Bon Voyage!
After checking the sponsons the spotlight concentrated on the bow. The boat has now moved on.
Also, some welding work on one of the sponsons was going on, white glow and some small red embers falling.
Looks like some welding is going on on the port side now

Something is going on with Concordia.
At about 2:30 (Italy time) there was a couple of large flashes of red that came out the side. Then there was a lot of smoke and red embers falling out. If you look at the front sponsons, next to them there are 6 white pole looking objects. Whatever took place was above the 2 on the left.
Looks like some welding going on. Don't know if it is re-enforcing some stuff or was part of the plan

Looks like they are done or very close it

Incredible!
I wonder how much jiggery-pokery they had to do to the blister tank to keep the forward part of the ship from snapping off
Wow

An enhanced look at the damage:

Thank you. I'm looking for another angle and thought you might have it. Will keep watching Reuters
Ship seems to be coming up fast - or faster than before
On the webcams - when they are available - the ship almost looks upright
-
The Reuters feed. And I have not seen that camera appear again.
It's kind of eerie seeing the ship in this angle at this moment. It is about the same angle, but sitting higher in the water of course, that many of the famous pictures of the ship listing and the water up to deck 3 or 4 with a large number of passengers still onboard were taken. That day it was still bright from the emergency lights. Now it is dark, ugly and truly a ghost ship. So sad. :(
Thank you. I'm looking for another angle and thought you might have it. Will keep watching Reuters

Yes, there is damage visible near the stern but seems to be a wider area and not nearly as destroyed as the other section because the area between decks in the balconies of what I think are decks 7, 8 and 9 is stil recognizable. The starboard bridge wing is likely beginning to rise from the water. The ship is now rotating at a noticeable rate. I have the live feed full screen in my 32 inch TV and when they put the close range view you can see things slowly disappearing on the right edge.
And as I write this they just put another camera showing the damaged starboard section near the stern. That was one of the cameras used to show the towers during daylight.
Hi Luisrp, which feed are you watching?
-
Looks like the stern on the starboard side got curshed too
-
Wow. You can definitely tell where the ship has been resting under the weight of itself on the 2 mountain peaks. They weren't kidding when they said there was significant damage.
That looks very significant. I wonder what the implications are for attaching starboard side sponsons.

Wow!!!
That WON'T buff right out

OK its been a long day but what I understand is that they started filling the caissons and the strand jacks are now redundant. The pace is determined by Nick Sloane who can take her down quickly or slowly. This should be a maximum of 4 hours but could be a lot quicker. The ship is aligned perfectly for the platform.
I started this at 5am and it is now 23.25 all bst so I reckon if I can do18 hours 25 minutes I can do another couple of hours. What do you reckon.
Go for it
Just another couple of hours
BTW - Thanks for starting this thread. I've found this whole endeavor fascinating and this thread has added immense value
-
They're saying another 4 hours with the next press conference at 2am their time.
Mumsy.
Thank you
-
Did they say another few hours to go? That's what I'm seeing on twitter
-
Passed the 24 degree threshold, started phase 2 - flooding sponsons
-
Looks like it is press conference time on the live feed

You all probably know about this site
http://www.kielmonitor.de/kino.php?cam=concordia
but I haven't seen it linked in this thread. You can playback the panoramic webcam from any day over the almost last 2 years
Apologies if has already been posted and I missed it
Also, for those on twitter

Yes, the bow is coming up. I suspect there will be at least another deck above water by tomorrow morning.
