  1. I don't have a copy of the complementary breakfast but it's the same as it always was....that thingie we hang on the door, remember?

Here's a copy of the new Room Service Menu. Blow it up and read the fine print at the bottom in regard to service fees and 18% gratuity fees:

Thank you for posting the menu. As a person who is considering sailing NCL in the future this menu helps me to understand why there is a new charge. I am not a fan of buffets so room service that includes hot foods is well worth the extra charge. On Carnival I always tip extra so 18% is reasonable.

  2. The only people it will attract are those that think about cost only. That is what changed the general atmosphere aboard NCL ships over the past few years. There is no gentle way of saying it but the lowest price tends to attract a lower quality of passenger.

Hi, I was looking at your NCL board to find out about the new price changes. Since the Escape will be debuting and Carnival has the Vista debuting later I thought I'd check out NCL. Strangest thing is as a Carnival cruise line fan I never realized that all of us who work in the Education field were low quality passengers. It is good to know that NCL doesn't have low quality people like myself on their ships. Oh, my goodness my friend at work did NCL this past March Break while I did Carnival I think I'd better let her know teachers are lower quality people. Now I am wondering just who is the lower quality person.

  3. OMG! After reading about the sauerkraut sandwiches in the MDR and green water in the Aft pool I wasn't sure whether to laugh uncontrollably or be scared. The info about the pics is so reassuring. Guess I'll be packing St Paddy's decor for my room. Maybe I'll find some themed wrapped goodies to give to my room steward and other staff. Did that at a hotel once and housekeeping was thrilled to be thought of 😊

  4. My daughter really enjoyed the Playlist Productions especially Divas ( I did other things so missed the shows) when we were on the Glory. I really enjoyed the live band shows on the Splendor ( my daughter sat through one with me and said never again) So in March when I'm on the Glory with my younger friend I'll have to give Playlist a chance. All I can say is we have different tastes and that is good because life would be pretty boring if everyone was satisfied all the time. Of course, if my hubby was well enough to cruise he'd say any entertainment stinks and only the slots at the casino are entertaining!

  5. I use Bell Mobility's talk and text plan for U.S. then while on the ship soon after leaving port I put my cell on airplane mode then power it off. I leave my phone in the safe. Everyday I just use the in room phone to make short phone calls home. I find that at $1.95 per minute I can check in on my hubby, find out anything new in about 3 minutes. This is less expensive than using cellular internet or my cell phone for calls. The first time I cruised I thought I'd be lost without my cellphone and internet but I discovered that when your having fun you don't have much down time so fitting in a live phone call provides the best most reassuring way to stay in touch. If I feel the need to make another call I don't worry about the small charge.

  6. I just bought Heys widebody suitcase that is 30"x 22 1/2" X 9 1/2" . It meets AAs checked baggage policy but now I'm wondering if I'll have a problem bringing it on the Glory. I've always brought two suitcases that were a size smaller when using Amtrak to NYC but this time I have to travel by plane to Miami from Toronto so to avoid larger baggage fees I thought one big suitcase would work but now I'm not sure. Anyone else used the larger suitcase size?
