Sounded like good news being reported from those onboard the Gem, for leaving this Friday - she'll need up to 4 sea days, nonstop at 20 knots to make her way out of the Caribbean - up to NY in time for 11/21 - next Tuesday, covering a distance of more than 1,825 nautical miles (calculated at 3 days 19 hours)

This thread is more than seven YEARS old!!

 

It is probable that he is no longer under contract to NCL.

Tim has been around forever! He isn't going anywhere too soon. lol

The Gem is out to sea when she needs to leave the port. She comes back usually in the evening if the dock is available.

She should be completed by the weekend and ready for the next sailing. Fingers crossed. I had a wonderful 11 day sailing on her and ready to go back again. She is still a young ship and has plenty of life left in her, just needs some small repairs once in a while.

Onboard the Gem and announcement was made we are heading to Grenada and then back to Barbados to be flown home on Norwegians dime. We got to enjoy our cruise. Now off to get ready for dinner.

Has anyone seen Jomar the bartender recently? He was in the Moderno bar on the Gem last summer.

Jomar is on the Breakaway. Last time I saw him a few weeks ago, he was at Maltings on the waterfront.

Hi. Can you please elaborate. Ill be sailing Breakaway for the third time in August in Haven and thinking of booking the Getaway in spa balcony for next year while the promotion of pick two is still going on.

I just did her last 14 day cruise and had the time of my life!!! Could not have asked for a better cruise. New menus onboard in main dining that just began Jan 31 are fantastic!! Crew is friendly and accommodating. Ship has so much to do. So many different events going on. We sailed through a storm and if Captain didn't tell us we may not have realized. He made a horrible storm feel like nothing with his expertise of handling this ship. The only problem is 14 days was not long enough!!! Enjoy your sailing!!

johnql, thanks for the photos. How utilized was Bliss on your cruise? I'm hoping the renovations invigorated some new interest in the venue. No one was ever there on our last cruise. It was the Spinnaker or bust. We'd always try Bliss first, but it was never well attended.

Just got off the Gem and Bliss was packed quite a bit!
