  1. When I look at the interior room on deck 1 that we are in, it looks like there is only a bed, and a desk with a chair. There is what looks like a big empty space next to the bed with no chair or seating! Not even a bed table. Has anyone been in these rooms? Is the bed and desk chair really the only seating? Looks like there is room for at least a chair.

    Thanks.

  2. We tried it on a Blues Cruise, just to see if it was worth it, figuring if ever there was a cruise we'd get our money's worth, that would be it. Even with getting off the ship only one day, we still didn't save money, we figure we broke even. If you have several ports, remember that you will be off the ship and NOT using it, even less opportunity to get your money's worth. In my opinion, it is NOT worth it. You can't (or are not supposed to) buy drinks for others, the cost is per person. It's a money maker for the cruise line. In fact, one time I was on a cruise without the package, bought a glass of wine, and when the bartender realized I didn't have the package, he poured MORE wine in my glass when he realized I was paying for it! So I guess they also measure out the alcohol to make sure they make money.

  3. Does anyone know if there are electrical outlets in the bathroom, on the Sunshine? Just bought some nightlights that plug in. Was on a Holland America a few months ago and there weren't any outlets in the bathroom...and watched a video on youtube of the Sunshine and didn't see outlets. Not a biggie of course, just curious.

2 weeks from departure on the Sunshine..woo hoo!

  4. Try Compass Bonaire :-) www.compassbonaire.com

We did a snorkel sail through them last year while visiting Bonaire on Princess. Lovely crew and great snorkel spot!

Thanks! Emailed them yesterday and got a response the next day. They have vacancies for the three of us...we are booked with them...woo hoo!!!! Am so excited, now hopefully snow doesn't hold up my flight (flying two days in advance thank goodness!).

  5. This is our first visit to Bonaire. Will be here Jan 24th on the Carnival Sunshine. We are on the waitlist for the Woodwind (since the summer!) and then learned about the golf cart option, they are booked that day as well. Then learned that Seacow (which has very good reviews) can only book through Carnival Cruise line, and THAT is booked. So my question is will their be good options for snorkeling vendors on the pier? We are also considering the water taxi to Klein Beach, but could use some advice and suggestions. Thanks!

  6. OMG! I'm not a thief, just trying to understand how it all works, not trying to rip anybody off man....but thanks for the info. Geez.......

I don't even think it would be worth going to two different bars to try and work the system, I'd rather pay for the two packages....lighten up everybody!!!!!

  7. Okay...my first question is does the beverage package apply to the items in your in-cabin "fridge"? Or will I still have to pay for anything I drink that's provided in cabin?

My next question is, what is everyone's experience with this package? I think the idea is that each person buys their own package, but what happens if you try to buy two drinks at once, or go to another bar for a 2d drink, immediately after you buy one at the first bar. Can you do that in order to save the cost of buying a second package?

I was on the Summit in May this year, and we did not purchase the package. My friend was drinking Mudslides and two different times, someone walking by handed her a second mudslide they got as part of their drink order when using their package. Also, I was in the big theater one night, ordered a glass of wine and when the bartender realized I DIDN't have the beverage package, he poured more wine into my glass!

We're doing a chartered Blues Cruise in a few weeks and probably will buy the package for the first time, just curious as to others experiences. Thanks!

  8. Okay, let's start with the basics. We are doing the Legendary Blues Cruise on the Summit in October, and it is docking in Bridgeport Barbados:):D:rolleyes: is that where all cruise ships dock? I ask because as I do research on what to do, I want to make sure I'm looking within the right area.

    Thanks!

  9. HI limace...we just booked this blues cruise as well, and I'll be celebrating my 60th birthday!!!! I was just on the Summit at the beginning of May to Bermuda and I can tell you the ship looks great. A few worn carpets in the cabin hallways, but otherwise it looks great. There is a new top/backdeck feature with a large screen and very comfortable seating where they showed movies and concerts, it was a great place to hang out. OF course I don't think we'll be watching movies on this cruise. I'm so excited about it and have been wanting to do this cruise for a long time. Food was good, some hit or miss, smaller portions than expected but realized it was all I needed :) French fries are a fave snack during the day and they were hot and crispy. Our Outside cabin was clean and comfortable, and quiet. That's what we have on this cruise as well. STaff were great, very friendly with the exception of a few barkeeps which was surprising. Can't wait to go!

  10. Hey Lady :)

We were on the Summit the same time you were on the Breakaway. We watched two breakaway passengers running down the pier as your ship pulled away...they missed the boat!! That is so scary...did anyone find out what happened to them, how they got home? I always wondered what happens! Summit was great...how was the breakaway waterslide and zip-line? I bet lots of kids?!

  11. Thanks for the great review. We will also be on the Summit cruise to Bermuda leaving May 8th. I sailed the Summit in 2006 on a 14 day Hawaiian Cruise, and loved the ship so much then, we almost didn't want to get off! I was very excited to see the Bermuda Cruise out of Bayonne, living in Delaware makes it an easy drive and I love Celebrity. I'm so glad to hear that staff are still wonderful, and can't wait to see the upgrades fresh out of dry dock.:D

  12. My sister and I did the 10 day cruise on the Sun in March. It is a great ship, incredible staff. Very comfortable and clean cabins. As others have said, if you like "wings" check out the Sports Bar..they are crispy, big and delicious. There wasn't a popcorn machine when we were there. Don't miss the acrobatic couple they were great. Also, check out BONGO at the Champagne Bar. Not only does he make fabulous martini's, he is quite the entertainer :D. He has many tricks up his sleeves and what seems like an unlimited supply of jokes. If I had ANYTHING negative to say it would be that band around the pool is just too darn loud, and they played all day long. So we just found spots away from the band so we could "relax", read and nap.
