  1. Good evening all !!

I have a friend traveling to St lucia for a weeks stay for her wedding/honeymoon . Has anyone taken a helicopter tour ? And if so did you like it ?

She has found one tour and it has good reviews , yet the terrible ones say that the tour started over an hour late or they cancelled without notice .

    TIA

  2. Email the maitre'd of your ship a week or so before your cruise. You may or may not get a reply, but most likely your request will be honored. Be sure to give him/her your sailing date, whether you are early or late seating, and all of your booking numbers. (You can have your PVP link these all together). If you have Anytime dining, you can't request a table ahead of time. The email address is XXmaitred@carnival dot com. Substitute the X's with the two letter ship code from the list below.

  3. Jamman54:...In regards to MDR seating, we had also a booth and ours was #191 on the January 22nd Pride cruise. I also mailed Ken ahead of time. Originally I asked for a 4 seater near a window. Never expected to hear back but he did within a couple of hours and suggested that I allow him to "take care of us" and not sit near a window as I had requested for various reasons. Told him fine and we were more than satisfied with his choice. He certainly did take care of us!!! It was so much better and right in the middle of all the action!!! What a great dining experience every evening with Ken and his team!!! They make it so enjoyable and it was the best we have ever had in 13 or 14 Carnival cruises and 6 Royal Caribbean.

Sorry to hijack this , but how did you mail the maitre d ahead of time ? Our upcoming cruise I am trying to get a table in the center for our party of 9 and our PVP says there is nothing she can do to get in touch with the ship prior .

  4. Hello all !!! We are sailing to Aruba in may 2017 and will be docked from 2-1130 . We have a tour booked with Trikes Aruba from 230-630 . With our early dining time dinner is probably just going to be done on the island . Anyone have any good recommendations? Also what about later in the night after dinner any must do's or see's?

    TIA

  5. Has anyone used the automatic trikes yet ? 2 years ago we toured with them and all they had were manuals . Wondering if the automatics drive like a normal motorcycle (I know silly question ) haha

  6. We have done r/t from San Diego for 15 days and quite frankly would never do that again. Although we love sea days' date=' it was way too many at once. And honestly we didn't see any more of the islands than when we did the NCL cruise thru the islands.

Wish everyone could do the NCL cruise the way we did, but not everyone has the time. We spent a week before and another week after the week long cruise. We have done 12 land trips to Hawaii, and think that is our favorite thing.

Whatever you decide, Hawaii is wonderful, and after the Spirit of Aloha gets under your skin you will devise more ways to return!![/quote']

Is there a way I can direct message you to pick your brain about HI ?? like where to stay and what to see ?

  7. Thank you for all the advice on how to split up time on the islands.

I am copying and pasting the info into a Word document to save and study.

I think first thing I am going to need is a good map of HI :D

Agreed !!!! We want to try something different for our next cruise but it looks like HI will probably not be it via cruise ship . Maybe Alaska !

  8. My family is planning our next cruise for the upcoming year. Normally we sail out of Florida to the Carribeen. Yet this time Hawaii was thrown out as an idea for a cruise . I understand it's normally it's a longer cruise . But what would be better to see the islands , cruise or a land based vacation? We live in Midwest so flight cost is usually taken into account too , yet these types of trips are once in a lifetime as well .

So for all of you who have visited Hawaii both by cruise / land based vacation tell me your thoughts .

  9. On the sunshine right now and yes I have a fridge in my room we have a balcony room on the 6th floor.. the boat is very clean and I don't have a complaint about that. But we suppose to have left at 4 and it's 720pm and we still have not left. The way they had us wait in line just to park and get on.was horrible and I hope we do the go thru that ever again.

Probably another coast guard check . Haha. Had the same issue when we were on the cruise prior to dry dock . We didn't leave until around 630/7

  10. I ended up booking wth Calypso. They were the only ones who came back right away saying their tour will be from 11 to 4 . And not well this is our normal time and we will adjust if need be. Payment is due on day of tour as well which is nice as well . Thank you everyone for your input

  11. Loving your review thus far !!! I have to admit I screen shot both of your tours for St maarten and St kitts . We are still up in the air with our tours for those ports . Me being the control freak I am wants to have everthing planned 3 days ago. The other 4 adults going with me on the trip could care less if we have something planned or not , and would be perfectly fine just " winging it " . Haha

  12. Last time we were in Barbados 2013 we sailed with Silver Moon. Enjoyed our sail very much & had a great crew. :)

That's who I'm thinking of going with . I've been to Barbados and swam with turtles before and it was awesome . There are "cruise virgins" that are sailing with me this year and I just want to make sure I pick a good one .

  13. Just got an email about my excursion that I booked with Calabaza won't work since they have a 9am sailing and our ship doesn't get into port until 10 am . Can anyone else recommend a good catamaran for a small group of people ??

    TIA
