We are just back from our first cruise and were in 7672. I was surprised as how much movement we felt and I don't think it was particularly rough. You could definitely feel it when laid in bed which I hadn't expected on such a large ship.
-
We didn't do the Royal package, but we did do just one and had taken our own dress.
DD is almost 5 and whilst she enjoyed it she got bored having to sit still and found her dress itchy and couldn't wait to take it off. I also hadn't realised that there was a choice of hairstyles, not just the bun on top of the head one, and she picked one with awful long dangly hair extension bits which looked awful. I certainly wouldn't have wanted her dressed like that on more than one occasion as she just didn't look like herself.
On another day I popped a sparkly clip in her hair, sprayed some glitter hairspray and some clear lip gloss on her and she was just as happy.
If we did another Disney cruise we wouldn't do BBB again.

Thank you so much. Will try emailing him now. My brain still isn't functioning following a missed night sleep on the flight home.

We have just got back after our first ever disney cruise, and really appreciated all the help and advice we got from the boards. I promise I will do a proper review once we aren't quite so jet lagged.
We bought 5 photos on the ship, unfortunately on the way home there was a leak from one of our toiletries bottle. Typically, it got on one of the photos and has destroyed it. And yes, of course, it is the lovely formal one of our whole family that we had intended to put in a frame
Does anyone know if it is even possible to get it replaced ? I am so disappointed.

This review has come at a perfect time for us as we board our first ever cruise, on the Fantasy, in 10 days time ... not that I'm counting or anything ;-)
Was the gingerbread house class just for christmas time or is it likely to still be on ? My daughter would love that.
-
Another thank you. From the sounds of it a call to special assistance might be worthwhile before we get on board just in case.
I take it they don't have electric kettles in the cabins and that I wouldn't be allowed to use our own ?
-
Wow fantastic. She will be very very pleased.
And thank you because I think you have answered every single one of my silly questions that I have ever posted on this board.

I wouldn't be comfortable using water straight from the tap, even if it has been purified, it is so ingrained in to me that it has to be boiled that I would be so worried she would get ill and then blame myself (paranoid mother reporting for duty)
Getting a carafe of boiled water from the server probably sounds the best approach. I would never have thought of asking so thank you.
-
Maybe the guidelines for making up formula in the US are different, but in the UK we have to use cooled boiled water. Babies under 6 mths can't drink normal tap water.
-
An odd question, but our daughter has just got in to drinking hot chocolate and asked me today if there would be any on the "holiday boat".
I realised I have no idea but thought someone on here would be able to point us in the right direction if there is any to be found.
-
Now I'm almost organised for Christmas my mind is leaping ahead to our cruise on 11 Jan.
Our youngest is only going to be 5mths on the cruise so will obviously be having a lot of formula. The formula we use isn't available in the US so we will be bringing it over with us, 2 weeks worth of ready made cartons would be rather heavy, so I was hoping to be able to use powder.
Will I be able to get boiled water on the ship and if so what is the best place to do so ?
-
I bet you are really excited to see your daughter. We are on that cruise too, our first time cruising, but I need to get Christmas out of the way before I can even start thinking about the logistics of it all with an (almost) 5 yr old and a 5 mth old.
I think I read that you are travelling from the UK too ? We are flying out a couple of days before from MAN.
-
That's a tricky one then, because if we wait until 2 weeks before we go we'll have missed the chance to take her to see it in the school holidays. I'll try contacting them a bit early and see if they can tell me.
-
We are going on the Fantasy on 11th January. I think I'm right in thinking that they will be showing some Disney movies, how can I find out what is going to be showing ?
My 4 yr old really wants to see Frozen but if it is going to be on the ship we will wait until then to take her. Also, is it likely to be in 3D ? My preference would be for it not to be tbh.

We are doing this itinerary in January, and whilst it mentions the Pirate Night we have't been told anything about a formal / semi formal night.
-
Great, thanks. Not sure how the baby would manage in a seat as she only goes in a trailer at home. Will have to look at age restrictions
-
Another question from me. I'm so glad i found this board or I would be totally lost about all this.
If you want to hire bikes at Castaway Cay do they have child seats for the back of the bikes or the little trailers that you tow ? We'd love to get out for a family bike ride but will have a 4 yr old and 5 mth old with us.

Thank you. This is like a whole new world to me. I work in the aviation industry so never have really had to think about things as it is just the norm to me, I am getting so anxious about this cruise as it is more than we would normally spend and I know my husband isn't particularly keen and I just want everyone to have a good time.
-
Funnily enough I was just coming on to ask a similar question, in fact it may even be the same question but I am totally confused. I have just been completing our on line check in as my daughters' new passports have arrived.
I can choose a port arrival time from 10.30 but then below it says
Your ship boarding time, as listed on your cruise itinerary, may be different than your selected terminal arrival time period. We thank you in advance for observing your selected terminal arrival time.
So does that mean I could choose 10.30 but still not be allowed on the ship until much later ? How do I find out what my ship boarding time will be ? I don't want to be hanging around the terminal for hours with a 4 yr old and 5 mth old .... and a grumpy husband ;)
-
On many lines a baby has to be 6 months to cruise. Disney is 12 weeks, don't worry.
Thank you
-
Sorry for the daft question, what is the 6 mth rule ? We have booked to take our 5mth old on a Disney cruise in January and am now a little anxious having just read about these rules.

We are in the UK. The Government have recently introduced legislation that means that headteachers are no longer allowed to authorise absences during term time. In addition to this you will be fined (per child, per parent) and there is a chance of losing your school place but whether these are actually enforced I don't know. However there is a loophole, which we are taking advantage of this year, which is that a child doesn't legally have to be at school until the term after they turn 5.
Disney Cruise tracking my children?
in Disney Cruise Line
Posted
Having just returned from Fantasy we were told that the bands are activated as they enter the club and deactivated when they leave and therefore they are not tracked around the ship.
There was never any mention of children being taken out of Oceaneer's for food, food was served in the club.
