  1. You may be disappointed in the actual size of some of the other ships Verses Voyager.

There will be no promenade as you know it on voyager, and no big parades, smaller ships can feel a lot more crowded in some places onboard.

Its hard to compare a Voyager cruise to other Australian cruises in my opinion because of the shear size of voyager and most other ships will give a different cruise experience especially to those who had their first ever cruising experience on Voyager:)

Yes that's the problems we were first time cruisers thinking we started at the top of the line size wise.....might look at princess diamond though as see her itinerary.

  2. I will let you know dionex but I think the travel agent mentioned to me today voyager will be able to go to the smaller ports as they are adding something to the ship after the refurb to allow this?? I don't really understand it but maybe someone on this thread can elaborate?

Interesting about princess and I think I will look at her scheduling and if there is one in the school holidays I might book it...especially if its the diamond.

I would also put some thought into the Explorer of the seas as it is same class as voyager and would be nice maybe to try another ship in the fleet.

    thanks for all your advice!

  3. HI,

We have recently come back from a cruise on Voyager of the seas and absolutely Loved It!

We loved that it was a cruise with ages between 8 months & 85 and catered for everyone in between.

The only fault I could find was the pool deck was too slippery...no big deal we were just more careful.

Would love to go on another cruise and a lot of people (not our age though) raved about Princess lines. The Diamond in particular.

Can you all please tell me..does the princess cater for all age groups?

We are not party animals but if we wanted to stay up a little later is there any late entertainment?

Is the room service complimentary like Royal?

Do they have snacks complimentary like royal (the kids loved the promenade cafe)

How is the kids club, do they have a structured program?

Just do not want to book a cruise where children may not be as welcomed by other guests and someone advised me maybe to book Princess in school holidays to overcome this?

    Any thoughts or advice please?

  4. Just back from the 27/2 sailing. Noro was on the last cruise so they were very careful with ours. I never saw or heard any signs if it. New carpet is going through the ship. No nasty smells on deck 7 aft. Overall ship is in great shape but looks a bit 1990's.

The ships staff are amazing but I believe they work to hard.

Thanks Esilef. I know, like me, in your previous posts in your roll call you were worried about sickness on board and various other complaints. Was everything ok? Any tips you can give us? I am on the ship 27th March with two kids in tow.

Thanks for any information in advance.

  5. Guys we have also purchased the premium package for 14 night sail. Here is something interesting you may want to know ( taken straight from website)

Q: What wines are included in the all-inclusive beverage packages?

A: All wines by the glass up to a US$8 value* are included in the select package. All wines by the glass up to a US$12 value* are included in the Premium and Ultimate packages. Guests also receive 20% off bottles of wine with the Select, Premium and Ultimate package.

*$US$9 value for select and US$14 value for Premium/Ultimate in Europe, Sth America and Australian markets.

So we get $14us value for wines not $12us I wonder if that is the value for cocktails as well? I will email them now

  6. So your the one whom got 1688 for the cruise on the 27/2!!!! Meant to be the best cabin I've been watching to see if it became available for the last 10 months. We got 7688 which has the bigger balcony but not the JS sized room nor the unobstructed views.

    Hope you love 1688

Hey esilef when you feel sad about not getting the 1688 cabin on the 27th /2 think about us on the 27/3 we are 1675 inside cabin with 2adukts and two children. Thank god I booked mum and dad in 1688 so we can escape to their balcony !!!!

  7. Hi Cruises thanks for the heads up on the somewhat nasties on board, We are on deck 10 aft 1688, nice cabin, and are taking on-board wipes and Glen 20, spray all surfaces and let dry over a beer:)

So Chilli if you smell anything odd, knock on our door and well go all Sherlock Homes on it.

Is the better option not to eat at the Buff....too many snouts in the trough

Looking forward to cruising on the Voyager, Bugs, spitting Chinese, big swells aside, the coral sea can kick up a swell.

But that's what Long Island Ice Tea's are for:rolleyes:

    Slight swells, no noro, and L I I T all round..........Scott:)

Hey scott that's my mum and dad's cabin for the 27th march departure! Had to book 18 months out to get it :-) glad you will be cleaning it thoroughly for them lol!

  8. No need to go to the chemist -- in fact, I think that might turn out to be a FAIL.

Just go to the kitchen cleaning area of Woolworths or Coles and look for kitchen counter wipes -- they all have Benzalkonium Chloride in them, whereas the personal wipes do not

    Barry

Practicality wise and for health reasons I would not suggest wiping your hands with kitchen wipes for a long period. The foaming, non alcohol hand sanitizer should have the ingredient. Try the company hands first.

Off topic who is the current cruise director on voyager now Luke arrowsmith is on holidays?

  9. Hi all just off the Tassie sailing and just to let you all know Norovirus was alive and well:mad: they were serving with tongs for the last few days and doing a deep clean when we got back to sydney

    Jacquie

Besides the norovirus Jacquie how was the cruise overall? Hope you still had a good time. I have read a little information that the normal alcohol based gels DO NOT kill norovirus?? I wonder if the ships crew know that those gels do not help the spread of the virus. I am ordering some offline which apparently kills norovirus will let you know if we came out unscathed on our trip in March:-)
