I contacted Barefoot Bermuda. They suggested we take a ferry to Hamilton which would cut down on travel time from the ship. Would this make sense ? Do you recall how long the ride was to your first stop?

Fab news ! Have enjoyed many a night with him at the piano. I better start practicing in The shower.
I hope the dueling piano thing fails miserably. Someone has made a huge mistake with that idea.

How about the zaandam , November 22 2016 South America sailing?
Anybody know who the piano player is ?
I hope it isn't HALs intention to do away with the traditional piano bars
One of the reasons I chose HAL..and a big one ..is because of their piano bars.
i can go on any line that doesn't have one.

Usually sail with HAL , when we bring the grandkids we go NCL.
Recently on the Breakaway to Bermuda, been on the Eurodam several times.
The NCL experience is not really my kinda trip, especially on sea days. If you want to party by the pool NCL is for you. If you actually want to use the pool that's not the ship for you. We had a fabulous aft cabin and I spent A LOT of time on our balcony. The kids loved the ship, tons of things to keep em busy.
One of the things I like best on HAL is dining with other people. On those trips it's usually just hubs n me and have met the most interesting folks that way. That doesn't seem to be encouraged on NCL.
The on board daytime activities were more to my liking on HAL.
It's all a matter of what you are looking for in a cruise . Looking to party..go NCL. Looking for a relaxing vaca, go HAL.

Thank you all...we are off shortly.
Interesting about the port charges, I had looked at booking this cruise to Bermuda but nixed it when I saw the prices. Now I know why !
Alls well that ends well...

Appreciate all the suggestions, we have rented a boat for Tuesday and guess will try to hit the beaches Monday and Wednesday.

Thanks for the suggestions, now that the initial shock of the change has worn off I can see that there's plenty of things to keep us occupied.
The transportation to and from the ship what with buses, ferries, cabs and vans is confusing but I'm sure we'll sort it out.

The NCL website says Royal Naval Yard.
I'm on that ship, do you think we'll have to tender?

spent an enormous amount of time planning for the ports we were going to but just got word that because of Erica our ship is going to Bermuda for 3 days instead. We leave Saturday and just don't have a lot of time to look into it.
It's me, my husband, our daughter and son in law and our 3 grandchildren, 12, 9 and 7 years.
We are on the NCL Gem, it doesn't have excursions listed for us yet.
Looking for suggestions on what to do that's fun for all...

Thanks all...I thought they would have a spot under ports of call not just departures...I was wrong again!
-
I see key west under ports of call but not any others, specifically port canaveral.
I see there is info on hotels etc for the other Florida ports but nothing else.
Am I missing it somehow ?

Wouldn't it be nice if HAL donated the Walk for a Cause donations to aid the Philippines for a couple of weeks?

My husband, the Iceman, uses a semi- softsided Coleman cooler with retractable handle and wheels as his carry on , its "refreshed" twice a day and we never lack for ice or icy cold soda and beer.
