  1. Why must people be bashed for asking a question? Probably every question that is currently asked on this forum has been asked before. If people do not want to answer a question that has already been asked, then don't. This forum should be about helping people find answers to questions, sharing experiences, and interacting with other people about a subject that apparently appeals to all of us, not to try to make someone feel like crap for not wanting to, or not knowing how to search. Maybe someone, by asking a question is trying to start a connection, or start a dialogue. Either way, it is my belief that if you do not want to answer or add something constructive to the topic at hand, you should just move on to find one that does instead of the unnecessary commentary.

I read these boards all the time to get as much info as I possibly can.....and I absolutely agree with you.....I don't understand why people choose to respond just to be nasty. Thanks for saying it so well!

  2. If you haven't seen the CAS page on the NCL website, it may help to answer some of your questions. http://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/casinos-at-sea/players-club

As far a receiving Onboard Credit for your play, you would need to cash in your points yourself during certain hours (the day and time will be in the Dailies or you can ask a host at the casino), unless you are a CAS guest, in which case they will usually take care of it for you automatically. It used to be the last night of the cruise, but I saw a report a few days ago that they might be doing it the night prior to the last night now - you'd need to check on board.

It's hard to say what it takes to earn a comped cabin. I have been comped on all of my cruises over the years (except the first one), and while my casino play has increased, my comps have remained about the same. On my last 7 day sailing, I earned approx 11-12,000 CAS points (slots earn 1 point per $5 run through) and it qualifies me for a comped mini-suite on my next sailing (7 days), less taxes and NCF. Each comp is based on your last cruise basically. I don't know what the minimum play would be to be offered a comped cabin, but if your play doesn't qualify for a comp, sometimes they do a BOGO or 20% off for lesser play.

If you have high level cards at AC casinos, especially if you are Diamond or higher at Caesar's/Harrah's properties, you should check with your host to see if you qualify for cruise giveaways thru them - I know there's one at Harrah's coming up in a few weeks, and they have at least three or four every year.

    Thanks Robin!

As I've combed through these threads looking for CAS info you always seem to have some of the best!

I've gotten a few comped cruises thru Trump but that was on Princess....it was fun but if I can get a comped cruise that leaves out of NYC that would be even better since I live in NJ.

I've been playing lately at the Sands in PA....maybe I need to go back to Harrahs!

    Thanks again,

  3. I've never cruised with NCL but will be going on the Gem in Sept. I am a gambler (slots!) and def not a high roller but have earned enough in AC to get some high level players cards.

Curious how CAS works as far as comping goes....

I've read threads on how money is taken off your final bill, is it done automatically or do you have to request that?

I would love to get a comped cruise thru NCL.....what has been everyone's experience in getting one? How many points typically needs to be earned to be offered a comped cruise?

    Thanks everyone!
