  1. Our's were added in 2 stages - infact we are still waiting for one night to be announced. We have booked for one night to see Jaki Graham at £22 each but in the last couple of days I see that the prices for all shows has gone up to £25 per evening. Has anyone else noticed this?

  2. Sorry for the late reply. The price is for a round trip however I certainly wont be going with the guy who has given this price as he has put a time limit on the tour! 25 minutes from the port to Pigeon Point, 25 minutes for return and a total of 2hrs 30 minutes for the entire trip - so not very long at the beach! Think we will grab a taxi when we dock and maybe join other people!! Not impressed.

  3. Hi,

We will be arriving Sunday 31st December 2017.

We would like to take a taxi to Pigeon point beach, would someone be kind enough to let me know the current prices please? and also whether there will be plenty of taxis available on this day?

    thanks

I have just been quoted 50USD for 2 people - hope this helps.

  4. Joining Britannia on Friday 5 January 2018 - overnight in port - Saturday 6 January all day in Barbados and sail that evening/night. Looking at P & O Sunset and champagne cruise on the Saturday evening Does anyone know what time this leaves and returns please? Would we miss muster drill?

  5. We flew from Gatwick to Barbados to join Azura last January and had a fab time. Yes, you will get two meals. The first one is about 2 hours into your flight - I think we had a hot meal of chicken, potatoes, veg and gravy followed by a desset and then tea or coffee. Just before you land there is another meal but canot remember what it included - possibly something like afternoon tea. There is no charge for these meals - the only cost is if you have anything other than tea or coffee. Enjoy!

  6. Going on Arcadia to Norway in May:

    Day one - at sea

    Day 2 - Stavenger

    Day 3 - Olden

    Day 4 - Flaam

    Day 5 - Bergen

    Day 6 - at sea

Day one will obviously be a formal night but does anyone, who has previously been on a similar cruise, know which other night it will be?

Partners birthday on day 5 and I dont want to book Sindhu when its a formal night!

  7. We are on this cruise too!! A big Birthday for me on 3rd Jan.

Am loving this report and taking notes:D

My birthday on 6th January but not a big one this year! Are you flying on the 5th or 6th from Gatwick? We fly on the 5th so I can have my birthday in Barbados.

I started a roll call for our cruise last week.

  8. In Barbados there are some seats just outside the shopping arcade at the cruise port. Very good reception usually. Also inside the arcade but only towards the exit. Hope this helps.

  9. Hi Dean

We were with you on Azura at Christmas/New Year. We did RCI last year on Serenade of the Seas and we were comparing RCI and P & O.

P & O have tea and coffee facilities in staterooms - RCI dont have these.

The food is better on P & O.

The staff are much, much more helpful and cheerful on RCI.

On our P & O cruise virtually everyone was British - RCI cater for passengers from a multitude of countries.

P & O let you take as much drink on board as you like - RCI only let you have 2 bottles of wine on embarkment day.

I'm not sure which one I'd now choose - think it would come down to destinations and prices!

This is just what I think though - other people may have other views!

  10. Was on The Fantasy at Amber Cove last week. The Aqua Park at the port is free and there is a LOT of loungers. Top of the line pool. We loved it. We also did the panoramic view tour of Puerto Plata. Lasted 3 hrs @$29.95 per person.

Will be at Amber Cove at the end of December:). Stll haven't made up our minds of what to do there - I know the port hasn't been open very long but very little feed back is coming from people who have already docked there. Are there taxis' waiting at the port to take passengers on tours like other Caribbean ports? Any recommendations? Who did you do your tour with?

  11. second question if they send larger denominations is there anywhere I can change for 1 dollar bills etc

I suppose you can request 1 dollar bills when you place your order especially if you place your order by phone.

My local Sainsburys were pretty good and gave me a variety of notes as they keep a fair amount on site anyway.

  12. Sainsburys have a money sale on at the moment but I think it finishes tomorrow. You can order on-line to be collected in store or delivered to your home.

Dont forget you will need a few Euros as well.

  13. I am also on this cruise and join the ship on December 25th and i put up another thread regarding this.

This cruise is termed as a New Year cruise not a Christmas one. We will arrive in Barbados around 4 and will be lucky if we are onboard before 6pm and I think many will be the same.

If it was to be a proper formal night, then half of the ship won't be there till the following day and the other half are on their last night. Also Azura do 4 formal nights. That would mean half would miss out on one of these nights. I can't see that happening.

It's not that I'm objecting. I think it will still be a lovely night with a nice meal for our first night onboard, should we choose to stay on and not head out.

We're on this cruise as well. Agree with you 100%. Really cant see our first night being formal + some of us will be to tired on our first night!
