  1. Bare with my questions as I’m still a newbie! Thank you in advanced!

We plan on bringing several bottles of wine.

•Is it suggested to carry them on or place in checked luggage?

•Do you pay the corking fee upfront upon arrival (for all bottles) or just as you need them opened?

•Anything we should know, heads up, or suggestions?

  2. I have not read previous replies, so forgive me if I am commenting repetitively... We are currently booking with Norwegian, they still allow unlimited to be brought on. $15 corking fee now applies to all bottles, regardless of cork or twist top.

  3. First time cruisers with Norwegian, Epic to be precise!

•Are there refrigerators in the cabins? If not can we request one for medications?

•How does room service work, $7.95 yes? How long does it usually take? Any specific hours?

•How many bottles of wine/champagne have you brought on?

(I called and they said there was not a limit, just a corking fee if needed. Our travel wine is a twist top).

•Is March a good time to visit the Bahamas?

(It’s the beginning of our rainy stormy season here in FL)

❤️ I will probably end up asking more questions in the comments below as I think of them!

  4. Always loved EN when we cruised with her, and missed her dearly when she

left us. Unfortunately she won't be here very long when she returns. Wish she could stay as the much needed third RCI ship in PC.

When does she make her way back here? We’d like to cruise but now really don’t want to even both with Majesty.

  5. We lived for 20 years on Merritt Island, (where it was nice to just take a taxi to the port ;)) and we could hear the ship's horns when they departed. Always made us wish we were also on board. Loved going to Grills at the port to watch sail away.

Three years ago we moved out to "the swamp" which gives our other cruising love, "the land yacht", a covered RV port attached to our house in our RV friendly community. Indeed about 20 miles away. :)

Grills and Fishlips are our favorites! Our swamp favorite being alone Cabbage (or cabin? Lol) on 520.

  6. Thanks ShakerFamily! Have been to that area a few times in the past and visited KSC twice. Any thoughts on Melbourne, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce/Port St Lucie area? Thinking that would put us in the 2 hour range for the remainder of the trip down to Miami. Depending on timing, might try to grab some beach time as well. Would love to go back to Ft. Lauderdale again, but heck, that is almost to Miami at that point

Skip Melbourne/Palm Bag completely. Just traffic and residential shopping. The others are retirement areas. Vero has a large shopping outlets if you’re looking to do that.

Sebastian is good for their beach and fishing. Eat at Mulligans on the water (always dolphins around the restaurant).

OR Although closer to Miami, our short getaways are alwaysssss amazing at “Lauderdale by the Sea”!! Clear waters, an amazing reef to snorkel/dive! Awesome restaurants with nice small town night life! It’s so so beautiful there. We book the smaller cheap (under $59) thy have always been great and long the beach.

  7. Been on both several times...have been sailing on MJ (and on again in a couple of weeks) only because MJ replaced EN here in PC.

While we love the crew on MJ, the venues that we have come to enjoy are just not there.

Also on MJ you have to book a JS cabin minimum just to get a balcony cabin. We booked late on upcoming cruise, and all JS cabins and above were already gone. Outside cabins are very tiny.

Hands down prefer Enchantment...and love the fact she is coming back to PC, though only briefly...then Mariner coming in for the 3/4. Nice alternative there! :D

We must be neighbors! We’re about 20 our from Port Canaveral. 2018 cruises have Enchantment leaving from our port (March to be specific). We’ve sailed before and loved it!

  8. I’m in the Cocoa area (near Port Canaveral), roughly 4.5/5 south of Savannah.

Our beach is amazing with great restaurants on the water (dolphin and turtle sightings).

There is also NASA with Kennedy Soace Center nearby.

The wildlife Refuge where you’re guaranteed to see dolphin, manatees and maybe shark, also he launch pads up closer.

Orlando is about 40 minutes to the west of us. There’s many theme parks!

Daytona is about 45 minutes north of us. It’s a big name with little to offer. We personally have zero interest in the city.

Feel free to ask any questions!

  9. We're locals, you'll love the area! The Radisson has a great pool to occupy your unwind time.

There are Uber drivers everywhere for your convenience! Charges would only be several dollars as locations are local (but most just out of walking distance). Example, we used a driver to go from the Port (amazing restaurants!) to three miles down the road and our total was $6. You'll only need to go less than that.

Publix is the most amazing grocery store (and the most local). You could stop in and say hello to my husband!

They have a deli that makes the best subs! There is also a liquor store attached.

As mentioned above, the Speedway (or RaceTrac) is a large convenience store with small cooked food items and beer/wine.

If you're going to dine at a restaurant, go to Fishlips in the Port! Eat upstairs on the water!

Grills outside is another great option.

    Have fun!
