  1. we were on her in late June no problems whatsoever, cruises can be cancelled if immediate repair is needed happened to us once

I am puzzled to your comment ref slowing down in harbour, that is quite normal plus as you say there are only rumours

was the movement you mention rolling or pitching?

The ship is rolling and pitching - feels like the stabilizer are inactive or can’t react fast enough because of the problems

The ship has no problems to cruise at high and constant speed.

In the harbor the ship needs an active and constant management between power production and the power usage of the pods and the bow thrusters.

Here in Killybegs we used a tug to turn the ship and push us into mooring position.

  2. The QE has a problem with the Engine Management System.

In Reykjavik they got some external Experts on Board, but they still don’t really know where the Problem is and how to fix it.

In the Harbor we can maneuver without help, but just really slow.

Looks like they get a power overload if they switch too fast between different power levels. So they have to do everything slow and maybe more manuell than normally.

After departure in Olden we got a power outage in the Kitchens during dinner.

Took about 30 minutes until they where able to continue cooking.

Depending on where you are on the ship, there are very heavy vibrations and the ship is moving in the calm waves much more than normal - both more than the last time and more than on the other queens.

The ship is looking forward and really needs the small refit in France in November.

  3. First of all it is Russian mismanagement to build the Cruise Center like they did.

It has a 'U' form, with space for 6 Cruise ships. Two on the left, the right and in the middle. The ship left and right were facing west towards the sea ( like the MSC Musica ). They had the wind coming from the front, and could just steam away.

The two ships in the middle got the wind and the waves from the side. The sounds of the waves hitting the QE reminded me on a stormy TA day onboard the QM2.

While the QE might have been able to use a few minutes with less wind to turn away and get out, we couldn't because the ship got nailed to the pier by the Russian tanker who was refueling the ships.

They only got old small tugs in the harbor, so they needed nearly 9 hours till they managed to get the tanker away from the side of the QE - around 11pm. Too late for the time window we got to leave the harbor.

So we had to wait till 7am next day to leave.

We got an extra sea day on the ship and free calls and Internet to rearrange our flights and so. [emoji106]🏻
