I submitted a form yesterday and got an almost immediate reply with the reduction in price, but then this morning I got an email saying I needed to pay an additional $350 deposit (I had already paid $500 in November) AND they moved my final payment date up 2 weeks. I’ve tried calling but hung up after being on hold over an hour.
has this happened to anyone?

There are plenty of places to eat in New Orleans and it's not all seafood. If you know where you're staying and what you want to eat let me know and I'll give you some suggestions.
We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter/CBD - my men are big meat eaters (beef, pork, etc) and like traditional American food 😞 . My daughter and I will eat anything. Thanks so much for your help!
Edited to add - we are driving to NOLA, so transportation won't be an issue.

I keep remembering things that I should have discussed in review. Concerning food in New Orleans. We were looking for places to eat within our walking area, keeping in mind that the hubby cannot walk far before his back hurts. There was absolutely nowhere for us to eat. I know, you all are saying, “are you crazy?”. Let me insert that I eat nearly everything, and I love seafood. My picky, set in his ways, hubby only eats beef: steaks and burgers. So, on our quest to find a restaurant that will serve the man a steak or burger, we found that all of these places that offer things I wanted to try, such as Gumbo, Grilled Oysters, etc, the steaks were $40-65. He refused to pay that. So, for the 3 pre-cruise nights we were there, we ended up eating at Hard Rock Cafe 2 of the 3 nights where he could eat steaks and burgers. The other night we went to a dive type bar that I saw a video of that served a crawfish boil. They also had a menu offering ribs, which he ordered, as he will eat pork ribs. He loves spaghetti and meatballs, as well, but couldn’t find an Italian restaurant. Only Irenes, but when he saw the menu, he said that wasn’t Italian food—Lol! As someone from Italian parents, I had to tell him that real Italian food is not what America thinks it is. It’s a lot of fish. Lol! So, that’s our pre-cruise search for food. Hubby says he never wants to return to NOLA. oh, well, it is what it is. Oh, the dive bar? The Three Legged Dog.
Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually worried about this. My husband is allergic to seafood and my son is a very picky eater.

Yay! Loving this review - we'll be on the Glory in June. Question - you said to stay up late to see the oil rigs leaving NOLA. About how late? My son would love to see them.
Also, we are trying to decide whether to come down to NOLA on Friday and spend an extra day pre cruise so if you do have any suggestions/pictures at the end of the cruise review, I personally would love to read/see them!

My husband is allergic to shellfish and my son just flat out dislikes seafood. They both came out of the MDR stuffed each night on our cruise and my son said the food is one of the things he's looking most forward to on the next one. :)

I have a really stupid question. When you went to the Lido in the mornings how did you save chairs for your family? I'm an early riser but I can't see my teenagers getting down there at 7. What do you do when you go to breakfast to save them?
Our only cruise was Alaska so this really wasn't an issue for us. :).
Thanks for such a great review! I'm getting excited about the ship.

We stayed at a Hampton Inn downtown and just took a taxi from the airport. Our hotel had a very reasonably priced shuttle to the terminal. Layers are important but keep checking the weather right up until you leave. For our kayak excursion we wore shorts and got hot! Excursions are the best part of the trip. I highly recommend whale watching. My husband and both kids agreed it was their favorite and I can never get them all to agree on anything!
Other packing things would be magnetic hooks to hang rain jackets or hats on the wall and definitely binoculars. Have fun!

Subscribing! We are on the Magic in July. I hope they got Waterworks fixed for your kids!

I didn't use the laundry service but on my last cruise I did use the washer and dryer. I found them to be easy to use and very convenient. You might want to consider that option as well.

Thanks for the great report! We are planning to go on the Legend in Alaska next year and I love all the Legend info.

Great report! Can I ask what your cabin number was and if you were happy with it? Looking at cruising on the Legend and I'm collecting cabin info.
Thanks and I love the pictures!

Since we are getting a big OBC due to price drop, my dh and I are getting the drink package for the first time ever! I'm excited to try new drinks and work my way through the drink menu. 😆
