  1. We did a back to back out of Miami. It was easy peasy. One 1 other person was doing a back to back on that cruise. I liked checking out the suites when the ship disembarked.

  2. I have a cabana booked for our upcoming cruise in a couple weeks. Just wondering if the the Grand Turk cabana rentals are the same idea as the ones at half moon cay? Do you request a certain number in advance at guest services or do you just get sent to one upon arrival? Are they really strict on the 4 person limit? I wanted to get two cabanas for our family of 8 but there was only one available. Do you think they will allow all my family to store their beach gear inside the hut?

  3. We just returned from the Magic and we could barely get the steward to put the bed down just so we could use it. at least 3 times until 9pm we asked for the bed to be put down. I would be afraid to keep asking for it to be put up and down all the time and the amount of time you will spend looking for your steward to complete the task. Hope you have better luck than we did.

  4. I’d like to know why people purchase cruise cash or bar cash. They both appear to be non refundable so I’d like to know the advantage to purchasing them. If you can just bring cash and put it in the machine to pay your bill what is the advantage to buying these cards. Just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

  5. The worst room for movement we ever had was second balcony from the back of the ship. It just happened to be deck 6. We had rough seas so I’m honestly not sure how it felt to everyone else but when the boat went up into the wave the boat bounced at the back and did a weird banging noise. It was only the one night that was terrible but I never select s room at the back now because of it.

  6. I sailed the Conquest the end of October going into November. I had an absolutely wonderful time. My tenth cruise with Carnival. It was amazing. Piano bar had a gentleman that had been on American Idol and he was spectacular. Really enjoyed ourselves. Food was fantastic never wanted for anything. I really hope you gave a great trip.

  7. On the formal night my son wears dress pants and a button down. He also enjoys a tie. Lol. On the other nights I have allowed him to wear a pair of khaki pants with a nice polo shirt or a good pair of jeans with a trendy shirt. However you asked if they enforce the dress code so I will say it’s honestly 50/50. I saw a gentlemen get told he could not come in in his jeans that were ripped. He returned in pajama pants. They reluctantly let him in. I think there is a bit of understanding with kids but I could be wrong. expecting children to dress to the nines every night just won’t happen. Tell the teens to bring at least a couple shirts without any writing maybe and that might pacify the haters. I’m sure they will love the food in the mdr. I hope you guys have a fantastic holiday!

  9. Thanks for all of your insight everybody. My corporate rate gets us the vehicle quite a bit cheaper. I will however make sure to cover all the points you have suggested as well as look into keeping it for the duration of the cruise and just pay for parking. Thanks!

  10. We are headed out on a five day cruise January 6th on the Sunshine. We are going a few days early so we have decided to rent a van at MCO and return it at the port when we board the ship. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience in doing this and if they would like to share them. We have done the dreaded shuttle many times and we were just trying to make things easier for the 8 of us (and cheaper) than paying 40US a person round trip for a shuttle. Any thoughts?

  11. Yes my girlfriend and I did separate accounts on our cruise in January. Way easier when you purchase different things in the gift shop and casino ect. My balance was paid when we got off the ship as I added cash to my account at the kiosk. She just let hers charge to her credit card. Carnival makes payment so simple for everyone.

  12. Not sure the reasoning for tearing the boxes apart other than to deter people from bringing the cases on to begin with. I use several different X-ray machines for my profession including the ones used prior to departure and I can assure you, they can see every inch inside the box and the contents. I think carnival likes the fact that the searches are random as it is an inconvenience to have to redistribute cans of pop after a box is broken. I myself could never lug on a box of pop on a holiday. Too much trouble.

  13. I'm going to guess but I think the mocha chocolate getaway my be the same drink as the chocolate banana monkeys we were drinking. Just a tad of pins colada mix. Chocolate suryp, banana. I asked for vodka because I'm not a fan of rum. With a cherry on top. One or two a holiday and its delish. Any more than that it's too much. My go to drinks are White Russian and peach schnapps and orange juice

  14. Yes it definitely pays to do your research around the time you are traveling. I'm not sure if that sale would still be valid as that was a few months back.i would def check out that Atlantis website. The reason I posted at the time was more in hopes to assist those traveling right around the time we were away. Also it was to let Carnival know (because they do follow these boards) that their prices are not always comparable to those found at some of the establishments in which they have contracts and excursions booked. Yes they do sell out at peak times. Both through Carnival and at Atlantis itself. As we were on a back to back in the off season we knew we were getting two shots at going during one vacation.

  15. I was looking at the ship excursions and there is a 99.00 Discovery Atlantis excursion. Does this include the water slides and pools?

I'm not sure. It would mention it in the ad if it included the water slides. That would be great to hear they dropped the prices to match Atlantis though. I would def look into it further.
