  1. Going on the sunshine soon and have started a diet (Yes, I know how stupid of an idea that is) and I have been drinking unsweetened Iced tea instead of colas or coffee. If memory serves me right the only place to get unsweetened Iced tea the MDR? Is there any way to get it also on the lido deck? I know there are hot tea packs but that is a last option.

I tell people the best idea is to get another official copy of your BC and keep it in your suitcase. That way if you forget at least you have another one in there.

a few years ago my wife told me she had lost my BC 2 days before our cruise, I had to drive 12hr round trip out of state to get a new one. So I decided to ask for 10, yes 10 copies so I would never have this problem again. Luckily I have family all over Florida so we now have one near by for all cruises is she ever loses it again. I also have a copy that I pack in my carry on.

  3. As serious as that could of been I know I would of been that guy who would of said out loud that larger people need not be gathering all on one side of the ship. When I was in the Navy we use to have a running joke about the larger men in my division gathering in the same place at the same time and if any let the CO know so the ship did not start listing.

  4. Has anyone received multiply upgrade offers for the same booking? As of today (14SEP18) My wife and I have received 5 different upgrade offers for a booking on the Sunshine sailing in December. The first 3 upgrades just moved us from our original interior cabin to another interior cabin but on a higher deck, and the price was not worth it. On the 4th upgrade offer the price was right and it moved us from Deck 1 to the Lido and it was only for $20$ total. (We took that one) Normal my story would stop here, but today I received another upgrade offer and this time it was not for a interior upgrade. It was for a window, window cloud nine spa, balcony, or suite. Pricing from 200 for the window view to 550 for the suite, for a 5day cruise.

So here is my real question, Have any of you also received multiply upgrade offers and is it common to for these offer to keep going down in price like the first 4 I received?

Also if it makes any difference I booked this cruise 2 years ago.

  5. Take your food back to your room if you feel like you can't get a seat.

    BOOM problem solved.

If you feel like you need to eat on the lido and you don't want to wait for an open table just think about all the sailors on an aircraft carrier who have to wait 2hrs in line for a hot meal and than can't find a seat right away.

  6. Perhaps a simpler way to state the point is to say, I'll never cruise a 4k ship, and I'm guessing there are a lot of other cruisers that feel that way too. I guess if that wasn't the case, we'd all be choosing the Behemoth of the Seas on RCCL.

The problem with this approach as I see it, is your are now limited to the same few ports.

  7. The BAD! (these are my bad....many people may feel these are not issues)

Movies were horrible! Horror movies or super hero movies. On deck and in IMAX.

How was this a bad thing? The top earning movies right now are Superhero movies, it only makes sense that that is what they have to show.

  8. "Couldn't the entrance to the Horizons Dining Room on Deck 3 for YTD have been better planned so that people wouldn't have to go to a little desk on Deck 5 to check in before going down to the MDR to be seated? "

This might be one of the dumbest things Carnival has ever done. It makes absolutely no sense. You go to a restaurant, go to the hostess, and then you are seated, not rocket science. Anyone make any logic to this, Bueller?

I really like this setup, the last time I used YTD was on the breeze and if you when between 6 and 8 the wait could be as long as 60min. Carnivals things here might have something to do with people huddling around the dinning room waiting for there buzzer to off.

  9. So, you are limited to two bottles per person? I had no idea. My DH and i had 12 bottles and didn't hide them, they were in the carted boxes with handle and we walked right through customs. We were not asked about them at all. I didn't know about the limit. We were planning to stock up again on our January cruise. I thought they would say something when we purchased them at the shop onboard to be sure we don't go over the limit.

The limit changes per port visited, I have had cruises where you can bring back 2 bottles per person and other where you can bring back 6 per person.

This thread is a few days old, don't know if OP will return or not but... I do have the price sheet given to us on the Miracle last week. It's kind of a poor photocopy. Is there a specific liquor you want me to look up? Or, if somebody can tell me the best place to upload pic, I'll post it here. Or happy to email. Also, as somebody else mentioned, they have lots of specials that probably aren't reflected on the price sheet.

    Grey Goose!!! prices please

  10. Yes....since your all part of family, you can tag along. I just did it last year. I am platinum but my wife isn't but of course she was with me. But I also cruised with my daughter and son-in-law and they went through with us.

Were they booked with you? MY parents heard that I was going to be going and decided that they were bored and want to come along also.

