  1. We live according to Google Maps 1.25 hours north of the Port of Miami -Terminal A (RCCL Terminal our ship is leaving from). We are wondering if it is best for us (2 adults + 2 kids) to drive to the Terminal & park there or ervicis the port directions & traffic too crazy and we should take a car service?  By the way we found out our sailing the week of March 16th is totally sold out!  Car service with tip will cost an extra $100 round trip for the 4 of us.

Looks like the new Royal App has been updated with a “beta” chat function in the top right and an “x-ray” function (whatever that is) beside the dining icon. Don’t think either work until onboard but hoping the chat feature is functional in a few weeks for our cruise on Harmony.

My iPhone app doesn't have that Beta widget, is this a screenshot from an iPhone or Android phone?

  3. Thank you for the great & honest reviews!!!    I stumbled across this review while searching for reviews involving toddlers & yes you held my attention to the end.  Last sailing our LO was barely a year old & not walking.  Now she will be a little over 3 & am happy to say potty trained, we are hoping she gets over being be scared of being left with strangers so she can go to the kids club some.  Do they just lend toys to anyone that asks??

We know there is plenty of activities her & her 12 yr old brother will be able to do on Symphony, but am looking for excursions we can do as a family, other than going to the beach!  We live in S FL & could go to the beach anytime.

When & what ship is your next sailing on?

  4. I am onboard the Oasis right now. I’m thinking of booking an aqua theater suite right now for Christmas cruise 2019. Has anyone booked onboard before? Would you or would you not?

I did a future booking while onboard Allure of the Seas, it was great as we only had to pay $25 per person deposit and received $200 OBC. Since the future cruise was 2 years out, it was easier to part with $100 for the reservation for the 4 of us as opposed to $1,000!!! A few months later I noticed a price drop/deal and after 1 call to our travel agent, our balance was adjusted to the lower amount.

  5. Last time we sailed was in June 2012 on RCL and we had no issues with being Gluten Free. The first night in the MDR one of the Chefs came to our table and asked what menu items we think we might order and he told us if it was GF, if not GF if he could easily make it custom for us, or not available in GF. Then each night in the MDR the waiter would take our order for the following night including dessert, he was very knowledgeable about GF. He even brought GF bread rolls in a separate basket to the table, we were seated w/ family that is not GF. It was great even if an app, main course, or dessert was not on the menu for the following night, he would have it prepared. We did eat at the Windjammer and as long as we were not in a rush whatever we wanted, even when our son wanted GF pizza, they would make it separately, to make sure cross contamination was avoided, as you never know when a person will use a serving spoon from a non-gf dish on a gf dish. One afternoon we ate at the hot dog stand on the ship (forgot the name) and our son had a GF hotdog on an Udi hotdog bun. We tried to eat each breakfast in the MDR so we could order eggs to order & have GF toast served more quickly than in Windjammer. We have an upcoming cruise on the Allure of the Seas (which the only thing I'm worried about is eating too much good GF food) and it looks like from other posts we will have even more places to eat, such as Johnny Rockets for breakfast, Donut place, etc.

  6. We just got back from the Nov 9 sailing. Overall had a good time but would not sail on this ship again. To big for our liking. Like the Adventure of the Seas better. Did not ever seem crowded. Food was not bad but not as good as it used to be. They are charging to much for food you didn't have to pay for before. Had a pay steak at MDR. Not good. Ate breakfast at Johnny Rockets and Wipeout cafe every morning. Like the omelettes at Wipeout. The Italian pay restaurant was awful. Took forever. We did not get charged and got an apology note with champagne and strawberries in our cabin next day. Good Customer service. Staff were all friendly! Room was nice (balcony 10306) Embarkation and debarkation was a breeze! To many kid oriented things on this ship for our liking.Comedians were my favorite. Chicago ok but LONG. Oceania was cancelled the day we were scheduled to see it. Headliner show was so so according to others. Karaoke always busy. Quest was funny as usual. Nothing wrong with the ship just not for us. Rain first 3 days was a bummer but rest of week sunny. Nassau boring, St Thomas and St Maarten love, love, love! Stayed at Universal Palms Hotel pre and post cruise $59. Good for the price. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Does have some train noise. Overall we will probably not cruise in Nov or Dec in the future. Weather to unpredictable. Glad to answer any questions If am able.

November and December are especially unpredictable months for South Florida. Two days ago it was raining & 50 degrees in the AM up to 63 in the afternoon, yesterday it was sunny most of the day & high of 85 degrees, and this morning there are dark clouds & 75 degrees. But that is how it is during the winter months; wait 30 minutes and the weather will change!

What did you think of that Oceanview Balcony room & the location of it? Two of the people in our group are book for that exact room next year.
