Hi,
if you kindly could try to contact D727. Either the current occupant or their cabin attendant. We are due to cruise on the Island Princess 33 nights in May. Just curious if they like the cabin.
Thanks in advance.Ursula
Why not call the occupants shore to ship and talk to them directly? Keep in mind the ship's time.

I made contact with them. It is a couple who had a world cruise on their bucket list, and it has finally come true. They were nervous about not testing positive before boarding. They stayed in FLL for a few days before sailing.
I did not ask about their cruise history.

I hope they post often.
The Island sails tomorrow from Ft Lauderdale.

How exposed is the Saudi Carnival Corp investment to a CCL bankruptcy?
Would they invest more, or would they think that would be "putting good money after bad"?

... Unless it's a super great promotion and you are OK risking the deposit (paying by credit card of course), why risk it? I'm sure that pattern will continue for a few years as no one wants to get "Crystaled".
It's been mentioned that some credit card companies are excluding, in certain conditions, travel related charges from their guarantees. The CC companies don't want to be "Crystaled" themselves again.

Your review was very enjoyable to read. Thanks for taking the time to do such a comprehensive job!

I am not sure why this is such news. HAL has been sailing long cruises out of various U.S. ports for a long time.

Sorry, but I couldn't remember Transatlantic round trip voyages, other than the World Cruises, being offered. Going round trip from the US east coast to Europe is of interest to me.

I like the idea of longer roundtrip voyages from the US. Especially transocean voyages.

Enjoy! Wish I was there sharing the fun.

Then don't participate. EZPZ
If passengers could bid on a specific cabin, wouldn't that increase the number of bidding participants, resulting in more profit for which you were hoping?

As people who have had front facing balconies have posted, when at sea the wind is too high to be out on that balcony.
Similarly, for the crew the wind would be too high to smoke out in the open on the bow while the ship is at sea.
When I said bow and stern smoking, I was talking about the far forward (and far rearward) side smoking areas, not the very front (bow) or very rear (stern) of the ship. It's hard enough to open those front facing exterior doors because of the wind. They even close off those doors when it's real windy.
I believe the drifting smoke from the forward side smoking areas affected a lot of balconies, causing the smoking area to be moved towards the rear of the ship where far fewer balconies would be affected.

Wasn't this area open to crew before?
Maybe smoke drifting from the bow to a lot of balconies is why smoking areas were moved to the stern. May have had a lot of complaints.

I had not heard of this issue lately and was thinking they had the crew back smoking below decks - or wherever it was before. Such as what's wrong with the bow area perhaps?
Wouldn't smoke at the bow potentially float to any balcony of the ship, whereas smoke at the stern only affects the stern?

I'd worry that my phone is not allowed to contact the medical centre. I hope 911 works.
I'm also wondering about the different test results. Is your test kit still in code date?
The cynical part of me wonders if Princess has found a 'way' to keep their positive numbers down. I'd like to hear what the future Princess tests reveal on the the both of you.
Hope you both get over whatever it is you have very quickly and can resume the fun.

I've "laminated" my paper luggage tags using the wide clear box packing tape. Haven't lost a bag tag.
As far as your other questions, sorry, I can't help.
Enjoy the trip!

If you added up all the shares held by individual holders who have between 100 and 200 shares, would it amount to over 1% of the total shares ?

Maybe it was privately charted by the International Association of Masochists.

If anybody needs to print a screen capture of the original 110% guarantee, you can start here:

We've had that in the past. We've also been given a few free plays at selected machines. Most often the machine where you guide a rod to release a stack of bills.

At the time I wrote my post it still had the original caption.

Probably safe to say no one at Princess or Carnival Corp has seen this thread.

Wouldn't surprise me if some countries considered cruise crew as essential to their economy. Moving them up in the pecking order for vaccines.
If they left their country without being vaccinated, the cruise line, or some generous country looking for cruise ship business, may offer to pay the bill for them to get vaccinated.
Cabin Door Slammers on the Sapphire!

I've only been on the older ships, so I don't know if this still an issue with the newer ones - sometimes doors slam when a balcony door is left open. You can tell who leaves their balcony door open by the whistling sound.
