  1. Hi Steph we will be going on Allure next May with my daughter and her 18 mos old. Rccl says they will provide a pack and play, that being said where in the room does it fit? My DD and SIL are going to be in a Central Park balcony room, and looking at the picture I can't figure out where they would put the pnp? And help would be great. Thanks in advance

    Merc,

I traveled with my daughter in Pack'n'Play age twice (once at 9 months, and again around 14 months). The Pack'n'Play was always placed and arranged (sheets that made it comfy and homie, extra sheets for use as needed, etc.) by the stateroom attendant at the same time that he arranged ours before the end of the day. It was always placed right around where your "center table" is, in front of your couch. I can't remember exactly what we did with that little table, but we might have put it away in the closet, or something like that.

Just know that the P'n'P will fit, it may be tight, but it will be okay.

And like others have said, the most important thing about cruising with such a young baby is knowing that you WILL have a great time. I think the best way to ensure that you have a good time is having realistic expectations, and making sure that you take everything at the right pace.

  2. Thanks! How long was your time in Nassau? When was all aboard? Any affect of the propulsion issues?

If I remember correctly, all aboard was at 1200, with a departure time of 1230. If I am wrong, I'm pretty close.

    The ports went something like:

Nassau, Bahamas - Arrived early (I assume at about 6am, wasn't awake) and departed at about 1230.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas - Arrived at about 1100 and departed at about 7pm.

Phillipsburg, St. Maarten - Arrived early (I assume at about 6am, wasn't awake), and departed at about 6pm.

As far as propulsion problems is concerned, I guess that the "adjusted schedule" that RCI announced is what we did. Nassau and St. Thomas were "abnormal" and St. Maarten felt like a "normal" port call.

I apologize if my times are skewed, but I believe they are pretty close.

  3. I just got off the Allure this morning.

Connection speeds weren't much of an issue, I would say what everyone already expressed. Faster than the low-end "high-speed internet" but slower than your average 2014 cable modem at home. However, I did have issues with loading some message boards from my online class. I was never able to load them all week, and I'm sure it has something to do with the technology behind the Allure's internet. Other than that, no issues at all, other than the price, LOL.
