No idea about the balcony, but the map I looked at says it's air conditioning space.

I just booked it "Escape the Rubicon" for my Symphony cruise in September. It's listed under activities My cruise is over 140 days out.
that's weird, I just checked again this morning, nothing. Cruise leaves Sunday. I think it closes and won't let us book anything after today also.

funny how they will have it in cruise planner for some cruises but not others. My HOTS cruise that leaves sunday has never had it in the cruise planner.
We’re on the same cruise, we’ve been watching as well.

I was just able to book it on the cruise planner for my cruise on the Symphony this weekend. It only showed up a few days ago.
Where did you find it in the cruise planner? Was it under activities?

Our Harmony cruise leaves in 3 days, I’ve been looking daily but the escape room hasn’t shown up that I’ve seen.

Agree, I would love to try Izumi as I love Japanese Hibachi but those prices are ridiculous. Not that I can't afford it, I just think it's plain greed to charge that much onboard. I'll stick to my local Hibachi.
If it were a unique experience, then it might be worth it. We have several options for very nice Japanese hibachi only a few minutes from home. They all cost much less than Izumi.

Do they get hot and stuffy or are they well ventilated and air conditioned? If I decide I want to leave part way through will they let me out? I would appreciate any thoughts especially from people who are claustrophobic.
I've never been in the escape room on the ship, however in similar experiences on land I can say the rooms were as well ventilated as any other room. The locks on the door are virtual, in that you aren't allowed to open it, but there is nothing to actually prevent you from leaving, except that typically if you leave, you may not return.
-
unlocking the door looks more convenient, but just about everything else looks less convenient. We'll have them so I guess we'll get to see first hand, but I suspect we'll end up leaving them in the room.

All of the specialty dining is way overpriced.

They’ve stuck us in a hilltop cabana.

It does help to have access to a concierge.
apparently only if you are star class.

I believe that's RESERVED for, but available to others if the Star Class folks don't want them....
Because they're not free to Star Class folks, and it doesn't make any sense to leave them empty if someone else wants to book them. Royal is all about revenue!
I'd ask to be placed on the waitlist.... and go ahead and purchase one at Nellie's if they're still available. If your waitlist option comes through, you can cancel the Nellie's cabana.meh, might just stay on the boat. That's what we did last time we were at Labadee.

They get first pick, but other suites can book them if star class does not. That is how I understand it.
Perhaps, but this is what I received last night.
"Thank you for choosing the beautiful Harmony of the seas for your upcoming cruise
Nowadays all over the water and beach front cabana are reserved for Star Class suite" -

I checked the cruise planner today for our cruise in 2020. To my surprise, I noticed that MTD dining reservations were open. The only problem was that the times offered each day started at 6:30. I thought it was normally around 5:30. If no seating is done before then, I would imagine it would be a mob scene without a reservation. What are the chances this is an error? Is it possible they open earlier for walk ups but don't take bookings until 6:30?
On Oasis we never made a reservation, we just showed up, never waited more than a couple minutes for a table.

Husband and I are travelling on Allure in June. We are in a GS and will have Barefoot each access. We also have booked a parasail and a jetski just to relive our youth.
Is there enough shade to forgo a cabana? While he doesn't mind playing in the sun my husband no longer likes laying in the sun thanks to a few basal cells.
A tree or umbrella would be fine.
Also what is the cost of the cabana should we go that route?
Thank you!
Just an fyi, we are on Harmony and the concierge informed us that the over the water and beachfront cabanas are reserved for Star class.

sounds like people are worrying too much about it. We just took pics against a white wall and uploaded them. If they don't like em, I'm sure they'll retake em, no big deal.

Buy screwtop wine.
I buy wine for the wine, not the closure.
I’ve taken a corkscrew on cruises with no trouble. If you’re flying make sure it’s in your checked luggage.

I had a $200 watch credited to my account on Celebrity. They insisted it was my purchase until someone pointed out that they have CCTV in all the shops.
The footage was viewed at the time of purchase and it obviously was not me. It was only then that they gave me my money back, I don't know what I would have done if the man in the video looked like me 😲😭
I’d have refused to pay it regardless of the video. If they charged my card I’d call the bank and have them charge it back.

On Oasis we had charges from the Solarium bar show up on our account on a regular basis, We had the drink package and did not order anything special there. The amounts were all odd as well. A call to guest services took care of it without any additional headache.
On a different cruise line that claims to have fun ships, we had ordered some items to be delivered that never showed up. The guest services promised a refund but several weeks after we returned, they still had not processed the refund. I had my credit card company process the refund for them.

Yes, a lot of time was spent in the galley, however, there is a lot to see, there. For example, I did not know that the wait staff has access to a full bar located in the galley and are capable of making their own drinks for the diners.
Should have been easier to get a drink with dinner then.

We book with a large TA, the price is the same as the cruise line. They have online access, easy phone support. and I am getting almost $600 back in a gift card after the cruise.
-
The reviews of tours I’ve read make it sound like they spend a lot of time in the galley and not much time in the other areas. I seem to be in the minority but that is a big price to pay for a tour of what really amounts to a commercial kitchen.
-
We got the deluxe package for 52 and the refreshment for 17. Our cruise is in a week and a half and we check the prices every day to see if they have dropped. I can say that while they haven't gone below what we have them for, they are changing daily. If the price drops below what we payed, we'll cancel it, then re purchase it at the lower rate.

It's coming - we just don't know when yet. Hopefully sooner than later.
More places are going smoke free all the time. It's a movement that is picking up more speed. Disney just announced that all of it's parks in the US are going to be smoke free. fewer people are smoking every year.
