I don't sail on the Magic until April but have sailed on the Sunshine twice and sailing again in a month. The Sunshine is a great ship with a ton of extras that we absolutely love! We have not experienced any of the issues that people have mentioned (I wonder if those people have even been on the ship) other than a crowded lido deck pool, but what ship in the fleet doesn't have a crowded lido deck pool?

I second the seven day eastern on the Glory.

It appears that the historical descriptions of the San Juan location did not upload. Send me your email and I will email it to you if you want it.

We will be on this same cruise! We have never been to St. Maarten, but have been to San Juan and Grand Turk multiple times.
For San Juan , the map and walking tour that are attached did not originally go together, but if you use the map to guide you around town, you can use the walking tour for additional sites as well as a historical description of each stop along the way. FYI the numbers on the map do not match the numbers on the walking tour. While in Old San Juan I would recommend stopping for a snack or lunch at this little bakery on Calle O’Donnell. I do not know the name of the bakery, but it is across the street from Plaza Colon. It is operated by a little old Puerto Rican woman that makes the best empanadas and croquetas. You can get a bag full of good food for $10-$15 that would be enough food for all four of you. Be sure to go inside the Cathedral of San Juan. It is one of the two places in the world that claim to house the remains of Ponce de Leon, the other is in Havana.
In Grand Turk I would bypass Margaritaville as the cost for food and drinks is crazy. Head to Jacks Shack a few hundred yards north of Margaritaville. The beach is actually much nicer and the food and drinks are very reasonable. Chairs are free and umbrellas are only like $10.
I hope to see you there!

Yes the have Invasion Pale Ale and Florida Cracker still.

How about this. Have your hubby and BIL get cheers before you switch rooms. Then switch with the BIL and you buy cheers after the switch. Maybe it's a gamble but you never know.

Or the Conquest Class? I don't buy it. There must be something cooking between Carnival & Guy's because they haven't put 1 single one on any of their ships in a long time. When they announced it, it was for all ships, so they already knew if there was enough space yes or no. There is no space? ya' u r right!
The Vista will have Guy's and Blue Iguana. I think it is because they don't want to spend the money on upgrades that do not generate additional revenue.

We always do our research ahead of time on the cruise and room(s) we want to book. We only book while on board now. The OBC for booking onboard is worth it to us.
-
All of the above. Sunshine, Breeze, and Vista in 2016 and after.
-
I have sailed on both and would choose the Sunshine every time over the Conquest. Just got off the Sunshine on Sunday and had a great cruise. The ship is nicer, the guest areas are larger, the food options are much better, and there is a Serenity adult area the it beautiful and the Conquest does not have this adults only area. Don't believe the negative reviews on the Sunshine as they simply are not true based on my 10 days spent sailing on her in the past year.

The basic tour took about 45 minutes or so.
Do you remember how long the Tasting Tour lasted in addition to the 45 minute basic tour?

Refrigerator yes. Denis our cabin steward emptied it on day one when I asked. Some sun on the balcony so you can tan for a while. Motion was bad but it was because of the weather and seas. I felt a lot of motion all over the ship.

Just got home! The suite is everything you want it to be and more. There were four of us in the room and we had plenty of space. The couch pulls out into a queen sized bed and there is another bed that folds into the wall. You can arrange the pieces of the couch to get more floor space if you want to. We moved the love seat section and corner section to the wall that the TV was on and moved the table against the window next to the sofa sleeper portion. The balcony had a table with four chairs, two lounges, and two additional cushioned chairs with a small table between them. The two bathrooms and the walk in closet were perfect for the four of us. The seas in the southern Caribbean were high and the winds reached up to 60 mph a couple nights so we did not get as much time out there as I would have wished for. I will definitely consider this room again!

Im not one to complain but this guy looked like Rod Stewart and had a personality of a frog.
I haven't been on one cruise (until now) where they didnt interact with the crowd. He didnt want suggestions, he didn't want to talk, I dont think he wanted anyone to show up.
My last cruise on the Sunshine the guy was amazing and got everyone involved, there was normally standing space only. This guy was such a disappointment....
Being he was so Bad I ended up in the comedian lounge and they were FANTASTIC! Once I went to the one show, I never missed another.
The ship shows her age, but your on vacation so ENJOY yourself. The food was okay, Im not picky there just wasn't a lot of variety.
We were with Roddy just a couple weeks ago and had a very different experience. He interacted with the crowd great and took nothing but requests. Maybe we wore him out? His accent was fun to joke about though. Count Dracula meets PBE!!!!!

I got notified this morning that my cruise next May will be switching from the Breeze to Splendor due to the Breeze relocating to Galveston early. The Magic also does not show up on May 2016 bookings either. So we will be hearing about that today and then a third ship according to JH.

I am willing to bet that Carnival has delayed the announcement because they would like to sail from Tampa to Havana. There has been a lot of kicky in in DC over airlines and cruise ships going there so Carnival is having to hold back and maybe even change plans.

We have cruised with this twice now and have never had a problem...

Also what we use. Have taken it several times and no problems other than whiny people on a Disney Cruise FB page that chastised us for taking it.

I was speaking with my wife last night about this and decided, that if they added a level between Gold and Platinum at say 50 days, they would most likely then increase the number of days it takes to get to Platinum to 90 or 100. It could have its benefits but also its drawbacks.

Is Guys burger really that much better than regular hamburger??? Sailing on Magic in few weeks. I always that a burger is a burger.
It is that much better in my opinion. The regular burgers are standard frozen burgers. Guy burgers have a 80/20 fat to beef content and taste very fresh. The buns and topping bar is better too.

I would bet that the smaller Fantasy class ships will not ever get the 2.0 upgrades. Could be that Carnival will make some kind of " Carnival Lite" for the shorter cruises on the smaller ships.
I think they will get some of the income producing ones like Red Frog Rum Bar and Blue Iguana on the Ecstasy.

Thank you!

Do the movies in the theater on the ship cost extra?
Celebrating Easter on a cruise
in Carnival Cruise Lines

You disembark on Easter so I am sure nothing will be planned for your cruise that day, but there may be for the cruise that embarks. If you are driving to port I would suggest you try to find a community Easter Egg hunt nearby or find a park nearby where you can hide your own.
