  1. The OP has a winking emoji. Have a sense of humour. I also have kids, and although they are adults, I still call them kids and yes, my college athlete can eat ice cream whenever he wants.

Thanks. My girls are 21, 16, and 13. We cruised this past summer and one of their favorite things was a sisters only trip to the sushi bar and ice cream at midnight :)

  2. Our family cruised on the Breeze this summer and had a great time. We are planning a short cruise for next May and the Liberty is the ship that meets our schedule.

My daughter is graduating from high school and will probably want to spend time in the spa now that she's old enough...is the spa similar on both ships? Is the adults only area similar? Are there any differences that I should worry about?

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for the quick responses :)

I wonder if they'll put your second elegant night on Day 5 (Grand Cayman). You're departing Grand Cayman at 4pm.

That would be great. Do they often switch around like that?

You might get back early enough to get to DR.

It's an all day trip to Tulum so doubtful, but I am staying behind with one of my dd's so, at least, I'll still get to dress up and eat ;)

  4. We are cruising on the Breeze next month. If I understand correctly, the elegant nights should be on the 2nd day (Monday) and the 2nd to last day (Friday). Friday we will be in Cozumel and on an excursion that is scheduled to return at 6, which is our dining time.

Does that mean we will not be able to eat in the dining room on that day?

    Thanks

  5. When we went a couple of years ago we booked with a third party that specializes in day resorts. It was less than a ship tour, they picked us up and dropped us off at the pier. Very easy.

Thanks, but I'm talking about Rose Hall Great House. The private drivers I've looked at require a 4 person minimum. It looks like he may do the Carnival excursion and just suck it up through the shopping stop ;)

  6. We are cruising to Montego Bay next month. I will be taking my daughters zip lining but my husband would like to visit Rose Hall instead. The cruise excursion includes a shopping trip that he is not interested in so I was wondering how easy it would be for him to get to Rose Hall from the ship? Any tips/pointers/recommendations?

    Thanks

  7. It takes too long to get to Chichen Itza on a cruise.

That 7 hour Tulum= most of your time is spent on the transportation.

Ferry over to Playa then the time time on the bus. (round trip_ then the ferry

you spend maybe 2 hours at the ruins.

    Thanks.

Last year we went on our first cruise and went to Uxmal. I was concerned about the ratio of travel to explore time but we really enjoyed it.

  8. We are sailing to Cozumel next summer on the Breeze. When we booked my husband was disappointed there were no excursions to Mayan Ruins available (we are only in port for 8 hours)

Today I logged in and noticed they have added an excursion to Tulum (7 hours). Now I'm wondering if it's possible they will add one to Chichen Itza (it looks like this is an 8 hour excursion, though).

  9. We will be cruising to Montego Bay next summer with my parents and children (13-21) My 13yo is not interested in anything remotely adventurous while some of us would love to zipline/ATV, etc.

I thought Good Hope would be fun because we could all go together and choose different activities to do. Is there transportation to/from the port or would we need to hire a driver?

There is an excursion that takes you there an allows time for exploring on your own, does anyone have experience with this and could we split up and do the activities once there?

    Thanks!

  10. How was the embarkation process? Did you have FTTF??

Was the waterslides and ropes course open on the sea days?

I noticed someone else ask about drink service - we are getting the Cheers package, curious about speed of service as well in the dining room - we are ATD.

    Thanks!!

We also were on the Magic this week. We had FTTF. Embarkation was delayed so we sat at the terminal for 2 hours :/ but we were glad not to have to wait to board once they began boarding.

We had cheers and had excellent service almost everywhere. We had 3-4 drinks with dinner and often could have had more as we were always asked if we wanted another when our drinks were empty. We also had ATD.

Our MDR experience was great. We loved our head server (she took our initial drink order every night)

We rarely spent any time on the upper decks so I don't know the answer to the slide/ropes question. We found the 5th deck hot tubs were available while tides/serenity were packed. I spent my downtime in the spa (although the rough seas caused issues with the Thalassotherapy pool.

The MDR is open for breakfast on both sea and port days so we ate there daily. We also ate at the pasta bar at cucina for lunch twice.
