  1. Thank you, Buckeye 10640 and Thrak for the responses.  I'll carry both the email and the card info just to be safe.  For anyone reading this, the link Thrak is referring to is the "Get Your Reward" link in red beneath the order #, date ordered, etc.  Whenever you're cruising, have a fantastic time!

  2. For those of you who go to Guest Services to have the gift card amount applied to your account, it's not an actual card, it's the e-gift card number and PIN printed on a piece of paper, correct?  I have purchased one gift card thus far because I wanted to make sure it would be received and that I could apply it to my balance due.  It worked perfectly.  I would like to buy a few extra to use onboard, but I want to make sure if I'm presenting to Guest Services that I don't need a physical card, just the card number and PIN that comes to my email account.  Thanks.

  3. I travel with a carry on (store in overhead bin) and a back pack for 10 day cruises, and generally have a couple of things I never wear/use.  I do try to coordinate scarves, sweaters, dresses, etc. for more than one use.  Works fine for me.

Hi, looking for some help and/or best practice re back to back cruises. We have 3 b2b cruises out of Miami all with Royal Caribbean. Our first cruise is to Cuba so we will be bringing at least 4 bottles of rum back with us. We would expect to be able to put this in our luggage rather than carry it through. We also expect to get one or 2 other bottles of spirits at our other ports of call. Do the cases get scanned and could the booze get removed or queried?

Also, any tips for smooth swap over days. Anticipating having to wait around in the terminal or ideally handing our bags in and then getting transportation into Miami for a walk around

    thanks

    Pam

I don't know if it was here on Cruise Critic or somewhere else, but I've read to check with the Concierge as to whether they can arrange to have your bags transferred from one ship to another.  It appears that some people have had success with the cruise line transferring their bags and others haven't.  My friend and I are doing a B2B from Allure to Navigator in February and would love to be free of our luggage on the day we transfer from Allure to Navigator.

  5. Hi there.  My friend and I will be cruising on Allure of the Seas in February, followed by a cruise on Navigator of the Seas, basically back to back, just two different ships.  My friend is thinking of booking the Hop On/Hop Off bus tour in Miami so that we'll have something to do between the time we leave the Allure and board the Navigator.  If anyone has taken this tour who was also going to board another ship the same day, could you answer the following questions:

    1.  It appears from the video that your luggage is taken to another vehicle when you board the hop on/hop off bus.  Is that correct, or does your luggage stay on the hop on/hop off bus?  (The tour ends with a shuttle to the airport.)  We would want our luggage to stay with us since we're heading back to the ship.

    2.  Has anyone been successful in having your luggage taken from the first ship to the second ship by ship staff or dock workers?   If yes, how did you arrange that transfer?

    3.  Has anyone gone on the hop on/hop off bus tour and then had the bus deliver you back to the cruise terminal?

    4.  Any other thoughts on how we could be free of our luggage from the time we leave Allure to the time we board the Navigator.  (Don't know if the Navigator would be accepting luggage that early.)

    Thanks.

  6. I will be on her Feb 24th- which i think is the first cruise out of drydock. May not do a live review (vacation with some girl friends and things could get a little crazy) but will take notes and look for anything specific that is requested as we get closer

My friend and I will be on the February 24th cruise as well. Neither of us has ever been on the Navigator, or any ship right after refurbishment. We'll be on the Allure the previous week.

  7. Hello. My traveling companion wants to book a RCCL sponsored excursion in Haiti -- Luxury Sailing Yacht. Does anyone have any feedback on this excursion? The description is below. Some of the comments here on Cruise Critic have me wondering if it's safe to do this. (I doubt RCCL would be sponsoring it if they believed it to be unsafe, but would like feedback if anyone has gone on this excursion). Thanks.

Cruise the Caribbean Sea on an extravagant sailing yacht as you head out into the sparkling, turquoise waters of Labadee. Climb aboard a one of a kind, 62-foot luxury sailing yacht as your captain and crew navigate past scenic islands and barrier reefs. You and a very limited number of guests will savor cold beverages while lounging on the yacht's spacious deck—sailing past local fishermen and seaside villages. Along the way you'll drop anchor in secluded bays and remote islands for a refreshing swim, or sit back and relax on the oversized sun beds and lounge chairs while listening to some cool island music as an attentive crew caters to your every need.

  8. We just did the BOGO and got Giovannis and Samba for the time I had requested. I called and told them I wanted Park 150 and Chops and was able to get Chops for the time I wanted but had to settle for an 830 dining time for Park150. After all was said and done, it was worth it (even if I don't really like to have such a late dinner). The restaurants ended up costing $20 each so that's actually a better deal than 50% off.

Did you have to go on the 1st and 2nd nights, or did they allow you to change nights?

  9. Hi there! My friends and I will be cruising on the Allure in February 2019. In looking at the dining packages, I see they have a BOGO offer for the specialty restaurants. It appears this BOGO offer is for dinner on the first and second nights of the cruise. I contacted our Royal Caribbean Vacation Planner and was told that someone will meet with us once we board and we'll then make our reservations for the specialty restaurants. My questions are:

    1. Will we be able to select the restaurants of our choice?

    2. Will we be assigned specialty restaurants based on what restaurants are available for our selected dining time for the first and second nights?

    3. If we reserve and pay, will we receive a refund if we aren't pleased with the selection of restaurants for the first and second nights once we're onboard?

    Thanks much.

  10. It appears that Chef's Table is part of the specialty dining package -- is that correct? We've attended Chef's Table on another cruise line, but we had to submit our names and were then selected to attend Chef's Table. Does everyone who purchases the specialty dining package have the opportunity to attend Chef's Table?

    Love all the tips.

  11. We’re doing a 9 day cruise on Jewel in January from Miami and then switching to Allure the day we get back. Does RCCI have a process for embarking before general boarding or will we need to find something to do to kill some time after we get off the Jewel?

    Thanks

Thanks, ddberry, for posting this question. We are doing the same in February, but on different ships (Allure first, then switching to Navigator) and I was wondering if RCCL had a procedure for those transferring to different ships.
  12. Hello. We have a cruise scheduled for February 2019 on Allure of the Seas. It will be our first time on a cruise ship this large. I'm seeing posts on Facebook that indicate you should schedule the shows as soon as you're onboard. Would someone enlighten me as to show scheduling? Are the same shows offered on different days at different hours, is there a cost, etc.? Thanks.
