  1. We are sailing out of Dublin next June and it is an overnight on embarkation . First time for this. Information how this works would be greatly appreciated.

Can we board, drop off our things and them get right back off to explore the city?

    Thank you

    .

  2. No

For the Amsterdam you need to rent one -- $2 a day. It will either be placed on the desk on under it.

Call Ship Services at 1-800-541-1576 to rent one.

Thanks for the info. Kinda strange. We need it for our medication. To bad that they will charge for something like that.

    Thanks again !

  3. If I recall correctly there are NOT electrical outlets in the bathroom.

You will find plenty of outlets in the living room. I often bring a European plug to u.s. plug converter. As most modern electronics are dual voltages it doubles your outlets. Make sure your hair dryer or other electronics are dual voltage before plugging in.

Thainkyou for your quick response. I figured there won't be an outlet, dang it. On the bright side if there are outlets in the living room I'll make that work. And thanks for the idea of bringing the European plug.

3 girls trying to get ready at the same time can get 😝.

  4. i will be sailing on the Eclipse next July. There will be 3 of us in the cabin and I was wondering if there is an electrical out let in the guest bathroom for a hair dryer. Secondly does anyone remember if there are additional outlets in the living room. Trying to get an idea about charging our electronics.

    Thanks in advance!

  5. I think most of the entertainers were due to change so you might get a better bunch (unless of course you like an Alanis Morrisette type singer who just made me want to slit my wrists). And hopefully the bar staff got a talking too. There were actually quite a lot of people mentioning the poor attitude of the staff at the bars. I think we were on the first cruise after the ship came from the Med. So that might have had something to do with the odd selection of musical acts. But it doesn't explain the pissed off bar staff.

I know this will go against the "theme" of this thread but I would prefer the ships to cater to a younger mix. The first Celebrity cruises I did felt like cruising on a hospital ship. The more recent ones have been better (except for that last one on the Eclipse). But the ships are big enough to accommodate all of us. There are lounges where elevator music can be played for those that are into it. And there is the Quasor club or Sky Lounge for those of us that would rather get our groove on:p (Picture awkward 50 year old dancing to hip hop). But believe it or not I do prefer the old formal format over this new one. And my group even looks pretty sharp on the regular nights:D. I just wish the experience was more consistent. One cruise great food, next cruise bad food etc. It should not be that hard to have decent food on all the cruises. Oh and in the theater, enough with the ventriloquists already, really does anyone like them?

    Hi TFGL

I just saw that you are from Riverside , Ca...so am I and I also see that you will be sailing the Equinox in June. I'll be on board for the June 4th sailing. If that's you're sailing, let's meet up for a drink and toast the I.E....

  6. There is no special Celebrity Identity anymore. We enjoy our cruises but with lowered expectations... We were fortunate to have cruised quite a bit while they did offer Modern Luxury on X...and most everyone on board shared that special feeling.

Gone are the good old days of Celebrity's. I first sailed Celebrity in 1998 on the Galaxy. I have sailed through a lot of changes. Some good and some not do good.. i.e. Evening Chic, which I feel opens the door for anything goes. Celebrity clientele used to be those that valued the Modern Luxury on X. It is disappointing when you sit down for a beautifully prepared and presented dinner and seated across front you is another passenger dressed in what they consider evening chic...t-shirt and jeans.

With that being said,I will not let others spoil my vacation!!

  7. Glad to hear that the option is still open to us. We have been sailing with Celebrity since the mid 90's. We've seem a lot of changes. Some good and some not so good. We just go with the flow. We will be trying out the tea service in Michaels Club. It might turn out to be one of our new favorite things.

    Thanks for the info.

  8. Hi All

Does anyone know if the afternoon tea brought to suites has been discontinued? I thought I saw a brief mention that it was now being servered in Michaels Club. I hope not. We truly enjoy having it delivered to our suite. A nice way to relax as well as getting to know our butler.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  9. Thanks everyone for your input. I wish I could remember his last name, but then again not sure if he even told us ...lol. I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed and we get lucky to have Ricky again, but if not I'm sure whoever our butler is they will be great. I will however take Chezmarylou's advise and check with our concierge close to our sail date.

    Thanks again

  10. Hi All

We will be sailing in the Reflection in July 2017 and we are hoping to have Ricky as our butler. We have had him in the past and he is wonderful. Anyone know if he is still with Celebrity and if so what ship he might be on

    Thanks so much!

  11. How long do the front line staff (like bar staff, waiters etc) tend to work a ship before taking leave? How much leave do they get and do they tend to return to the same ship?

We sailed on the Reflection in the East Med, in August last year. We're returning to the Reflection in March/April for the Caribbean run and was wondering whether it will be mostly the same staff?

From what I understand they are on for at least 6 month contract and off for 2 months. It is not unusual for crew to be sent to a different ship. I would imagine depending on senroity and availability they could return to the same ship.
