It has nothing to do with itineraries. You have to get approval from the cruise line. We already obtained such.

That's correct about the money, but they will perform less job - no need to make the room and serve the meal. My assumption that money is paid for the accomplished job. In general, "The customary amount of a tip can be a specific range of monetary amounts or a certain percentage of the bill based on the perceived quality of the service given". So, it should be decided by the clients and not cruise admin

Thanks Clarea for your response.
It makes a little sense, though, to request gratuities for the days when, actually, no service provided for the off boarded guests...
I'll check with the Guest service while onboard.

Already asked this question using general forum, but trying to ask again: is there any rule for downlining (i.e. premature disembarkation) ? We 'll disembark 4 days early (14 days cruise as total) than planned arrival with the cruise line approval, but even though we paid for the entire cruise - should we pay tips for the entire cruise as well or only for the days when we are onboard ?
-
Thanks for your reply. I didn't find what I need in the cruise line (RCI) forum, this is why posted this thread under the general forum

What is the rule for downlining: should we pay tips for the whole trip - even though we'll disembark 4 days early ?

just checked it out - thanks ! Not impressive - barely reach 17-19C :')

Thanks MacMaghnusa for your reply. What can be possible water temperature at the end of September ? I'm living in San Francsico, California, just 100 feet from water, but nobody can swim all year round as water temperature never goes above 16C. So, hope, this is not a case in Vigo ;p
-
.I am proud of my Galician beaches but I wouldn't recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy warm waters. Perhaps using a diving rubber suit :-)Keltic, are you saying that water temperature near the Vigo beach is not "swimmable" ? if yes - sad to hear that :(

Did anybody use this service to delivery luggage from Tokyo Narita airport to your Tokyo hotel ?
We want to use Narita express without a heavy bags, so thinking of using Luggage delivery service

Thanks all for your reply. Just a quick question about the statement that cruise line will have a shuttle: what cruise line are you referring to ? We'll be cruising on board of Celebrity Millennium and I heard that Celebrity doesn't provide shuttle at all, though this can be a wrong statement...
Thanks again !

One of stop of our cruise will be Busan, South Korea: from 9:00am to 10 pm. Still hesitating to buy shore excursion, so trying to find out how much make cost taxi from cruise terminal to city center. Will it be enough time to see must favorite sightseeing and spend 3-4 hours on the beach ?

Thank you all for your reply !

Thanks Bruce. Tokyo will be our 4 days pre-cruise journey :). So, need to choose a tour in Shimizu port specifically (this is in regards my last question).
-
We have our cruise ship (Celebrity Millennium) stop in Shimizu from 7:00 am until 3:00 Pm. As time is very limited - we opted for the cruise tour, but still hesitating which one to select (see below). Any recommendation/advise ?
1. Best of Shimizu (Spend a day exploring Shimizu's unforgettable medieval castle ruins, world-heritage-listed ancient pine grove, exquisite traditional gardens, and more)
2. Shizuoka City Highlights Half Day
3. Mt Fuji and Hakone National Park
4. Shiraito Waterfalls and Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine
5. Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi

Just a quick questions: is a tourist buses stop within walking distance from the pier ?
Thanks again !

Speaking about Yokohama: is there anything that worth to spend time for ? Our cruise starts with overnight stay in Yokohama port, so second day we may spend in Yokohama only (as we'll have 4 days pre-cruise stay in Tokyo). Cruise ship offers 2.5 hour excursion "Sankeien Garden and
Yokohama City Drive Tour", so not sure if this has to be taken. If not - what to do else in Yokohama ? Thanks to whoever will reply on this

Wpgcruise, at the beginning - sarcastic tone is not appropriate for this forum. To your statement: I started this thread because I didn't have response on my question on general forum at that time - not because I didn't like someone response. Also, I'm not making any decision at this time - I'm simply gathering info. Once again: please, refrain from making any assumption or conclusion without appropriate base as this may insult your fellow cruisers
