I've used GoPort for parking within the past two years. They aren't taking as many cruise ships now, so maybe departure day has improved. We were there for a May cruise on the Mardi Gras. We waited in a metal building with no A/C on old church pews. We waited at least 45 minutes for a shuttle. The return experience was a little better.

I prefer portcanaveralparking. I've used them twice and both times it was a fantastic experience.

Greatly appreciate your comments as to your experience. GoPort website indicated they are only dropping off to the Mardi Gras and the video paints a very nice picture. Shows they use modern looking buses to transport the passengers. Hope this is accurate.

  3. Parked at a hotel in Titusville last November for an MSC cruise and then parked at the port even thought it was much more expensive for the convenience.

Thinking about using GoPort for a June Mardi Gras cruise since their prices and video look very good. But still trying to find reviews of GoPort to make sure everything is as good as it seems since I had not previously heard of them.

  4. We are supposed to be getting a total of $400.00 OBC. $100.00 from Carnival and $300.00 from TA.

I went into our account and under cruise add-ons I see OBC General Booking amount issued $100.00 but don't see any other OBC.

I did read in a review of this TA that the person said you will not see the TA OBC in your account until you are on the ship and not sure if this is

standard procedure. Being on the ship is not the time to possibly find out the OBC is not in the account.

We have not been on Carnival in 6-7 years so not sure how TA OBC is currently handled.

Would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone as to what your experience has been when getting OBC from your TA and when you saw it was applied to your

account, prior to sailing or not until you were on the ship..

  5. Just wondering if anyone on the 11/26 sailing suffered from any gastro issues?

I started on the 28th and my wife on the 30th.

We had lunches in the buffet and I'm not sure that some of the food was kept at the correct temperatures, especially the salads.

It has been a week for me and I am not 100% back to normal.

My wife went to medical on the day before we got back and the doctor had special food sent to her in the cabin for lunch, dinner and breakfast the next morning.

I kept waiting for a statement from them to submit to travel insurance co. and went back down to medical and it turns out that there is no charge for the visit since it was a gastro issue. I know we can't be the only people who had this problem.

  6. Will be on the Seashore soon and selected early dining. Hope it's not very early as we usually eat 7:00-7:30. If we get a time of either 6:30 or 7:30 that would be great. Otherwise will try and get it changed and also will try for a table for two. Don't know if the card showing dining time also indicates table size so will probably have to go to dining room to check it out.

  7. When we first started cruising maybe 45 years ago it was tuxes and gowns at dinner. 6-7 years ago on NCL I wore shorts every night in one of the dining rooms that allowed shorts..

Last 4-5 cruises on Celebrity I wore jeans every night. I know the printed dress code and what is allowed don't always agree and can vary from ship to ship.

We will be on the Seashore in fantastica.

  8. I got an email from MSC with the cruise ticket, health questionnaire, purchased services, luggage tags and what is shown as embarkation forms. Don't know why at web check-in it is marked to download embarkation forms which kept giving me an error, if the forms come as part of the paperwork I received as shown above.

I also got the 20 days out message when about 30 days out but last night I was still 25 days out and was able to check in.

  9. Did the web check-in last night and all went well until I went to download the embarkation form. Kept getting there was an error processing your

    request. Please, try again later.

The only thing we did not do was to attach a photo. When we sailed on Celebrity they always took our photos when we got to the terminal.

Just wondering if anyone else has run into problems when trying to download the embarkation form.

In Sept 1984 while on a Carnival cruise, a ship with a large X on the stack steamed by us.  Everyone on deck looked and laughed.  To us the X translated to cross that line off your list.  Who would have thunk 20 years later we would end booking our 2nd major cruise with X, and that it would become one of our go too lines.

I also remember seeing a ship with a large X many years ago and wondering what line it was. And BTW seeing your logo of the Blackhorse Regiment brings back many memories of a time long ago.

  11. When we were young and first started to cruise, in the 1970's we never even thought about travel insurance but in the last 10-15 years it's the first thing we get after the cruise deposit.  To cover pre-existing conditions you must get the policy usually 10-21 days after the deposit. I always look at insure my trip and squaremouth since they have the biggest selection depending on the coverage amounts you are looking for. I always choose high medical and evacuation coverages since you never know what can happen. If not looking to cover pre-existing conditions I think you can get a policy up to day of final payment.

I just spoke to BCC.   0 wait time to be connected.   Rep said the emails with no offer code that have been sent out today was a technical error and the hope to have it fixed

by end of today so corrected one can be sent out.   I also enquired whether free veranda offers were a thing of the past.  He said free veranda offers still exist, and will be sent whenever they are released to BCC, depends on cabin vacancies and time of year

I had the same exact experience today as to the no offer code and asking about free verandas. Not sure how many free veranda offers will be coming with summer on the way and ships filling up but they sure were a big surprise when opening those emails.

  13. We have been on about 40 cruises and on Carnival at least 10 times and never had a bad cruise. Our last 4-5 cruises have been on Celebrity and for sure it's more upscale and also had great cruises especially if getting a free BCC balcony. We have also been on some cruise lines that are long out of business and best forgotten. Our next cruise will be first time on MSC and that should give us an interesting comparison with any of the lines we have been on.

My TA said the customer has to do it. They can't. You need to sign the form so I understand why.

My TA absolutely handled the request to MSC. I requested my TA to process the transfer and it was done.. Apparently my TA has plenty of experience as to how to get it processed as they give a price reduction based on cruise cost.
