  1. I’ve always wondered at what point a cruise line would deny boarding due to ‘symptoms’.   If I am congested, coughing, and mild fever (aka, the common cold) would I be denied boarding?   My question is for when there is NOT a pandemic happening VS the current situation with coronavirus.   When I look at CV symptoms the look like someone who might have a cold. 🤷‍♂️

The cutoff point appears to be a temperature above 37.5°C and you will be refused boarding.

  2. We are used to much higher temperatures here in Australia but having travelled to the UK and Europe many times, I have found those lower temperatures very comfortable due to the higher humidity over there. You cannot just use the temperature alone, but must take in to account those other factors. That is why layering is so important. Our Baltic Heritage cruise on Princess in September 2014 was mostly low 20s, and lower, but I would not have wanted it any warmer, particularly with all the walking we did.

  3. I think the shuttle buses were $25pp.

Baldwin St is not in the main city, it is in North East Valley and would take an hour to walk to from the centre of the city (The Octagon).

Google maps are very useful for checking the proximity of various places, and it will calculate the approximate walking or driving time between them.

I note that you had family meet you in Port Chalmers. What is a good place to arrange family to meet with us please as we have never been to this port. Thank you.

  4. But then there's the buy one, get one for $1... in my opinion, this is much better.

When does this happen please and does it apply to cocktails, wines etc? We leave on the Golden in 2 weeks and have not purchased a drink package, just the coffee cards and shall take our own wine and pay the $15 corkage on each bottle. What a great site this is with all you seasoned cruisers giving your much appreciated advice. Many thanks.

  5. From a hygiene perspective, flat, dry surfaces are easier to clean and is a good reason to go for more spartan furnishings. If I can, I choose parquetry flooring over carpet any time I book hotel accommodation while travelling overseas. (I check online photos posted by the Hotels and other travellers) The new flooring may be noisier but definitely more hygienic.

  6. Which are the premium teas included with the coffee card and where do you purchase them please? Also the brewed coffee, is it only at the International Cafe or can these be purchased in other areas? Is after dinner coffee included or an extra in the Dining rooms? Thanks in advance.
