There was a posting on FB from someone who was onboard.  It was a very violent and dangerous group of people.   There were multiple fights, damaged to the arcade, openly smoking pot and all kind of terrible stuff going on.

one passenger asked a group to stop smoking pot in front of his kids and he was jumped and beaten so severely they had to have an ambulance take him off when they arrived back.

This was after 200 out of 600 were put off the ship in Cozumel!!!  This group is sailing again on the Indy Super Bowl weekend.  I feel very sorry for anyone who doesn’t know this and sails with them!!

Royal needs to ban this group now!!  This goes way beyond the limits and severely puts other passengers in danger….

Say no more. Now we know why the group was violent and breaking many laws while onboard. It’s an entire group of people that think they are above the law…

You are making a lot of assumptions about a conversation you did not hear.  Furthermore, you do not know the current status of that engine.  That email says the engine will need maintenance; I don’t think it says the engine is currently “down.”  You do not have to assume everyone is lying

Well I was in fact lied to earlier today by multiple levels of management. In addition, there are many reports of people sharing the same experience. That is not an assumption.

You really think the email sent yesterday was sent prior to management having any idea about why the changes were made? If that was the case, RCL is managed more poorly than I anticipated. Who is hiring the people they are paying triple figures to???

Are you having difficulty with reading comprehension today?  Or are you so angry you have lost all ability to reason?  Let’s review what I posted.  The ship is seaworthy; I believe that is true.  I suggested the ship can make the max speed it needs this week in the conditions this week.  Why would you doubt that?   The Captain and HD may reasonably think that is what concerns a passenger on the current sailing.  That’s far from dishonesty at every level…stop being a drama queen.

This isn’t 1912 and people are not on the Titanic. If an engine is down and you are asked, you state that it is down and showcase how the ship can still perform less an engine. There is no reason to not be honest…

Or the Captain and HD simply thought they were re-assuring a passenger on the current sailing that the ship was completely sea worthy and could make the maximum speeds needed on the current voyage with the expected wind and sea conditions.

I believe that would be the perfect case showcasing what everyone is stating. Dishonesty at every level.

I'm on the November 12th Sailing too.  I Totally agree.  I love cruising, and I love the ship, so I'm not super disappointed, but if there was something to skip...it would be Florida.

I feel like I'm taking a cruise to nowhere.

That is exactly how I feel about now. They better over deliver on the ship otherwise this will be my last RCL cruise!

Royal has one upped that $100.

    Compensation

While your clients still get to enjoy their day onboard Anthem of the Seas, to help make up for the missed port, we will provide you with a one-day (1) cruise fare refund in the form of an Onboard Credit. This will automatically be added to your SeaPass account on boarding day. Any unused portion will be refunded to your credit card associated with your onboard folio.

For more context, one of the ship's four engines requires maintenance which impacts our speed. While this impacts our ability to deliver on the original itinerary, we're confident that it will still be an exceptional cruise vacation.

I am not going to believe it until I see it since it has been less than an hour I was told that I would be out of luck for weather issues their amazing meteorologist can see 6 weeks in advance that only effect Anthem and no other ships in the Bahamas!

I am a retired major reference lab customer service rep.  Good luck talking to a manager.  Managers manage customer service agents.  Our job was to serve customers and shield managers from phone calls.  Your best bet is to ask the agent to email concerns to a manager for some sort of resolution.  Plus no guarantee a same day response.  Call during the week managers on week end are as rare as hen’s teeth.

I have literally asked for emails from every person which they refuse to provide. ****** companies don’t like to do anything in writing unless it is at the customer’s expense…

  8. No, you are missing the point. I have been cruising with RCL for 20 years. I have had a handful of itinerary changes during that period. Stuff happens and that is life.

This is entirely a different issue and could be prevented if RCL were fair to their customers. I am now on hold and it’s looking like I am having a similar experience. RCL took all my money and then decided to change my itinerary 6 weeks before the cruise and after the point of refunds.

I would be ok if they offered a refund. So far they have not…

It's due to the ship not being able to go as fast due to propulsion issues - it wasn't a money grab gotcha tactic!  It's also not an unsafe ship, just a slower moving one.

I get that you had lousy responses and treatment from front line phone agents - that seems to be par for the course for ALL companies these days.  I'm always happy when I actually get a knowledgeable and helpful one at the start.

Lol. A person posted on the skip port thread that they are on Anthem currently and they stated there are not any propulsion issues on the ship…the lies just continue…

I was a relative newbie to cruising years ago when I booked a fall cruise on a different cruise on a different cruise line with a great itinerary.  Well, due to an issue on the prior cruise, we embarked more than a day late.  During that time a tropical storm moved uncomfortably close to our original route.  We missed the highlights of the original itinerary.  In fact, the itinerary was largely up in the air, as it seemed to change so often (thus was before apps, so communications were mostly overhead announcements and paper cruise daily).  This was far, far more disruption than missing Nassau, lol.  So, we really read the cruise contract.  We realized we had no recourse.

Never again have we booked a cruise because we just have to see a specific port or be somewhere a certain day.  We book a land vacation if we must see a certain place.  For cruises we are flexible.  If you read your contract, you may understand why we feel this way.  Again, that was a different cruise line.  I’m not defending Royal.

I can deal with weather. Nobody can do anything about.

This change was tactically made after they took all our money and far before weather could even be a remote reason for the change!

  11. Bummer to hear that this is your first experience with RCL and will be your last…but this experience will save you a lot of money in the long run!

I feel exactly the same. I am going to call today and if there is no attempt at making this right RCL is history and my shares will be sold as well.

I am not investing time or money in companies that could care any less about their customers.

It has been a long time since I was on a cruise. We drink very little alcohol so we will just put those on room cards, if I do not buy packages where/when/how do the kids access water, once in a while a soda and I access cold tea and hot coffee? I am assuming these are available in the windjammer? can you bring your on sports bottle and fill it for the day?

as for food, is it the windjammer and dining room our total options if I do not upgrade a dining package?

    thanks for the info

You will definitely starve and/or dehydrate. Definitely do not cruise.
