  1. I actually love cruising out of Baltimore,  mainly because it is only an hour drive for me,  but i love cruising on the Pride.  My most recent cruise on the Pride was in December 2017.  Was it cold?  Sure!  I can't really say that we experienced much choppy water.  My dad mentioned something about the rocking woke him up,  but i was sound asleep....lol  The one thing that i loved was not necessarily the Sail Away party,  but about an hour or so after leaving Baltimore,  we sail underneath the Key Bridge and then the Bay Bridge which make for a pretty cool optical illusion if you're watching from the back of the ship.  I can't tell you how many times i've said that there's no way we will make it under the span!  lol  That was from the first 2 times on the Pride,  but since it will be darker in November,  it might make it a little more difficult to see.

Like others have said here,  you could have nice weather or it could be storming,  but no matter what life is always much better on a cruise while others are at work.  LOL

  2. Most of my pictures are taken at 3 to 4 MB, but I use the MICROSOFT POWERTOY IMAGE RESIZER, a free download that works on my Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers and get them to about 150 KB. It's an easy to use tool that works on the picture by a right click-rather than a separate program.

Thank you for the tip......i am so technology challenged....the simpler, the better. lol I will check that out. My home computer is Windows 7.

  3. I was on the same cruise as you! I took my father with me. We were in 6333 Aft. I had such a great time......i also went to the lighting of the Menorah too, and i'm not Jewish either. On the first sea day, i thought Saffie was annoying....ONLY because (and i know it wasn't her fault) i was having breakfast with dad on Lido and during the morning show on the big screen, her microphone was soooo overmodulating, it was hard to hear and understand. After that, she was fabulous. Very energetic and just a nice person! I was going to post some pics too, but mine are too big....once i figure out how to resize them, i will post! :-)

  4. Ken is the head Maitre D for Carnival---he trains all the new Maitre Ds and sets up the ships. We've been lucky enough to be on 4 of his cruises (I gave him this "light up" bow tie on the last one). Twice he performed a night of Sinatra music when performers did not show, his concerts were packed! Hoping he'll sail with us on the new Horizon for the transatlantic.

I totally agree! Ken is fabulous! I was on the Pride from 12/10 - 12/17. He sang every night....everything Sinatra! As for him being on the Horizon, I asked him how long he would be on the Pride, and he said that he would be going to Italy and come back on the Horizon, and then back on the Pride. I'm not sure if this was set in stone, but i heard it straight from him. :)

  5. I have sailed out of Baltimore twice, and my third time will be next month. I LOVE the pride. The layout is easy to navigate. For me, as you are saying about the drive, i live in Delaware, so the port is just over an hour away from me, but it sure beats paying additional airfare. Baltimore has also been the easiest embarkation port. The 2 times i've cruised out of Baltimore, it was maybe 30-40 minutes from the time i was dropped off and on the ship. The longest past was going through security. That's just my experience. As for excursions, it really depends on what you're looking to do, as someone in this thread mentioned before. I personally enjoy the nice relaxing ones......the one i did last year was to Balmora (sp?) Island in Nassau......it's a private area, basically a beach day and there are some shops and places to grab a bite to eat for lunch. Whatever you decide, you are going to have a great time! I can't wait to be on the Pride for the 3rd time!! It can't come fast enough! Have an awesome cruise!!!

  6. What a really nice review! I enjoyed reading it and taken on your journey with you through pics! :-) I love the Pride! Definitely my favorite ship! I will be sailing on her again in December, it will be my 3rd cruise on the Pride! Since Baltimore is a local port for me too, it's very accessible and convenient! Happy cruising everyone, and thanks so much for your review Beagle!

  7. I second what Don said. I have sailed on the Pride twice with #3 coming this December! Very smooth embarkation in Baltimore! Last year i was in line for maybe about 15 - 20 minutes before getting to check-in.

Can't help you with the laundry question as i have never done laundry on the ship.

  8. I really love the Pride! I sailed on her twice now with my most recent cruise in May 2016. The simplicity of the Spirit class ships is what attracts me to cruise them. Sailing out of Baltimore is extremely convenient and one of the most non-hassle ports that I've been to. The Pride is just a beautiful ship!!

  9. I don't really think that there is anything that I can say that others on this thread have said. I am fresh off of the Pride as of this past Sunday. Had a great cruise and she is the best ship that I have sailed. I loved the new upgrades! I'm going to echo others and say, GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed!

  10. Thanks for the review! I'm with you on a lot of things that you mentioned......if there is something that I'm not happy with, it isn't going to ruin my cruise! I sail on the Pride in a few weeks, May 29th......20 days to be exact, but who the heck is counting! :p This will be my 2nd sailing on her, but first since the 2.0 upgrades, and both from Baltimore!! CAN......NOT......WAIT!!!

  11. Hello friends! I like this topic, which made me think to ask this question. I am leaving for my cruise on the 29th and have everything printed out. My question is that should I just put the luggage tags on the bags being checked/scanned? Or should I also put one on my carry-on bag too? It's been 5 years since my last cruise and the person I am bringing, this is her first cruise, so I just want to make sure I am prepared. :)

  12. After a 5 year absence, I am returning to the Pride! I am so much looking forward to this trip! I am bringing a first time cruiser with me, and she was asking me about the food, so I thought I would throw this out to you. Has anyone recently sailed on the Pride that may have taken pics of the dinner menus from the MDR? If so, can you post them for me so I can show them to my friend! Thanks a lot in advance! :-)
