  1. I am suppose to be on Friday cruise to Bermuda and have been struggling with a medical situation that is not getting better. Don't know if it will before Friday. I have travel insurance. I was wondering if I could transfer my booking two weeks from now to the last Bermuda cruise out of Boston. I was hoping to cruise for my birthday but so far I am not getting better. I really don't want to cancel. Thanks in advance.

  2. Two Feb. ago we went to the Caribbean on the breakaway and hit 33 foot seas for over 8 hours. Never did I feel unsafe. It was difficult to walk mostly at the Buffett. Most people were out and about inside the ship. They would not let us go outdoors. The safety of all on the ship is their main concern.

  3. Is this true on the Gem too?

    Only a few lounge chairs?

Those ships used to have lounge chairs all around the promenade deck. I liked them cause they were in the shade and it was so peaceful there!

Yes they use to have chairs. My last cruise on the Dawn a year ago, there was none. Some people were sitting on the floor of the deck. I use to love sitting there.

  4. We live in MA' date=' but have not limited ourselves to sailing just out of Boston, by any means (actually have only done that twice so far after taking 15 cruises), however, I also think it's time NCL puts another ship in Boston for the Bermuda & Canada runs. I'd like to see the GEM myself.[/quote']

Me too..that is what I am thinking. Love the Dawn and sailed her many times out of Boston and NY. Been on other lines and sailed out of different ports. Love to see a change of ship as well like why can't NCL put the Gem out of Boston for a while. What is the big deal. Maybe things that I can not understand but many from time to time have asked about this with no response on and off the ship.

  5. Yes the lack of seating in the atrium makes it very difficult find a seat, sit enjoy a drink while watching an event. I have witness many arguments over seating. There were some events that I wanted to enjoy and take part in while having a drink. At times it was not possible. :(

  6. Just got off the Breakaway yesterday. Had very rough seas going and returning from the Caribbean. On the way south had 30.8FT seas. Yes it was rough but tolerable. We all were walking like we were drunk. Just make sure you have meds. On the way back we had 24.1 ft. waves. The breakaway is a large ship and it was not as bad as I would have thought.

  7. Need some input about the Breakaway and a Balcony.

Will be sailing the Breakaway 12 day in Feb. We have mostly booked an inside because we are never in our cabin. Never been on a large ship like the Breakaway before and want to know is it worth the 1100 dollars more to book a balcony this cruise. Wonder if there is enough chairs on decks to sit outside and relax? We were on the dawn Repo and could not find much seating anywhere. Sailed many times on the Dawn and never had a problem but seems as if they removed many chairs on the outside decks.

So just thinking how are the odds of finding places to sit and relax with so many people. I know there are many more places to go on the Breakaway but can help thinking that it may be difficult and a balcony may be nice.

JUst want to get any Breakaway cruisers opinion would it be worth the 1100 to book a balcony with so much to do on this large ship.

    Thank you in advance.....:)

    Marie
