I was on this sailing. There was a quick power outage. Shortly after, the Captain came on the speaker and described the incident just as stated in the article. He did sound upset / concerned about the issue. We did leave late, but all the activities went on as planned as the crew addressed the situation.
I was playing a slot machine when the power went out. I happened to be in the middle of the bonus round on Dragon Link. There was a concern I would lose that game, but the machine did re-set just where I left off. So, no harm no foul.
The Captain kept us informed and the crew handled the situation well.

Pre covid,
Usually on sea days I get up 9am ish, get some breakfast, we get 2 loungers out on the pool deck and I try to do a work-out about 1-2 pm.
Only a couple people in the gym, steam room to myself.
Never tried 5pm, I would think not many people are thinking of the gym at that time.

Get home safe.
Speedy recovery, a little road ahead,
but before you know you will be right back on the high seas!

Half Moon is a tender port.
The ship will face the safest way depending on wind and current to operate the tender boats.
-
Just a reminder, NY departures pass the Statue, but not Cape Liberty Bayonne.
The Bayonne departures will see the Statue off in the distance to the port side, once you enter the NY Harbor.
i also agree, its a great sail away.
Leave from about 49th St next to the Intrepid, and the new Hudson Yards complex, then past mid-town & the Empire State Building then lower Manhattan and the Freedom Tower then into the NY harbor past the Statue and finally under the Verrazano Bridge.
Into the Atlantic, and your on your way towards your first destination.

The ship looks beautiful.
At least its a start.
Disney World started off slow and now getting busier each week.
Yes still a lot of concerns, but at least we have a ship sailing.

Thanks for the responses,
I like Bud Light but as stated I'm sure to find something good.
Been on cruises to the Caribbean, not to Europe yet, but hoping in a year or two.
As to the DJ, we usually don't talk to them but was more wondering if it would be popular music by the pool similar to the Caribbean.
Some of these 7-9 day Mediterranean itineraries stop at 4-5 countries, couldn't imagine a better way to see a nice slice of European culture.

Ok
How about English with the following;
Ordering in the dining room,
Talking to the bar tenders,
Lido deck DJ,
and is there Bud Light on board???
-
That is cool.
Lets all hope we can get through this as soon as safely possible.

I bought in at the close, 150 @ $14.96. I think there will be another leg lower, closing ports, suspending cruises? Lets all hope we can get this virus under control as soon as possible.
My next move will be to buy another 100 shares somewhere under $10 if the above happens (hope not), then hold and wait for all of us to get back to normal.

Couple years ago we took a chance, made a 9:50 out of TPA. This ship seems to disembark right before 8am, not much earlier, maybe something with the dock workers start time. We are platinum and were just about the first off the ship carrying our own luggage.
If you do self assist, get off reasonably early in the process, right in a cab should have no problems. Everyone always talks about the fog, if its a significant delay, everyone will have a problem with making flights.

Ok,
Thanks for the Bud replies. and debark info.
Looking forward to our 5 day.

Thanks for the review. We are going on the Valor at the end of the month for a 5 day.
Going to have to try the TYD, we always get the 6pm dinner time.
Did you notice if Budweiser was served on board, a member of our party was asking.
How about the debarkation, what time did the ship dock in NOLA.

Excellent review,
Thanks for taking the time to post.

Been on many Carnival ships, all of them had LifeFitness elliptical machines. They had the TV attached and are usually in good shape.
-
Really nice pictures, thanks for taking the time to post them.
Ship looks great.
Is the sports bar still next to the casino?
-
Recently off the Paradise, and noticed there was no Budweiser being offered in the beer selections at the bars.
Asked a couple of bartenders and they said Carnival was not stocking it anymore.
End of an era I guess.
Has the "King of Beers" really fallen that far???

I would hope so. I mean, can Carnival really not show the SuperBowl.
-
Is this new cut back just for the TV's in the cabins? We booked the Liberty next month just to watch the SuperBowl on the Lido deck big screen. What about the year round sports in the sports bars. If no SuperBowl, THATS A BIG PROBLEM!!!
-
How about using a new screen name such as MITSUGIRLY 2, and use a different email. Like starting all over, and your old reviews can stay.
-
Do you need a reservation, or just see a driver at the airport?
Where is the pick up area?

We were on the Paradise in December last year. The atrium was decorated. One event I do remember was a Christmas carol sing along in the atrium, with the snow machines. It was really a nice experience.
Food on the Magic
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
We just got off the Magic today. Overall, we like Carnival food, although can be very subjective.
These are a few of the dinners I had that were all pretty good.
Beef Short Ribs
Braised Beef
Chicken Cordon Blue
Chicken Parm
Soups and sides were good also.
We don't eat any seafood.
All our meals were hot and good presentation.
Had an excellent service team.
Six-night cruise, went to MDR each night and dinner took 45-60 mins. Right on target to eat and see the dining room performance.
Had the early seating (6pm) in the aft dining room.
