I would say deck 4 as well, though I'm one to like a bit more traffic. I hung out on the Promenade on 5 a lot. The computer room (Deck 8), if you like that kind of thing, started out as a place of quietude, but got worse toward the end of the 3/23 sailing.

I'm still going (Mar 23 on RCI Freedom), but this event did catch me offguard. However, as my mother has said to me many tmes before, "expect the unexpected". I could wind up with a myocardial infarction and need to be air evaced off the ship by the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard or some such thing.
So, I can't just not do it. I can't spend my whole life in my condo.

I haven't cruised yet. And, for the record, I'm not wishing any heart attacks on anybody. But it would be interesting to see a Coast Guard chopper land on the ship's pad.

When I was in the Boise airport last fall, I noticed a local Subaru dealership had a new Outback station wagon parked inside. Now, I know that the Royal C. Freedom that I will embark on in March does have an antique car parked on the promenade. I do find that kind of classy. But I reckon there's no dealer space for "Subaru van Sint Maarten" onboard for the '15 Forrester. :D

I'm Cory. 37 (38 in Dec), from San Diego. I'll be embarking with a group at Pt. Canaveral, bound for Coco Cay, Charlotte Amalie, and St. Maarten. It will be my first cruise. I'm kind of a travel buff, though. Nice to get out of the city, and I do love planes, trains and automobiles (uncle works at Boeing near Seattle).
Other than travel, I like soccer, tennis and gymnastics, all NCAA. Sometimes that entails travel.

I've lost 15 lbs and DH has lost 18. I can't wait to try a Guys, have some warm chocolate melting cake, the fish and chips station, and the list goes on. :D I will have 5 days after the cruise before my weight watchers weigh in.
I work out, but I'm a bit too friendly with food. I have proven I can lose, but I have also proven I can gain as well. I just go up and down.
My father, in a thankfully non-judgemental way, warned me that people on cruises usually gain a bit. I'm guessing the ship is such that you'll want to see, do, and of course, eat everything. KInd of like Las Vegas syndrome (I think that's what it's called).
It was a very good warning, but now that makes my weight loss an even more frantic endeavor.
Ah, well. I'm 230 now. Iknow I cannot safely hit my norm of 188 lbs by late March , but if I have constant, and tangible, momentum in the new year until then, I will be thrilled.

lol...we do that for convenience.... doesn't automatically flag you as a newbie.
might have something to do with the fact that we're used to it because our job id's are on a lanyard too...
and I don't usually have pockets in what I'm wearing. :D
I'm reliant on a fannypack, rather than my pockets, so actually a lanyard sounds good. I am a cruise virgin (3/14). But a lanyard sounds better than stuffing my fanny pack like a turkey (or like a person on Thanksgiving).

haven't been on this site for a few years but i remember reading a thread similar. had some great replies. looked but couldn't find it so I'll just start this one!
for me it is a mimosa ASAP!
I've never been on a cruise. I will be in March (RCCL - Freedom). I reckon I'll first just want to turn on the TV and flip my way around the "dial" so I don't need to flip much later. Lay down on the bed and watch TV for a bit. Also, did I hear "chocolate under the pillow"? That sounds good!
As soon as I am done decompressing from being in the embarcation crowd, I'll probably venture out and look at the schedule on the TVs in the hall (I thought I saw that's how it worked), and then walk the promenade.

Hmmmm. I tend to use pineapple as topping quite a bit, but I vary things quite a bit. I can go for a traditional cheese pizza or I can get behind a lot of what California Pizza Kitchen has.
I could go for peanut sauce, chicken, pepperoni, pineapple and swiss right now (but I don't feel like making it).
Opinions on Casey Pelter?

I really loved his morning show. Not crazy about his mingling with the crowds at the various parties on the promenade, but I hate crowds, anyway, so, it wasn't him.
