Rustys on the port is a great spot if you're looking for oysters, wings and other items.

I was on the Freedom before the updates in 2013 and on the Dream this past Feb, overall the Dream is my favorite Carnival ship yet. Was in love with the serenity deck and did not notice extra passengers. The decor was a bit more my style (toned down) and great water slides.
I would pick Dream over Freedom, even w upgrades, but would not hesitate to go on Freedom again if price/schedule were in play. Freedom has a great adults only pool, w retractable roof, that Dream does not have and the track area was better (not on main walkway). Ultimately two very good ships and both will provide for a great cruise.

I agree 100% with K2. Don't miss the shows on "Dream", as they are all outstanding!
Also, a must see, in my opinion, is the "BlackJack Band", playing in the Ocean Plaza. GREAT entertainers, and superior entertainment.
"Dream" is a truly wonderful cruise, with superior entertainment, food, service, and ports. ENJOY!
"SKY"
I had read all about how great the BlackJack band was and unfortunately. They went on vacation right before my feb cruise. Guess I will have to do the Dream again to experience them :-)

Right inside from where they set up the BBQ on deck 5 is a salad bar that beats any other on ship. They build it for you to your specifications and the variety of options are fantastic.
Running track is tough because it's not out of way of normal traffic like other ships, but good first thing in morning.
Dancing in the Streets is amazing and the fun force in atrium (last night I think) is not to be missed.

I searched everywhere on ship for sushi when on the Dream over Presidents Week with no luck. Thought they might have it on the dinner buffet on lido like on Freedom, especially when I saw the soy sauce, but they did not. Only had it as app option one night in MDR.

Little late, but thank you for a fantastic review. Like many others, I read it before my trip on the Dream. Your day in LFK was my favorite but I knew I had no chance of getting my group to do a non Carnival excursion so I was ecstatic when Carnival added the LFK option about two weeks before we sailed. I think it was only about five hours start to finish and they dictated arrival/departure but it was still great. Favorite part was jumping from the platform. ;-)

I did not notice anything but the regular coffee cups at the self serves when I was on the Dream in Feb. But our group all packed tumblers w lids or travel coffee mugs which worked great.

Downy wrinkle release is a great option and another way around the no clothes iron rule is to pack a flat iron for hair, it is allowed and works on clothes in a pinch.

Me too! We sail the Dream at the end of March! Great review so far! Can you tell me what night was your second formal night?

Hi. The second formal night for this sailing was on Thursday, day we were at Costa Maya. Had to be back on the ship by I believe 2 so it worked out great.

My apologies, posted based on ship to shore and misread the op.

Just off the Dream and they did offer calls from ship to shore. Calls made from the room phone were under $2/min I think $1.95.

Thanks for the great review.
as your group was into the gym, do you know if running was allowed on lanai (deck 5)? I've read conflicting reports.

Sunshine Sofa? Fridges? Handicap Father Question. HELP!!!
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Just off the Sunshine last week in rooms 8161 and 8163. Both rooms had a fridge in it. Was pleasantly shocked as TA told us they would not. Couches only about 4-5 feet long, one side opened to pull out bed and seat remained on other side. Sorry, no pics of couch
