So did only the penthouse rooms get new carpet or did the other rooms? I am going on the next cruise from Venice. Never been on Regents before. Looks nice. A little viva las vegas but still nice. Most companies are not investing in their product. Regent is. Very respectful!

Also, have to say something about the many forums on prices going up and less benefits for the cost. Also, different benefits for different levels of rooms. Welcome to the rest of the world. Not saying it is right but is what it is! I travel for work often. Delta Diamond and more. My flights have gone up double what they were 2 years ago for business. Regent is in business to make money. We vote with our dollar. Hope that makes sense.

Hi, I posted on the roll call as well. I had said no to the first time through upsell. A little too high. Regent came back and offered lower cost upsell. Took it. My partner and I in small room might be like the Shinning and Jack Nicholson........... I am glad you liked the Grand Suite. I know nothing is perfect. I just like the extra room!

We received an upgrade offer this week. We are in a penthouse currently. The lowest upgrade price on 10 day cruise was $1500 a person. Seemed high for us so we declined. I looked today and looks like there are no wait list on any higher end room category. Wonder if guest did not take the offer. Does Regent ever come back closer to cruise or when you board for lower rate on upgrade? We are fine with our room, just wondered.

Is your first cruise on Regent or Oceania?

Regents. Very excited. Staying in a penthouse B. I read they are dry docking Voyager before our cruise. If upgrades are available for purchase, wonder if it is worth it. Remodeled Voyager Penthouse might be worth staying in reserved room! I know my question should be in dry dock thread. Sounds like you have a lot of experience though.

I enjoy reading Cruise Critic. I am amazed at how some people get very personal with their debate. Take it easy everyone.

I am going on my first cruise in November. I am more worried about the guy in the robe with no underwear (earlier debate on this thread) vs. the food or brand of wine. :)
