  1. I don't know if there is a particular way to get a great deal, but I would try by regularly checking different cruises for the time period you like.

I like to try to book as early as possible when I see what I consider a good rate, and then call for an adjustment if the price goes down.

I booked in February for a cruise in October of this year, and if I were to book that same cruise today it would be nearly $1900.00 more!

Good luck with future planning and happy cruising!

  2. I am extremely sensitive to motion sickness. The Dramamine and Bonine did not help me. Nor did the sea bands. Ginger capsules gave me severe indigestion and nausea. The patch is the only thing that works for me.

Cabin placement is also key for me. I need to be as centered as possible, and I do still feel a touch dizzy when I'm at the very forward or aft.

Everyone reacts differently to the above mentioned remedies. You just may have to experiment to find what works best for you.

    Good luck and happy cruising!

  3. It's been a few years since I was on Freedom, but the Schooner Bar was a favorite place to go for trivia and the piano man! Karaoke was always a great time as well. The 70's party and other shows that the CD puts on the promenade deck are a blast!

Hmmm....talking about all these wonderful things makes me want to sail on her again after Allure! LOL

Have a great time and we'll be watching for your review!

  4. Thanks for the heads up! The beverage package for my sailing sounded like a great deal with the big 50% off banner, but when I added it to the cart it is actually the same as the advertised price. LOL

Had it been a true buy one at the listed price and one 50% off, I would have snagged it up for sure.

I did book the Dragon's Breath zip line at a discounted rate, though, so thanks again!

  5. From someone who has been VERY seasick (can't tolerate much motion in a car either)..........go with MID no matter what. Being forward on the ship is the absolute worst for me and where I can feel motion the most. I stayed Aft on a Disney ship, so not sure I can compare it to RCCL - I did feel motion, but it seemed like it was a different direction, so it didn't bother me....if that makes any sense.

As far as being high up, I always hear people say that you feel more movement the higher you go, but I cannot say I've been less seasick on a floor 6 balcony versus a floor 12 balcony. For me, the key is to have a balcony so that I can open it and feel air if I need to.

This goes for me as well. I am very sensitive to motion and I can not sail without the patch. Always mid-ship and mid-deck for me.

I must be the minority, but for some reason being higher up doesn't affect me as much as the lower decks. There is NO WAY I would ever make it with an aft or forward cabin, regardless of deck level.
