The excursions that were canceled for me were both in Sydney NS. The first was “A Taste of the Cabot Trail”. I then booked a bird watching cruise on Cape Brenton Island which was also canceled. I don’t remember the exact name of the second excursion. Both were canceled due to low bookings.

Sorry, the Cabot Trail was cancelled.  It was a great tour, when the weather was good.  First time, weather was bad, 2nd was great.

does not look like your questions were answered. Let me give it a try...

Shampoo - Yes, Shower has Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner dispensers. Hand soap dispenser also by the sink (since COVID - no more bar soap)

Hair Driers are provided (typically in the cabinet next to the desk). FYI: NO Heat producing devices of any are permitted - and no surge protectors of any kind either.

You can cancel the pre-paid cruise tour - I think up to 3 days before the cruise on-line - money is refunded the source funding. Can also cancel on-board - cut-off times can vary so check with the excursion desk. Good thing about doing HAL excursions is - if the tours is cancelled - they automatically refund. We just had a tour - and the tour cancelled the dinner portion for some reason - we got a partial refund the next day - credit to OBC.

Hope that answers some of your questions

Thanks.  Pretty much like RCl.  You seem to be HAL regulars.  Is it true that there is a Catholic Priest on every cruise?  We have a 5 week cruise scheduled for 2022.  Five weeks without mass is a problem.

    Thanks.

  3. Hello.  My husband and I are experienced cruisers, but usually travel or RCCL or X.  Chose HAL for the VOV itenerary.  Can't wait.  Does HAL provide shampoo and hairdryers in all cabins?  Do they offer port talks & cruise tour reviews?  What is their tour cancellation policy?  We've chosen our tours and I want to book now (want to get before they are full, & want to feel we're making progress towards cruising again), but want to be able to change our minds.

Thanks in advance for the information.  We're looking forward to our first HAL cruise.  Based on the research I've been doing on HAL, they may become our go to cruise line.

  4. We've done this cruise 3 times, this is #4.  Northbound, you fill out a Canadian immigration form on board and drop in a box near Customer Service.  No line.  YEAH!

Normally on the Southbound trip, the morning you get to Portland, you stand in line for US Immigration.  It is usually pretty fast, they do it by either cabin numbers or C&A levels or Early shore excursions. (can't remember which).

Customs is when we get off the ship at Port Liberty.  They usually give you the form in advance, you fill it out, and after picking up your luggage, you go to the person in the kiosk, hand them your form and passports, and off you go.  I've  never been stopped for a more thorough search.

I don't know what is going to happen this time.  I'm just hoping for the best.
