We are cruising on Sky on April 10 with departure from La Romana at 8:30 pm.

Our first port is Isla Catalina arriving at 7 am the next day.

I'm aware that this island is about 5 miles away so my question is to anyone on or just off the Sky,  what does the ship do from La Romana departure?...are we traveling really slow and doing "figure 8's" until the morning?

We will be staying in Punta Cana for 3 days before the cruise 

I'm wondering if anyone who has recently sailed from La Romana can tell me what time check- in started...we sail at 8:30 pm as well.

Just looking to book a transfer from our hotel in Punta Cana to the LA Romana cruise port so wanted to know a time frame.

My husband and I will be on the June 10 cruise...we can't wait to see Siglo again...it's been over 5 years since we've seen them and rocked out with them on Epic in the Mediterranean. They are a very talented group of performers that's for sure.

It is listed under Lester B  Pearson airport on the list

 

Loved your review...sorry you came down with the "cruise crud"...have been a victim of that a few times on past cruises.

I think we will be cruise mates on Breakaway in Feb...will probably see you around the bars for sure...our favourite bartender and her husband are on this ship and they will take very good care of us for sure.

Any one just off the Epic who can share the latest dailies...just looking for what kind of entertainment is playing in the Cavern Club now that Siglo is not onboard any longer...we are sailing on Sunday to the Med (our 6th time on Epic) and were just curious about the entertainment this year

We love her so much that we are also booked on the Oct 28th cruise...our 3rd Med cruise and 6th time on Epic since 2016.

Glad to see some fellow Ontarians on board with us.

Two posts, #4 and #13 claimed robbery. Neither of these actually fit the description. Burglary, theft and pickpocketinng are non-confrontational while robbery is through confrontation and force which is much more traumatic.

 

Thieves and pickpockets are very savvy and the stories are mind-blowing. They prey on naive travellers. I would NEVER travel with a billfold. My passport and 90% of my money are in a money belt around my waist or under my shirt. Anybody's hands go there, they had better buy me dinner.

What we went through was in fact very traumatic....I haven't been able to sleep more than a few hours at a time since...thinking about what could have happened to us if there had been a confrontation while they were in our suite in the other room stealing my purse.

We were at Novotel Barcelona Cornella about 15 min from the airport right near the highway.. totally an "inside" job...absolutely horrible.. they broke in again when they sent us to the police station to file a report after midnight!

Barcelona is very unsafe...we were robbed in our hotel suite while we slept in the bedroom 2 weeks ago.

Lost passports, all our cash, credit cards ..inside job for sure.

Missed 2 days of our Epic cruise...had to fly to meet the ship in Naples after getting emergency passports...a total nightmare...but we are thankful we are alive to tell the story

The hotel was right off the highway about 15 min from the airport and quite near the subway station that took us to the Canadian consulate to get emergency passports. I think you could add breakfast at check in.

Yes we were able to join our cruise in Naples on Day 3...we had to get flights from Barcelona.

We were at the Novotel Barcelona Cornella. We were in an upgraded suite with separate bedroom and they broke in while we were napping in the early evening after we had been traveling all night from Toronto then toured Barcelona all day until we could check in. Some type of alarm either fire, smoke or emergency door alarm woke me up but I think this was the decoy used so we wouldn't hear anything...it was a grab and go for sure but they came back in later when we were at the police station reporting it and took a few more things from our luggage...the hotel denies entry and says it was our own cards which was impossible since we weren't even there.. they are such liars

Be very careful in Barcelona..we were robbed in our hotel room 2 weeks ago tomorrow while we were asleep.

They took my purse with all our cash, credit cards and most importantly our passports....BEWARE!
