Any family joining us?

Here is a picture of the theater on QV that I took prior to the refit. (I don’t believe it was any different subsequently.) If memory serves me, the boxes on the left are odd numbers and the ones on the right side of the picture are even. Box #1 is on the lower tier to the left of the center loge, #2 on the right and so on. Our preferred boxes were #5 or #6 and the Grills Concierge will reserve them for you onboard. Enjoy the show!

For those who may be “on the fence” about joining the choir, I am reminded of the sage advice of conductor Robert Shaw, one of the world’s most influential proponents and innovators of the choral art in the 20th century, who said, “Singing as a part of a choir is like sex...it’s too good to be left to the professionals.”

We had 4188 for two weeks back in 2015 (prior to the refit) and have no recollection of disturbing vibrations...not sure what that may have been about. We expect that you will enjoy the peace and privacy!

Thanks so much for posting these photos.:)
The layout is very similar (from memory) to other QG cabins on the side of the ship, but with a more spectacular view. The walk to the midships lift isn't a problem, the extra exercise will be welcome.
Do you have any balcony pictures?
We have many photos from the balcony but none of the balcony itself. Prior to the refit there were chairs and a table to accommodate a meal but these have been removed. There are two lounger type chairs now along with a storage box for the cushions. In any case, there is space enough to host at least a dozen guest for a stand-up cocktail event. It's a wonderful spot on the ship!

Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone has photos of the interiors and balconies of any of these Q6 cabins on decks 4 and 5?
Any comments on pros & cons would be helpful too :)
Here are a few interior pictures from QV Suite 4192 taken on a voyage last October/November. We have enjoyed some of the Q5s and loved the corner deck on them but we liked this suite enough to have booked it for a Baltic trip in 2019.
Pro:
Quiet location (only lost souls pass your doorway!)
Lots of space
Large balcony
Con:
A long walk to the elevators to the Grills

Chewton Glen would be our recommendation. We prefer to stay in the main building...the Tree Houses were a bit isolated for our taste.

Hi there, Crane. This thread was from 2016 so we’ll miss you two this time. We were aboard Queen Victoria in the Mediterranean for three weeks in October/November but our next TAs on the QM2 will be this coming summer. Wishing you great seas to enjoy! Doug & Darby

We were aboard QV last summer for two weeks; the Friends of Dorothy LGBT meeting was listed every day in the Daily Programme. (5:00 - 5:45 PM in The Commodore Club, starboard, deck 10).

All good. If you have questions about Cunard or the crossing, let us know and we'll do our best to help.

We will be aboard for the back-to-back voyage (December 8-22). These will be our 10th and 11th trans-Atlantics on the QM2...our favorite ship. We'll look forward to saying hello at the LGBT gathering in the Comodore Club. Doug & Darby (Atlanta)

and Doug - it was only a year ago - and such a smooth crossing
Frank - 2010 eastbound - remind me to tell you about the westbound
and Gary - that crossing to remember - Friday Nov 13, 2009 when the bow windows in the Commodore Club were covered with water!
Looking foreword to seeing you all again and meeting new friends - I'm sure there are a lots who just don't get around to posting here - took me a while!

We're looking forward to seeing the two of you again and are counting down the days until we're back on board. We remember that Thanksgiving crossing in 2009, too! There were quite a few people who stayed in their suites for a few days but not us...we enjoyed every minute of it. Victor, our butler, met us as we came out of our room one morning and noticed how much we were enjoying the wild weather. He told us, "you two are my only sailors!" We're hoping for (at least) a little rockin' and rollin' on this trip but in any case, we'll see you in the Commodore! Doug & Darby

Hey guys, we'll be on board with you! We spent a few days in Berlin before our QM2 crossing from Hamburg last year. We enjoyed being back there, but with luck, you won't be staying at the Ritz-Carlton...we were not happy campers (and they knew it!). We will be spending the week before this crossing at Chewton Glen, a big favorite of ours. Enjoy your time across the pond...we'll see you in the Commodore.

My husband and I will be on this crossing. We'll look forward to saying hello!

I feel your pain!
This August we have a QM2 Norway trip planned which is bookended with transatlantic crossings in each direction. We have already done an even dozen crossings on that ship so I don’t feel the need to document the voyage, but this will be our first visit to the fjords. Thoughts of lugging my camera equipment have had me giving a good bit of thought to alternatives.
I gave serious consideration to the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 but, in the end, purchased the FreeFly Movi gimbal to pair with my iPhone 11 Pro. There is a serious difference in price between the two, but the Movi seemed to me to be more like a piece of camera equipment that would last. Both gimbals have multiple positive reviews online.
In the few weeks that I’ve had to play with the Movi, I am very much impressed with the stability and smoothness of the video I’ve shot. I am using FilMic Pro on my phone rather than the built-in camera software. It allows you to control white balance, focus, frame-rate, etc. and is well worth considering, too.
In any event, enjoy traveling light and, since you have seen the fjords, let me know if you think I might regret not hauling my Nikon!