  11. I need someone to help point me in the right direction here. MY wife and I are going on the Vista in a few weeks with my Parents who happen to be platinum members and I got huge question about cruising with them. Since they are platinum and they get priority debarkation can I piggy back off of them to also get off with them or do we all got to wait til my zone is called? And before anyone points out that they do not have to wait with us, I know that but I will have the car keys and I'm driving so I don't think they want to wait outside for me.

  12. I'm going on a carnival cruise for my honeymoon next month and it's the first cruise I've been on. I travel a lot for work and have had various problems with people entering my hotel room (nothing bad like stolen items, just general moving things around or throwing out stuff I wasn't done with) so I always keep the 'do not disturb' sign up or ask the hotel desk to hold off on cleaning. Is this something I can do on the cruise ship? Will the cabin stewards respect the 'do not disturb' sign and stay out even if I'm not in the room?

Your on honeymoon!!! Who cares what the room stewards think if you want your privacy. Its their jobs to take take of YOU, not the other way around. Keep the snoozing ;p sign up the whole cruise.

  13. There is parking at the Radisson near by that is not too bad.

    • Three-night Cruises: $30 (plus tax) includes parking for one car and shuttle for four people
    • Four- & Five-night Cruises: $35 (plus tax) includes parking for one car and shuttle for four people
    • Six- & Seven-night Cruises: $40 (plus tax) includes parking for one car and shuttle for four people
    • Eight- & Nine-night Cruises: $45 (plus tax) includes parking for one car and shuttle for four people

I have used them before with no problems.

  14. We got back from a 9 day New England cruise on the Anthem of the Seas last Saturday. THAT was a vacation. We got home, unpacked, and longed for a 3-day booze cruise where we don't get off the ship and have our noses stuck in a book 8 hours out of the day. I booked one yesterday and we leave in 3 weeks.

I get the booze cruise idea but I'm past that point of my life and enjoy the casino and shows 2 much for just a 3 dayer.

  15. I live about 4 hours from Las Vegas. There are millions of people who love a weekend in Vegas, gambling and dining and taking in sights. A 3-day cruise is nothing more or less than a Vegas-like adventure. It's quick and relatively inexpensive. It's not a vacation per se, it's a couple of days out of the house.

We certainly take vacations, a week or more at a time, but those take more leave and money than I may have at the moment.

    That's the point of a 3-day cruise.

    Touche`

  16. My wife and I just recently got a decent sized airfare voucher and wanted to go away to FL for afew days. We quickly realized that spending the first night in Orlando and then doing a 3 day cruise would be cheaper that just staying at a hotel. We are treating the 3day cruise like we are staying at a resort...its going to Nassau so we aren't getting off the ship. Besides the obvious (its short) what are some pros/cons (or tips) from people that have done 3 day sailings before? Just looking to get most out of short time on board :)

Don't want to seem like a Debbie downer but whats the point of a 3 day cruise? They are such a tease. I have a very had rule of nothing less than 5days. I did a 4day last year and it went by so fast I wanted to book another one. Now my option should be taken with a grain of salt, I live in Florida and less than 5miles from port and my vacation never really feels like it has started until i can't see land any more.

My big Con is short cruises are just that SHORT. You never get the time to say I'll miss that activity and do it next time.

  17. Issue #1: When we tendered over to Princess Cays it was about 11am. There was no food on lido to be had, we were hungry. The staff said there is food on the island. Nope. We found where the food had BEEN, and we were denied access to it. They were cleaning up, and we were met with attitude. I understand the time it takes to bring things from the ship and to set up and clean up but there should have been an announcement made when the cut off would be or something. No mention of it in my fun times either. We starved until dinner, but enjoyed the colorful fishes that wanted to play with us.

I was going to let this go but for some reason something did not seem right about this post and I feel like the problem you had at Princess Cays was your own fault.

Why would there be food on the lido deck at 11am? Normally on Carnival cruises they shut down the dining for change over around 1030am, and by then most of the food has been picked through and not much is left. If you want to be late risers you always have the option to fill out a breakfast request card and the ship staff will bring it to your cabin.

The ship got in position for the tender by 830am and you waited til 11am. Yes, that is your choice but you should of known it can take 30min or longer to get from the ship to the island. That puts you there around 1130 which would be the normal start of lunch on the private islands. If you passed that up then that is on you not Carnival.

When you returned to the ship and you were hungry, did you grab some pizza that is 24/7 or go to the deli that is 24/7 or room service that is also 24/7? You can't blame Carnival again because they offered you something. you just did not take or want what they had.

I guess the plastic ship on a stick really meant that much...

My head is still shaking at this. It means the world to a lot of people who are you to judge?
