Dear G, Thank you, you are very kind. It was fun. Had nothing better to do since we no longer sightsee. The ship is our destination. If you enjoyed this thread, please check out my thread on our June 2 NCL Haven H6 aft penthouse review a couple weeks ago, Observations from the Breakaway Haven. Also please stay tuned for my' Observations from the MSC Yacht Club'. We snagged the Royal Suite #16037,coming up July 20 in a couple of weeks. I only hope my observations are as poignant. I plan on putting together a comparison of these three 'ship within a ship' venues that cruise out of South Florida. Thank you again for your kind words. RC
Thanks for all the pictures and reviews. I would be very interested in your comparison of all three. We do some sight seeing but we can only travel during the fall (alas, work gets in the way) and we have been to most ports during those months, especially with Celebrity. Thus we enjoy the ship more and have started booking suites since we aren't spending any money on excursions or in the ports. We would be willing to try another cruise line but are hesitant as we have soooo enjoyed Celebrity.
Thanks again.

thank you for your review. we are going on regent this winter for the first time and are a bit anxious about trying a smaller (all-inclusive) ship.

So should we start the rumor now or wait until Navigator is out of drydock?

Thanks for all the information about your trip. We are booked on the Navigator for our first cruise with Regent. We have been on many cruises prior but never on something as small as this. I am "worried" that we will be spoiled by this experience. We are traveling with my parents (late 70's and mid 80's) and my brother and his wife. My parents have traveled on Regent many times and have always really enjoyed it. We are not going until December and are traveling in the South Pacific for 11 nights. Wish we could do longer trips but alas, we still have to work.
Thanks again for sharing your experience. Any advise or insight is greatly appreciated.
--Anxiously awaiting this trip from NE GA.

I dont have any idea how they choose. But we “moved up” from a sky suite to a royal for not much $$. We did book directly with celebrity originally. We only found out about our new suite 4 days before sailing.

Our chef was not allowed to make purchases at the market we toured, but another chef went into town and bought provisions from a 'certified' vendor. [The market in Cozumel is very small, so the quantity needed would have wiped out the vendor's supply.] The local guide who actually led us through the market did arrange for those who wanted to buy empanadas, and he later bought everyone frozen fruit treats. The tour had started with a chocolate factory that included tastings, also a tequila tasting place, and included lunch at a restaurant in town. The chef then cooked our group a special dinner on board that had all Yucatan-themed recipes and was really really good [and lots of food – it was a 'tasting' menu but with full entree-sized portions!] So at the end of the day we felt we had gotten our money's worth. Note that when Celebrity offers a 20%-off sale on shore excursions they do include the Chef's Market Discoveries, and the list price for the tour was lower when it was first posted – so jump on it as early as you can!
- We are looking at the Chef's Market Discoveries tour too but we were wondering if there was a lot of seafood and fish as DH is not a fan of either.

thanks for posting what you actually got with the "upgrade".

I totally agree with Kitcito and Cruise Raider...we love AQ cabins and perks and now have trouble not booking this class of cabins. I especially enjoy the heated tile loungers and the food (and service) in Blu. hope you have a wonderful cruise!!

thanks for the review. we almost booked this cruise and are now regretting it but at least we can experience parts of it thru this review.
thanks again....

I was able to order the discounted beverage package on Friday. The glitch appears to be fixed. I don't remember who I spoke to but used option 2 on the captain's club line. The rep sent a confirmation e-mail and reissued my e-docs to show the beverage package purchase.
Thanks for the info. Tried again tonite and per rep. Done. Shows on reservation but no email confirmation yet. Will try to reissue docs in morning.
Sorry you had issue too but glad to know not just us.

we have not been able to get the beverage package discount thru captain's club. they keep claiming there is a 'glitch in the coding'. has anyone been successful? and if so, can you please share who you spoke to.
thanks!!

A word of caution....one time DH dropped off our carry on briefcase in cabin when first boarded and went to lunch. When we came back it was gone. The cabin stewart thought it belonged to prior cruise and had sent to customs! It was quite an ordeal to get back and had important personal items like all our medicines in it. Thankfully, they did find it and return it to our cabin!
