  1. So now it appears a 7nt B2B may be option instead of 14nt. How does that work in Civ (Rome)? Would we be able to leave bags if we are in same room? Do we have to disembark? And if you had options of 5025 star or 5032 port which would you choose? Or worth it to pay $800 more for 6125 for 14 nt? Thanks again! So helpful.

  2. Hi everyone. We are considering Cunard for first time on QV 14-not Mediterranean. It’s this or Azamara 10nt. A few questions that haven’t been as easy to find in searching the boards:

Britannia balcony 8165 is this an OK cabin or worth $600 more for a cabin on 5 or 6?
Will it be difficult to get a table for 2 in MDR? We are assigned a specific table?  We don’t mind late dining or even waiting for a table while having cocktails, but wondering if we should choose anytime then and just wait for a table.
We were planning to get drinks package so we wouldn’t have to think about cost onboard. That does include soft drinks? And are the menus on the website current or does anyone have a recent one? We typically enjoy Grey Goose dirty martinis, sparkling champagne or rose, wine with dinner, and sometimes after dinner drinks. Looks like grey goose martini is curiously $13.60 on bar menu or 10 cents above limit which means not covered, and no sparkling rose or champagne under that amount is listed either. Obviously we could drink Prosecco and choose another vodka, but does makes us pause and go back to Azamara since it’s $1000pp for the drink package. No premium option right?

And sorry in advance for this silly one, but do you have to wear your tux or formalwear in the casino on Cunard?

    Thanks and happy cruising!

  3. This will be my fourth celebrity cruise but the previous three were all S Class. I have always stayed in Aqua2 rooms in the aft (1626, 1630, 1644) and loved the rooms. Booked now on the Connie for Greece and am wondering if it is better to go with the AQ2 again on the 9th floor or the AQ1 (currently am assigned to 1111).  I’ve read mixed things on both (such as overhang on 9 which I have never minded on S class assuming it’s the same and potential noise on 11 from the movie screen above).  What would you more seasoned cruisers recommend—stay with 1111 or move down?  I like to relax on the balcony some in the mornings and afternoons, and should it rain do the balconies get really wet on 11?  Oh, and this will be after the ship has been revolutionized if that matters. Thanks in advance for your help!

  4. Steak 954 was one of the options was considering, especially now that we are staying at the W. We like all kinds of food..fine dining to casual. We would like to find a nice elegant bar for drinks first (ritz maybe?) and then go to dinner. What about kaluz? Serafina? Blue moon? Coconuts? Those are ones I've read about so far...any other suggestions for bar or restaurant?

  5. Thanks for your response. The locations of those I listed I assume were Ok--we will just take a taxis for dinner and to the port. But, I didn't know if the pelican was too far north? I was thinking we would just walk around the beach/las olas and have dinner somewhere that night. Most of those listed were on the beach because I thought that might be nice, but I'm open to suggestions.

  6. Please help me decide which hotel to stay at for one night pre cruise in Fort Lauderdale. I have some points that I am going to cash in for a room. I really would like to have something nice since it will be my travel companion's first time to the area.

    Here are my options:

    W Ft Lauderdale

    Westin

    Atlantic Hotel and Spa

    Marriott Beach Place Towers

    Sonesta

    Pelican Grand Beach Resort

    Courtyard by Marriott FL Beach

    B Ocean FL

    Sun Tower

Which one would you choose and why? Are there any you would avoid and why? I've read reviews on all but really want the cruisers' perspectives. Thanks so much!

  7. Is it common for them to run out of wines on cruises? The same thing happened to us on eclipse last year as RickT, by day 2 they were out of champagne, day three the Bordeaux...which meant we were forced to drink the cheaper wines by the glass. I began to wonder if that was an intentional plan for them to make money off of us who were on the premium package. Trying to decide if should just go with classic package next time for that reason?

  8. Has anyone else experienced that they "conveniently" were out of some of the more expensive drinks/wines? We had the premium package and on our cruise after the second day they didn't have anymore Chandon in Blu and offered only the prosecco and then two days later said we could only get the cava (which was on classic). This was also case with the red wines. I just hope this was an anomaly and not a ploy by celebrity to get you to pay to upgrade to premium and then have less premium choices available. We have upgraded to premium on next cruise, too, but hoping won't regret!

  9. Thanks, Phoenix dream! That's what I was worried about. In trains I must face forward... I had absolutely no motion sickness on my first and only cruise last year in the Mediterranean but have read the Caribbean may be rougher. I'm still trying to decide if I want 1623 instead of 1646. I just don't know if I will like the bed by the balcony and I read a comment about smelling smoke on the balcony of 1623 so may just stay with 1646 and risk potentially more motion! Difficult decision...

  10. I've looked on spreadsheet and online and cannot find easily. Does room 1646 on the Equinox have the bed by the balcony or the bath? The other option is 1623 port side, but I think the bed is by the balcony for it. I would like to sleep facing the direction the boat is traveling to potentially avoid motion sickness if possible. I've only been on one cruise and had NO motion issues whatsoever, so not sure if the bed position even matters. Would you book 1623 instead (for 10 day ultimate Caribbean) because port side and closer to elevators? I just wondered if the bed position even matters. Thanks in advance for you experts out there!

  11. I am also on the Eclipse so maybe it is ship-related. The sommelier commented that they ran out because essentially they guessed the number of bottles wrong, but running out of both after a week seemed odd to me. And apparently they don't get new shipments.

Luckily the one bottle I brought on board was bubbly to celebrate my birthday...so at least I did that!

  12. Hello all. I'm currently sailing on my first cruise and hope to write a proper review later of my impressions and pros and cons of my experience. But until then...

I do have a question for those of you more experienced X cruisers. Is it usual for them to run out of champagne on day 4 of the 14 day cruise and then two days later run out of Cava...? Now they only have prosecco as a sparkling option. I have the premium package and feel kinda slighted...sure there are other alcohol options, so I will manage. But if this is common I think I would reconsider purchasing a premium beverage package. The limited alcohol selections (not just sparkling) and poor bar service have been the most disappointing things about the cruise so far. More to come...
