This is all great information - thanks everyone!
Does anyone know if the Noordam is on the old or new packages?

The Seaview is meant to be adults only, however during school holidays I have seen young people there - accompanied by adults - and there have been no problems.
Your daughter might enjoy the kids club - I understand there are plenty of fun activities.

I just checked again and now I can't see any either... nothing over Christmas or New Year!I just looked and can only find cruises departing on 12/3 and 12/4 -nothing over the holidays.Very strange, because I was sure they were there last week when I was looking for something in early January 2020!
My apologies for misleading you.

Got upgraded to a Neptune Suite once over the Christmas holiday period and found out when I logged in to my account online... I emailed my TA and she checked and was almost as excited as me when she checked and confirmed it for me! We received email notification two days later directly from HAL.
Sensational Christmas present!

Hey sail7seas
Another Aussie here - and we're booked on the Noordam to PNG in December - very much looking forward to it!
Cheers!

If the laundry bag isn't in the cupboard just pop down to the Neptune Lounge and ask the concierge for one to be sent to your suite.
Enjoy the Neptune Suite - it's lovely.

As soon as you unpack!Hii, have been travelling for 10 days and, although having managed to hand wash some clothes, we have accumulated quite a bit of laundry. We are boarding Westerdam tomorrow and have unlimited laundry as we are in a Neptune. Question is how soon can we ask for it to be done once we have access to our suite? The blue laundry bag will be in the cupboard under the safe near the shoe-shine brush - just fill out the form, pop it in the bag with your washing and leave the bag on your bed.
When the stewards come to turn down in the evening they will pick up your washing!
Lovely clean laundry - usually in 24 hours!

Looks like weather around Auckland is pretty awful on the tail of the cyclone with winds of up to 120kph so you can understand the ship taking another route.

Upsells come through your TA - our upgrade to a Neptune a couple of years ago just appeared on our booking 4 days before sailing.... I called our TA, she checked with HAL, and we all squealed with delight!
Well, not quite squealed but there was a bit of a happy dance going on....

We will be on the Noordam for St Patrick's day and my partner (an Irishman who has lived in Australia for the last 45 years) just went "oh yeah - I'll be having that" when I told him about the corned beef and cabbage! I so hope they have it for him - would be lovely.

Agree - we found that the suites next to the elevators lack privacy when on your balcony.

Those wine lists really helped us decide on whether to buy a package or not.
We'll be buying by the bottle!
Many thanks!

Would anyone have a copy of the current/recent wine list for the Noordam?
Thanks

Same here. And I"ll do it again, too, next summer on the Rotterdam. ;) I didn't get kicked out then, so I'm thinking my chances are pretty good that they'll let me in.
I will too - on the Noordam in March! [emoji41]

Two words: low class. Let me just say this: no one will say /admit that of course but people on lesser cruise lines also use lanyards..they're afraid it's going to rub off on HAL🙄
Dear me - does that mean I shouldn't be wearing my lanyard in the Neptune Lounge?
Woopsie - already have!

I suppose I could tuck it in my bra to keep the anti lanyardians happy but that’s a whole other popcorn thread isn’t it
Ha ha ha ha ha - that is gold!
I wear a lanyard at work and have been known to use one whilst cruising. I use one with a 'quick release' mechanism just in case.

The balconies on the Verandah deck (deck 5) midship on the Oosterdam are not as deep as others.

We found our TA through our extended family. Wonderful woman based in another state in Australia.
We do everything via email or phone - she runs her own business but is affiliated with a larger brand/group here in Australia.
I wouldn't go to any one else now - very lucky.

New Zealand is the most beautiful country and the people are so friendly - my heart goes out to them with this earthquake.
We were in NZ in January this year on the Noordam and just loved it.
The area around Christchurch is just stunning. We loved Akaroa in particular.
Bless them - my thoughts are with them.
