  1. originally posted on the boards to this cruise till I found this site with a vaster audience.  We did try to hire UBER , we held for 60 minutes without a single driver responding.  Lucky those that got one in 15 minutes ….

We just completed this FABULOUS cruise, despite any issues with weather or internet.  The BIGGEST issue is disembarkation in Bayonne.

getting off the ship was quick and easy.  Getting transportation from there was a nightmare.  It’s been easier in a third world country.  The lack of registered/official cabs is inexcusable.  There were none.  The signage of where to go did not exist.  No standard rates posted.  Uber was not available.

this is an important feature.  One that completes the entire cruise experience.  We understand the cruise line does not control this.  They do have great influence over port amenities-look at what they haveaccomplished throughout the Caribbean.

  2. Thank you for ALL your helpful suggestions.  I really don’t know why I would need to provide you (total strangers) with a tracking number.  By the responses, some of you have gone thru the process and I really appreciate your input.

if you need the tracking number so badly, are you affiliated with the cruise, Fed ex, or an entity that works with RCCL?  if so , you probably need to disclose that in your responses.

With that, I will close this discussion for now and watch the mail.  Cheers!

  3. Moma bear, thank you for sharing your experience.

as for Mark, the point is RCCL prides itself on its dedication to customer service, hence, that is why we cruise with them….not some of the other lines.  Let’s face it, the cruise line benefits from word of mouth, repeat customers, and other money generating incentives.  I would hate to think that they are gimmicks and lying to the the public (we have it and here’s a tracking number) is good policy.

  4. I’m sorry I have no idea what OP is.  I also do not understand what vital info you need that I have not revealed  Rccl charged for the phone call (we were at PR) airport and we were advised that to get the claim form it would take a phone call to rccl to report the lost item, from that call a claim form would be generated.  Frankly $40 to get my iPad back would be well worth.

I made the point that I received an email that THEY HAVE MY ITEM.  BTW, it’s been 30+days, location no longer shows up.

I appreciate your help, frankly, it is interesting that Rccl does not appear more transparent to their customers.  Instead they hide behind a call center that has no ability to escalate the issue .  As a company I would be embarrassed that our policy sends me in an endless circle.

  5. According to the customer service.  They have record of the item and it has been assigned an incidence #.  They will tell you that while have it, they don’t know where it is.  We’ve talked to:

    Ford

    Xian

Fed ex does not have it in their possession

you can see, we have gotten nowhere, and RCCL has not stepped up beyond letting us talk to customer service.

  6. Hello!  Maybe one of you has a suggestion.  Sailed on Explorer in December.  Disembarked on the 26th-within an hour discovered I left my IPAD in the room.  I was told to call CHARGERBACK (RCCL’s official lost and found dept) this was a $40 call , they immediately emailed a claim form to complete and return.  I did.

That same day, I received an email advising item was found! Yay!  They requested a CC for $39.99 for fed ex postage to return item to me.  I received an email indicating receipt of payment and a tracking #.

it is now 30 plus days, and I don’t have it. We have called and spoken to several reps who have nothing but ask for our booking number and incident#.

Is this how RCCL treats loyal customers, almost diamond plus, shareholders????

I do not know how to reach a reliable representative, do you?

I am hoping RCCL sees this and responds appropriately!

  7. So we sailed in September with full drink package. This allows for a $12 glass of wine included in package. Look at the menu prices-that is the lowest price glass of wine and it is the cheap brands I don’t even by at home. Also at that price there is only 1 Pinot, 1cab available. Anything else is an up charge. If your a cocktail drinker, package was great. As a wine drinker, it was disappointing!
