Hi, I'm one of the admins for the Facebook group Galveston Carnival Weddings. If you are interested in joining, we have the people who run the Wedding Experience (they handle the Carnival weddings) as members. So you can get plenty of questions answered.

  2. How points are calculated. This doesn't mean you have to spend $2.50, but you have to run it through the machine. You're winnings count as money going through the machine. My son used to work for a casino and he would look at how much I spent. I would use $300 of my own money, but it showed as though I spent $1,500.

    Slots

Every $2.50 ran through machine = 1 point

    Video Poker

Every $5 ran through machine = 1 point

    Texas Holdem Tables

    No points are earned

Table points are calculated as follows

Amount of bet x hours played

For example, to earn the 200 required points for the DOU card it would take:

    $15 per hand x 16 hours

    $25 per hand x 8 hours

    $50 per hand x 4 hours

    $100 per hand x 2 hours

  3. bouncebacks start at 5000 1500 for a drink card, you're not getting a cruise for 2500 and i believe what i was told from many different casino hosts, i have had 8 bounce back cruises, from interior to balcony.

That information came directly from the casino club. They also say it's based on a curve, so my guess is that if you have 2,500 points and are on the low end of the curve you get nothing.

And it's 1,500 for a 7 day cruise. It is only 1,000 for a 4-5 for the DOU offer.

  4. Yes. We didn't board till 11:30. So I'm guessing this is common. I was mainly worried about my 5a.m makeup and hair. Which I will now be changing to a tad bit later. Thanks for the info

Who do you have doing your hair and makeup? I'm still trying to find someone.

  5. We created "passports" that had all of the wedding information, dates, locations, where to park, etc.

And included links to our web page for more information.

We also created our own FB group and invited everyone who has FB to be members. Then posted updates and reminders regularly.

  6. Hi,

You don't have to pay for kids under a certain age (maybe 7?) but they are included in your head count.

You're correct. I didn't read all of the info, I only looked at the $150 fee which includes everyone regardless. Here is the paragraphs from my documents.

"An additional $150.00 service fee will apply for every 50 guests attending the wedding, whether they are children or adults, including the bride & groom. Payment for all additional guests must be made 30 business days prior to sailing. An additional $25.00 processing fee will apply for, all changes made to the Final Guest List with 30 business days prior to the sail date. No changes or additions can be made; within 10 business days prior to the sail date.

 Time to Celebrate & Time to Celebrate…BIG! Package will accommodate up to 20 people

 Let Us Serve You Luncheon will accommodate up to 8 people (including the Bride & Groom)

Additional people may attend per person fees are listed below. Children 7 and under will not be charged but will be included in the guest list (sales tax applies).

    Time to Celebrate. $22.00

    Time to Celebrate…BIG! $30.00

    Let Us Serve You. $34.50

  7. Hello, hopefully you can answer a question for me. I am getting married on Oct 17, 2015 on Carnival Freedom, I know this is a different ship than yours, but I was wondering if you could tell me the check in process for you? I was able to view the wedding process for another bride on a tour that the ship gave me and I noticed that the wedding party were coming in at different times, even after 10:30am. Even one of the brides walked in at 10:30am. I was told to have myself and my whole wedding party to arrive at the ship no later than 9:30am. Was this the same for you? Did you have people arrive later than that?

Congrats. Our wedding is one week after yours on the Freedom. We did the tour as well, and I don't think they boarded until around 11.

We told everyone to be there at 9:30 because inevitably someone is going to show up late. And if we told them 10:30 they might show up after we board.

  8. Could I also have the alternate menus please. My daughter is getting married on Carnival Inspiration next February and we have a lot of dietary concerns. Thank you for posting. email is mcdonaldmk2@gmail.com

Not sure if I can post a link or not. But I have uploaded the menus here:

  9. Thinking of carnival wedding 2017, so let me say thank you for 30 pages of amazing tips and struggles. I have a few questions Does the cruise tour cost extra? When they count the people over the 20 included do kids count? I'm sure they probably do but they don't drink so I was just wondering? Does anybody have a price list for all the extra charges like the D.J, flower up charges ect. My email is Dilmks3@gmail.com. AGAIN THANK YOU for all the info.

The tour is free (up to 2) and $50 for any after that. One should be enough though.

You have to pay for everyone over 20, and you have to include the bride and groom in your count.

I'll email you all the info we have later this evening. The DJ is $75 extra, and if you want to guarantee you have your reception in the night club, you need to choose this option. And be the first one to do it. The first wedding that books the DJ gets the night club.

  10. What cruise line? For my cruise next week and my back to back in November, for the first time ever, I planned to severely limit gambling on the first leg as Carnival seems to only consider your most recent sailing for promos. I don't gamble for the perks, but I won't gamble without them. :D

The $10 minimum doesn't affect me much since I tend to bet a stack of 22 chips, but the $2 chips do. They had $2 chips with the same $5 minimum on the Breeze, and it just made me bet a lot less. Instead of just playing with little plastic chips, psychologically they became $2 bills. I played a stack of 5 most of the time.

    It was Carnival

  11. It's op fault they spent so much. Don't feel bad at all for them. My only complaint with carnival is that of the 4 cruises I've played I'm only now getting free drinks. They should give you free drinks when you play in the casino

I earned free drinks on my last cruise, but I never noticed I got to the points I needed. I was lucky enough that the girl getting my drinks noticed and pointed it out. It was on my second to last day too, but I was doing a back to back and found out that if you are, the free drinks transfer to the next cruise.

  12. We aren't paying for the buffet. When we did the ship tour (Carnival) the person giving the tour said that our guests were welcome to enjoy the buffet.

After our tour, he even told us to enjoy the buffet and do whatever we wanted until the ship was ready to depart around 4. We went through the buffet with no questions asked and we even had the non-sailing guest badges on.

Our wedding coordinator even said to just have them take off their guest badges and go through the buffet. That is the only thing that says they aren't a sailing guest anyway.

  13. We are getting married in October and ours is only an hour (plus the half hour for the ceremony).

At first we thought it was short, but then we looked at it as a reverse reception. Most of the time you have your reception, do the cake, dances, drink, etc. Which takes up about an hour. And then everyone just sort of mingles until it's over.

With everyone having to arrive so early, they get to go to the buffet and mingle for a couple hours before the wedding, then do all of the reception stuff and it's over.
