  1. My daughter and two granddaughters (10 and 3) are sharing the same cabin.  My daughter is vax'd.  Two gd's are unvax'd.  We got an automatic exemption letter for the 3 year old.  It's 5 days till we sail and no letter yet for the 10 year old.  My daughter has called Carnival many times and waited on hold for hours at a time.  No one can tell her anything.  Anyone have any ideas?  Before anyone asks, the reason the 10 year old is unvax'd is bc her dad was deadset against it (divorce situation).

welcome to Freeport. Not the nicest port to pull into in the Caribbean.

Quick day today. We pulled in and disembarked the first folks around 7:30. All aboard is 1pm. First time here but DW and I decided early on to make this a ship day especially given the short day.

we grabbed breakfast in the buffet. Sorry this morning will be light on the photos. Was too busy relaxing and completely forgot. Haha.

still had some OBC to burn so we both got massages. DW got the same therapist as yesterday as she really liked her. I had Jennifer today. She was amazing.  Probably the best I’ve ever had. I get a massage every cruise we go on, it’s my thing. Some people like to drink, some gamble, give me some hot stones!  I would highly recommend her if you’re in the market for a massage and will be on in the next 5 months or so.

we grabbed lunch around 12:30. Busiest I’ve seen the buffet all cruise. But still was able to find a table. DW continued with Guys and I grabbed a Buffalo chicken sandwich from the deli. Their deli in the lido is 5 star all day. Great selection and fantastic sandwiches.

Harry Potter trivia is coming up. See you all later!

Next time you go to Freeport take a taxi to the other side of the island!  It is beautiful!

Food Allergy Update:  we were at breakfast and DW let them know she had ordered in advance. They confirmed her allergies and brought out her French toast, hash browns and bacon. But also brought 2 hard boiled eggs. We told them she was allergic to eggs and they showed us a slip of paper with her allergies printed by the computer as gluten and dairy and had egg handwritten in from this morning. They thought that meant she wanted an egg. We asked them to check with the chef that she could eat what was served. They went back and checked and came back and said she cannot eat the packages or the French toast.

Wait. What?!? She ate both yesterday for breakfast and now it’s not ok????

Maybe her allergy to egg has improved over time because she didn’t get sick yesterday. Thankfully her allergies aren’t  severe when they do occur but she usually gets very sick, but thankfully not life threatening. We post about this stuff not for us but for those that are, we want people to know what we experience to protect them.

they apologized, I think the wait staff was besides themselves, they kept coming over and apologizing even though they had done nothing wrong, they only followed what had been provided to them. We spoke with a supervisor who also apologized and said he would ensure this didn’t happen going forward. We felt terrible because their waitstaff were taking this so personally and we kept expressing that it wasn’t their fault and they actually helped us discover the error. They are just wonderful people and very caring.

they brought DW fresh hash browns, bacon and same bread they have been giving her but they made her a blueberry and nut compote that she said was very good but very sweet.

so what’s the learning lesson here, ask to see the printout with your allergy on it so you can ensure they have it documented correctly.

How scary!  Glad that you picked up on this early into your cruise.  I wonder how the breading on the hash browns doesn't have gluten in it. ??

I have enjoyed reading this.  Thank you for taking the time to do it.  We are on the Legend out of Baltimore on 11/21/21.  This is making me more excited.  I try to stay away from sugar/carbs for the most part.  Have you seen any White Claw or Truly seltzers at any of the bars?

Yup, it’s all Truly and it’s available at most bars I’ve seen.

Thank you for checking into this for me.  Glad they have that option.  Half Moon Cay looks heavenly.  They changed our port to Princess Cays.

  5. Thanks everyone.  I was just interested in the Dr. Suess story time, towel animal folding etc. activities.  I know he wouldn't be allowed to join the under 12 kids club (provided there was one).  I would love to hear from any recent sailors who took kids 12 and up and what activities they had for them to do.

  6. I know the camps are closed for under 12.  My son is 12 but still likes some of the kids activities.  Anyone sail recently and know if they have any kids activities at all still available?   We are sailing out of Baltimore on the Legend 11/21/21.
