise please?

  2. Hi. I've been trying to find a tour operator for a day trip to Blue Mountains from Sydney for our pre-cruise stay in 3 weeks' time. They all seem to offer trips including Federdale Wildlife park/Sydney zoo/ferry from Parramatta but we are not really interested in these extras and wanted to concentrate just on the Blue Mountains area (scenic world plus lookouts, honeymoon bridge etc). I can only find one tour operator to offer a trip of this nature which is "sydneyadventuretours" but there are precious few reviews online and I would have to book directly in local currency with them off the back of their website. It makes me slightly nervous.

Does anyone have any experience of this operator before I take the risky plunge and book with them?

  3. Hi all. I'm due on a GBR cruise in November stopping off at both Port Douglas and Airlie Beach. As these are both tender ports can anyone advise where exactly we are likely to arrive on shore (so that I can see on google maps). I'm trying to establish whether we will have time to arrange our own non-ship trips and it's difficult when I don't know how far we will be from some of the attractions.

    I'm thinking of -

Airlie - jet skiing, glass bottom boat tour round reefs etc. Are these available to book on arrival at all?

Port Douglas - going to Hartleys crocodile adventures or the Wildlife habitat. Not sure if we'll be able to make it on our own using public transport or through Viator etc

  4. Hi. We are cruising in just under a month with Celebrity and wanted to do a whale/dolphin tour in Ponta Delgada. The ship doesn't dock until 2pm and most of the tours I have researched privately seem to have set time of departure in either the am and generally at 2pm which is obviously going to be too early for us allowing time to get off the ship.

So we decided to ditch Ponta Delgada and try for Funchal instead as that is an early dock. My question now is - does anyone have any experience of these trips in Madeira and did you book in advance online or just rock up at the harbour and join the next excursion? We don't want to miss out if it's likely to be popular or stand in line too long to sign up. I guess I am leaning towards booking before we go but am a little nervous of that ie paying up front.

Any tips here? Any advice on operators? I do know of course that the ship also carries these trips but they are double the price.

  5. Hi. I am currently an emerald member but haven't cruised with RCI for a couple of years. Is there a time limit on keeping my emerald membership by which I mean do I lose it if I don't cruise with them for a number of years (how many?) or do I keep the emerald status for ever more? I couldn't find an answer on the C&A site and feel sure that I have read somewhere that if you don't cruise for 2 years you lose your status, but that seems a bit harsh.

  6. Been scouring the forum for information on getting to Capri from Naples and have found lots of really useful guidance - thanks - but one question keeps going through my mind. When we dock in Naples in 2 weeks time on Harmony, there will also be 3 other ships docked. Can anyone comment on just how busy it is likely to be? I know it's a difficult question as there is no knowing how many will choose to go to Capri as opposed to Pompeii etc. However, I am worried about actually getting on a ferry. How big are they? Should I book online in advance both ways (in which case how long do I allow for looking round the island and going on the chair lift at Anacapri? and how do I know when we will be allowed off ship in the morning?). Just how long would we need to allow for buses to Anacapri etc.? Any information gratefully received, especially from anyone who has done this recently.

  7. Is it easy to get to Jerez from Cadiz on your own? If anyone has any information on buses/trains, how long it takes, how much it costs, how easy it is to get to the bodegas once there etc then I'd be grateful for your help. Would it be better to try and book a private tour instead? We are a family of 4 going in July, docking at 10am and leaving at 5pm so not enough time to go to Seville.

    Thank you.

  8. Hi. I have a question if one of you good people would be happy to respond please. I am going on Anthem in 3 months time and have just tried to book the I-fly which I only found out yesterday is available to reserve. It would appear the only day available is day one quite early when we may not even have arrived. Is there any chance of being able to book on board - I mean do they keep some spaces back? It would seem unfair if we miss out otherwise - my two boys would be devastated.
