I just returned from a breakaway cruise in a studio cabin last week. The AC worked fine and I adjusted it several times based on my needs. I had no problems my cabin was on the upper floor of the studios and I too would prefer it on the same floor if possible. No issues with the cabin or the cabin attendant for me. Cruise was great enjoyed making new friends. I would certainly take another cruise with a studio cabin if the price is right.

Wow, lots of good information here… Thank you all. I’m booked in a studio cabin this coming April so this information is great. Thank you all.

I’m excited, it’s my first studio cabin and looking forward to it.

Thanks for this feedback… Diatomaceous earth, will keep this in mind. I believe it dries out insects. How did you apply at? Or where did you apply at?
By the way, I’ve been on many many cruises over the years and I’ve never run into any bedbug problems not on the crew ships or in any hotels. But I know the problem exists and I certainly want to know how to deal with that should I run into it. Thanks again.

Hi sweet pea, I’m guessing it’s the computer programming and supply and demand… Their sales computer adjusts the price based on the supply and probably more of the many cabins are available right now so the prices down so people will book more of a particular category. While most of the people so far have probably been booking balcony cabins so there’s only a few left and the prices up a bit. It’s my guess… Btw - The mini suite cabins are the same as the balcony cabins except for the bathroom. The mini suites have a larger bathroom with a shower or tub. Myself I prefer the mini sweets with the shower. But if I can save money I will take a balcony cabin. As I said I believe the rooms are the same. It’s just the bathrooms that are different. Best of luck to you. Enjoy your cruise.

Hi Cavenger, did you book? I’m booked on the April 14 sailing myself in a studio cabin. If you have access to Internet while on the ship please post some reviews for me and anyone else in a studio cabin. Thanks.

I bring an extra card from home, not a real credit card to leave in the slot myself. Works great, and the room steward never touches her removes it.

Same here… Toiletries are heavy and I rather have some extra clothes in my suitcase. I stay the night before a cruise at a local hotel and walk to Walmart or Walgreens nearby… Making sure in advance my hotel is near some easy shopping. When the cruise is over I leave any surplus in the room or trash it depending on what the item is. I also let Rooms Stewart know the day before that he’s welcome to anything I leave behind.

Hey guys, found a new charter company and they are offered gift a several drink packages, a 50, 100 & more package...instead of daily package. I put my deposit down last weekend and added a 50 drink package (light drinker here). It’s the Celebrity Summit New England Cruise chartered by a Vacaya a new charter company and this is their first charter cruise. I’m looking forward to it.

Anyone have any recent experiences with special diet needs I.e. Gluten free or vegan?

I was on the SKY last June and the would not tag my case of water, had to carry it on myself...I saw others prepared for this who had come with small two wheelers to carry their water. Have decided how much water to bring with me on my next NCL cruise.

I've always purchased travel insurance for my cruises...only had to use it once, when my father got sick and I was fully reimbursed for my lost fare. Now I found cruise insurance, so am buying this rather than travel insurance. The cruise insurance has some cruise specific coverage that I like...such as itinerary change and coverage for returning home. The bottom line is, you have to buy what you feel comfortable with and understand its there to help.

My tip is take a shuttle if going solo and take a taxi if there are two or more in your party. The taxi cost is about $48 plus tip and you get door to pier service, that's Houston Hobby to Bayport cruise Terminal. Much better than waiting to share a bus or van shuttle that might surprise you with multiple pick up or drop off stops.
Any word on Bermuda?

Carnival Legend, Nov 14th Cruise:
Some good info on this thread, than you all. I'm still not sure what will need to be done as requirements seem to continuously change. Right now I'm looking at two tests before boarding, I think. One four days out for the Bermuda TA, Travel Authorization and one two days out on Friday for Sunday boarding.
My thought is the the 4 day out test was a suggestion, Bermuda just wants to see a PCR test, so the 2-day out Friday PCR (rapid one) with results the same day could work for both the Carnival and Bermuda. I can upload to Bermuda on Friday or Saturday. Still looking for some clarity in the next few weeks.
