30 people is going to be tough no matter where you go if you expect to congregate together. I'm sure you're going to have to play that by ear!

First time NCL cruisers on the Escape this coming Saturday. We too have been very happy with CCL, but we are cruising for the incentives and the new ship this time around!
Excited to be on a new ship, I'm sure we'll have a blast! I'm not so worried about the bad reviews of beverage service etc, just know what to expect ahead of time courtesy of reviews like yours on cruise critic.
Thank you so much for your review!

Hello!
Does anyone know the length of time for a one way trip to JVD on the New Horizon Ferry? Just trying to plan our day :)
I have the ferry schedule and am assuming it's less than an hour based on return timings.
Much thanks in advance.
Evan
Never mind, I just called them...
For anyone that didn't know and wants to know,
Ferry ride is about 18 minutes from Tortola to JVD.
Taxi from Road Town to West End is about 25 minutes.
Thanks

Do they have any kind of live poker on the Escape other that maybe a tournament?
What is your sail date?

What number do you call for an upgrade?
NCL upsell department: 1 (800) 625-4309

Do they serve Angry Orchard on the ship?
Angry Orchard is on The District's menu on the Escape, so may be Fleet wide?

Called about our Feb 6th Escape cruise a few moments ago. They said they don't have any offers yet, to check back mid-next week and they may have something for me then. Will let you guys know! :)

13 Days until our cruise. We are booked in a MA mini suite. Would like to score an upsell to a full suite (there are lots of them left). Is it time for me to start calling the upsell #? The specific suite I'm looking at is currently priced $1100pp more than I paid for the mini. What can I expect to pay for the upsell? Would love to hear from anyone who might have advice for me. Thanks in advance for your help. Pat
You're within two weeks, I would give it a shot. Let us know what they say!!! :) GL

Set a reminder for next week to call when we are about 2 weeks out.
We too are booked in an inside Deck 12 aft, so would be nice to upgrade to balcony for around $300.
Did they let you pick from a list of open rooms or did you just say deck 8 suite sounds good? :) let me know!

FDR decided not to have fireworks on the Escape, and decided to end them on the GA and BA. Simple economics.

We had unlimited on the Getaway over New Years. It worked most of the time we used it just fine. our biggest annoyance was each other. Family members would stay logged in and then you'd have to go through this whole process to kick them off and log back in. Otherwise it worked just fine for checking email, social media, etc. certainly not fast, but I wasn't on a working vacation and neither was dh, so it was perfect for us.
Agreed. Most of the time with the unlimited, slow is ok, and when it doesn't work just chalk that up to I'm not paying by the minute, so who cares :)
-
Very slow, depending on the time and day may be unusable. If you buy the unlimited you can just leave it turned on on your phone or device constantly and then come back to it later if it doesn't work....also if you buy a limited package and have super poor performance you can generally chat up the Internet manager and they will add some minutes or give you a partial credit for the wifi, YMMV
You have to logout when done as well with the limited packages. When I've booked limited packages before, I usually got about 25% of the time I actually paid for (performance-wise; things took 4x longer to do even basic send and receive of email and attachments)...hope this helps your calculations with how much time to buy.
Disclaimer: not dogging the wifi, it's satellite internet at sea with limited bandwidth shared with a bunch of people on a moving ship with performance affected by a bunch of variables, I'd rather have it operate poorly than not have it at all (small business owner)

It's 7%. So $0.70 on every $10 drink :)

Just got off the ship yesterday...spent bulk of our time in the Brewery! Floor to ceiling windows, comfortable chairs and couches and adults only. They ran out of a couple beers for a day but we're ready to go by the next. With so many to choose from, it wasn't a problem. We would leave during "game" time. The venue is used for a couple of musical games (45minutes) but emptied out after. Just a purely relaxing place to hang out...
Sounds great! Glad to hear it's an excellent venue. Can't wait to do some damage on the UBP! :)

There is pizza in the garden cafe till 11:30 every night.
That's awesome that they keep that open late. Thanks for letting us know.
What time does the dinner buffet normally shut down?
-
I am interested too :) I saw some pictures of pizza on the buffet but not sure if that's a lunch or dinner only thing :)

Sorry I am posting this new thread. I made a mistake on the last one and ask about the Majesty I meant to say Sky. So the question is does the Sky have a bar inside their Casino. Thanks
I wish there was a way to remove the other post
Yes it has a casino bar. You can check out deck plans at cruisecritic.com if you want to go exploring the ship :)

Someone posted last week that it was on the buffet during seafood night as well. Jumbos ran out first, then they had smaller ones --- they also said they had the area roped off until dinner time started so no one could get a head start on the shrimp :)
-
Right. Thanks Flowers. Already knew that trick. But I thought there was another site that showed general availability across the ship instead of having to pick each individual cabin category on a "mock" booking to check inventory? Like 60%, or 75% booked etc.
