When I renewed I got a passport book and a passport card. That way I can leave the book in the safe and just carry the card with me. Hopefully that's all I will need to carry with me and not even need my DL.

Its scary when you see isolated incidents like this in other countries but when you turn on the news here and see much more much worse daily its not as scary for some reason. If their port of call had been Detroit none of them may have made it out alive. Just smart to always be careful and not let a false sense of security cloud your judgement.

Thanks for all the great details. My friends normally do Carnival so my first cruise will likely be with them. I definitely want to do a trip on Oasis or Allure also and plan to get in both this year.

I do hate when they take med-rare to far. It use to be my favorite and only way to order and to often its hard to cut and cold. There needs to be a in between med-rare and medium lol. Guess there aren't any Brazilian churrascaria's on any lines? That could get dangerous for me... one thin mint!

Sounds like its pretty good on most lines so I will definitely have to do at least one night to check it out. Saw Allure has a Chops, that got my mouth watering.

So I love my steak, especially picking out my own from the butcher, seasoning, and grilling it myself very few places come close.

I see most ships have a steakhouse and all I really see people say is its $30-35 usually. Not much info. I know MDR is the primary thing to do and you can get steak there I believe along with buffet and other free options do people just never go to the steak restaurants?

Just wondering what the quality level is. Chili's < Outback < Longhorn < Ruth Chris < Bobby Flay (ha I wish). For $35 not expecting the world. But not sure how that price works either. Is that for a small sirloin, a filet, a porterhouse? Sides? Do you get the same quality and piece of meat if you ask for it in the MDR?

Looking to book my first cruise soon. I've always been more of a Vegas or fly to island and stay at resort kind of guy but friends keep saying how much they love it so why not give it a try.

Do ports that offer scuba also usually offer scuba classes or should you get certification before the trip?
